With modest grades and no alumni connections to speak of she needs extracurriculars to beef up her college applications. Joining the drama club leads to new friends (sometimes at the expense of old ones), first loves, and a social life in full swing. Dealing with her critical mother (Laurie Metcalf) and succeeding at math do not come as easily. With her dad (Tracy Letts) recently laid off, her mom working double shifts as a nurse, she is keenly aware that post–high school life is no walk in the park. Satirical drama written and directed by Ruben Östlund (Force Majeure) that won the Golden Palm this year in Cannes. Christian (Claes Bang) is the respected curator of a contemporary art museum, a divorced but devoted father of two who drives an electric car and supports good causes. His next show is “The Square”, an installation which invites passersby to altruism, reminding them of their role as responsible fellow human beings. But sometimes, it is difficult to live up to your own ideals: Christian's foolish response to the theft of his phone drags him into shameful situations. Meanwhile, the museum's PR agency has created an unexpected campaign for ”The Square”. The response is overblown and sends Christian, as well as the museum, into an existential crisis. Elisabeth Moss and Dominic West are also part of the cast.
The summary only tells you so much. I recommend watching the trailer. It is an unusual Palme d'Or winner. Alternative trailer from Scandinavia without English subtitles, but still worth watching: HD720p 14MB.

Historical thriller about the anonymous whistleblower known only as Deep Throat. It is 1972. After nearly 40 years in office, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover has died. Despite obvious qualifications and decades of dedication, Special Agent Mark Felt (Liam Neeson) is not appointed as Hoover's successor. The snub is indicative of forces outside the Bureau conspiring against its independence. He's named Associate Director, yet Nixon’s White House keeps Felt and his colleagues on an ever-tightening leash — especially with regards to a mysterious break-in at the Democratic National Committee’s Watergate headquarters. Cast members include Diane Lane, Michael C. Hall, Josh Lucas, Tom Sizemore and Bruce Greenwood. Directed by Peter Landesman (Concussion, Parkland).
Kind of timely.

Don Johnson, Fred Melamed and Udo Kier are also part of the cast. Directed by S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk).
Trailer gives some tonally mixed messages how serious this will be. But, as festival reviews from Venice confirm, Vaughn is trying something different.

A bit ominous that the movie will debut on Google Play.

Drama spanning over a decade from the early 1950s through to the mid-60s, about a young girl's first experience with love. In this case, her first love is God. She finds herself struggling with issues of faith, sexuality, and the changing administration. Melissa Leo, Dianna Agron, Liana Liberato and Denis O'Hare are also part of the cast.

UK trailer version for comedic drama directed by George Clooney (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, The Ides of March, Good Night, and Good Luck.), based on a script by Clooney, the Coen Brothers and his frequent collaborator Grant Heslov. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. Julianne Moore, Glenn Fleshler and Oscar Isaac are also part of the cast.

Molly's Game     HD720p 92MB
Thriller that tells the story of Molly Bloom (Jessica Chastain) a beautiful, young, Olympic-class skier who ran the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer (Idris Elba), who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe. Kevin Costner, Michael Cera, Chris O'Dowd and Bill Camp are also part of the cast. Directorial debut of renowned screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, Steve Jobs, The West Wing).
If you like what you see, and want to shorten the waiting period until the movie gets released, I recommend watching Miss Sloane.

The Death of Stalin     HD720p 21MB
Dark comedy about the internal political landscape of 1950’s Soviet Russia, directed by writer/director Armando Iannucci (In the Loop, Veep, Alan Partridge). In the days following Stalin's collapse, his core team of ministers tussle for control; some want positive change in the Soviet Union, others have more sinister motives. Their one common trait? They’re all just desperately trying to remain alive. All-star cast includes Steve Buscemi, Jason Isaacs, Jeffrey Tambor, Rupert Friend, Andrea Riseborough, Simon Russell Beale, Paddy Considine, Michael Palin and Olga Kurylenko.
Hilarious. Looks like some of the scenes could've easily been taken from the current White House.

The Florida Project     HD720p 82MB
Moving and poignant look at childhood. Set on a stretch of highway just outside the imagined utopia of Disney World, the movie follows 6-year-old Moonee and her rebellious mother Halley over a single summer. The two live week to week at a budget motel, but despite these surroundings, the precocious and ebullient Moonee is filled with joy, her endless afternoons overflowing with mischief and adventure as she and her ragtag playmates fearlessly explore the unique world into which they’ve been thrown. As Moonee and Halley make the most of each day —including their alternately friendly and argumentative encounters with the motel's stern but compassionate manager (Willem Dafoe) - the film demonstrates that anywhere can be a Magic Kingdom. Directed by Sean Baker (Tangerine, Starlet).
This looks nice. Different role than usual for Dafoe. Was very well received at festivals.

The Wilde Wedding     HD720p 64MB
Comedy in which a now-retired film star (Glenn Close) prepares for her wedding to husband number four (Patrick Stewart) after a whirlwind courtship. At her upstate New York home – in the presence of both her first husband (John Malkovich), and their collective families (Minnie Driver, Jack Davenport, Yael Stone, Peter Facinelli, Noah Emmerich, Grace Van Patten) – the long summer weekend offers the opportunity for everyone to get to know each other a bit more intimately. As sexual sparks begin to fly, there are unforeseen consequences abound.
I fear it will be not as funny as it should be given its cast.

First They Killed My Father     HD720p 21MB
Drama based on the memoir by Cambodian-born Loung Ung, which recounts the author’s horrifying childhood experiences under the murderous Khmer Rouge regime in her native Cambodia. Directed by Angelina Jolie (By the Sea, Unbroken, In the Land of Blood and Honey).
There's apparently already some controversy about the movie. It will start streaming September 15 on Netflix.

Mother!     HD720p 80MB
Trailer for a psychological horror thriller written and directed by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream). Brief summary reads that a couple's (Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem) relationship is tested when uninvited guests (Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer) arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.
Will take part in the official competition next month in Venice. I'll edit the post when a technically better version becomes available. Done, entry edited.

Marjorie Prime     HD720p 15MB
Drama set in the near future, a time of artificial intelligence: 86-year-old Marjorie (Lois Smith) - a jumble of disparate, fading memories - has a handsome new companion (Jon Hamm) who looks like her deceased husband and is programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. His immersive presence ignites feelings and memories both good and troubling for Marjorie, her daughter (Geena Davis), and her son-in-law (Tim Robbins). Directed by Michael Almereyda (Hamlet, Experimenter, Nadja).
You can see that it was based on a play. Was mostly well received at Sundance.

Call Me By Your Name     HD720p 83MB
Relationship drama set during the summer of 1983 in northern Italy, in which Elio Perlman (Timothée Chalamet), a 17-year-old American-Italian boy, spends his days in his family's seventeenth century villa lazily transcribing music and flirting with his friend Marzia. One day Oliver (Armie Hammer), a charming, 24-year-old American scholar working on his doctorate, arrives as the annual summer intern tasked with helping Elio's father (Michael Stuhlbarg), an eminent professor specializing in Greco-Roman culture. Amid the sun-drenched splendor of this sensual setting, Elio and Oliver discover the heady beauty of awakening desire over the course of a summer that will change their lives forever. Directed by Luca Guadagnino (A Bigger Splash, I Am Love).
Was very well received at festivals.

Loving Vincent     HD720p 71MB
A fully oil painted feature film, that brings the artwork of Vincent van Gogh to life in an exploration of the complicated life and controversial death of one of history’s most celebrated artists. More than six years in the making with the help of 125 specially trained painters, the movie is a uniquely animated film composed of 65,000 painted frames. Among the actors that are painted are Douglas Booth, Jerome Flynn, Chris O'Dowd, Saoirse Ronan, Eleanor Tomlinson, Aidan Turner, John Sessions and Helen McCrory.
The style is clearly based on van Gogh's. But is looks similar to the rotoscoping used in Waking Life. But certainly an interesting mix of film and painting.

LBJ     HD720p 24MB
Biopic about U.S. President Lyndon Baines Johnson from his young days in West Texas to the White House, directed by Rob Reiner (A Few Good Men, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally). After John F. Kennedy's assassination in November 1963, it fell immediately to Vice President Johnson (Woody Harrelson) to take up the mantle of Commander in Chief. No other president of the last century began his time in office under such sombre circumstances, and few have begun their terms attempting to navigate such national turmoil. This was the era of the Civil Rights Movement and the escalation of the Vietnam War. Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jeffrey Donovan, Richard Jenkins and Bill Pullman are also part of the cast.
Festival reviews from last fall weren't too kind.

Suburbicon     HD720p 89MB
Comedic drama directed by George Clooney (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, The Ides of March, Good Night, and Good Luck.), based on a script by Clooney, the Coen Brothers and his frequent collaborator Grant Heslov. Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns ... the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. Movie will take part in the official competition in Venice.

Brad's Status     HD720p 25MB
Comedic drama in which Brad (Ben Stiller) has a satisfying career and a comfortable life in suburban Sacramento where he lives with his sweet-natured wife, Melanie (Jenna Fischer), and their musical prodigy son, Troy (Austin Abrams), but it’s not quite what he imagined during his college glory days. Showing Troy around Boston, where Brad went to university, he can’t help comparing his life with those of his four best college friends: a Hollywood bigshot (Mike White), a hedge-fund founder (Luke Wilson), a tech entrepreneur (Jemaine Clement), and a political pundit and bestselling author (Michael Sheen). As he imagines their wealthy, glamorous lives, he wonders if cozy middle-class domesticity is the best he will ever achieve. Also written and directed by Mike White (Year of the Dog).
The fact that the trailer seems to show the whole story arc notwithstanding, looks amusing.

Clash - Eshtebak     HD720p 73MB
As the President of the United States, already being sued for inciting violence at his campaign rallies, openly encourages more police violence, a trailer for a drama from Egypt set entirely within the confines of a police van. It dramatizes the ongoing political unrest in Egypt two years after the Arab Spring. It’s 2013 and mass protests have led to the ouster of the ruling Muslim Brotherhood by the army. A series of arrests finds rival demonstrators trapped in a paddywagon together under the threat of impossibly stifling heat. From this simple setup, it weaves a white-knuckled tale of resistance and shared humanity that artfully evokes the political fault lines in the Arab world’s most populous nation.
Was the official submission of Egypt in the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar category.

Brigsby Bear     HD720p 77MB
Full trailer, now with dialogue, for this comedic drama described as being "funny, sweet and appropriately deranged". After 25 years of secluded existence with his protective parents (Mark Hamill, Jane Adams) in their isolated, off-the-grid home, James (Kyle Mooney) is tossed out into a new life in relatively daunting Cedar Hills, Utah. As his world upends, the most shocking revelation to James is that he’s the only person who has ever watched his favorite television program, Brigsby Bear Adventures. Struggling to adjust to the show’s abrupt end, he begins to see Brigsby’s lessons as his only way to make sense of a big, scary new world, and he decides to make a movie to end Brigsby’s story - and re-begin his own. Claire Danes, Greg Kinnear, Kate Lyn Sheil and Andy Samberg are also part of the cast.

Ready Player One     HD720p 91MB   HD1080p 172MB
First trailer for this sci-fi, action adventure directed by Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, Minority Report) based on the novel from Ernest Cline. Set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When he dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger. Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, Simon Pegg, Hannah John-Kamen and T.J. Miller are also part of the cast.
The novel gets described as "The Holy Grail of Pop Culture". Ok. A second trailer may change that, but the only thing I'm excited about so far is the trailer's use of Rush's Tom Sawyer.

The Party     HD720p 14MB
Short trailer from France for this comedy wrapped around a tragedy that unfolds in real time in a house in London in the present day. Janet (Kristin Scott Thomas) is hosting an intimate gathering of friends to celebrate her promotion to Shadow Minister of Health in the party of opposition. Her husband Bill (Timothy Spall) seems preoccupied. As their friends (Patricia Clarkson, Bruno Ganz, Emily Mortimer, Cillian Murphy, Cherry Jones) arrive, some of whom have their own dramatic news to share, the soirée gradually unravels. An announcement by Bill provokes a series of revelations that rapidly escalate into all-out confrontation. Written and directed by Sally Potter (Orlando, Yes, Ginger & Rosa).
Probably the closest we'll ever get to seeing all those wonderful actors perform on a stage.

Rebel in the Rye     HD720p 14MB
Biopic about the early years of writer J. D. Salinger. Set amidst the colorful backdrop of mid-20th century New York City, the movie follows a young Salinger (Nicholas Hoult) as he struggles to find his voice, pursues a love affair with famed socialite Oona O'Neill (Zoey Deutch), and fights on the frontlines of World War II. It's these experiences that will inform the creation of his masterpiece, The Catcher in the Rye, bringing him overnight fame (and notoriety) and leading him to withdraw from the public eye for the rest of his life. Kevin Spacey, Sarah Paulson, Hope Davis Lucy Boynton and Victor Garber are also part of the cast.

Bright     HD720p 30MB
Fantasy action-adventure thriller set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time. It follows two cops (Will Smith, Joel Edgerton) from very different backgrounds, who embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it. Noomi Rapace, Edgar Ramírez, Lucy Fry, Margaret Cho and Ike Barinholtz are also part of the cast. Directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, Fury, Harsh Times).
When first reading that this will premiere on Netflix in December there was some slight disbelief. But after seeing the trailer I tend to think it's the right venue.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie     HD720p 94MB
Comic-Con trailer for another animated movie made to promote the Lego brand. The battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd (Dave Franco), aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu (Jackie Chan), as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon (Justin Theroux), The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their inner power of Spinjitzu.
I hope it makes more sense for the people who are familiar with the animated series on the Cartoon Network on which this is allegedly based on.

Many of the cast members return, additions are Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge and Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster. Pleased to spot that Waititi cast Rachel House from his previous movie.

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes - Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) - it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
J.K. Simmons, Amy Adams, Connie Nielsen, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Amber Heard, Joe Morton, Billy Crudup, Ciarán Hinds, Kiersey Clemons, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg and Henry Cavill are listed as cast member, if the running time permits.

Wonderstruck     HD720p 16MB
First (almost) music-only trailer for the latest movie directed by Todd Haynes (Far from Heaven, Carol, Velvet Goldmine), based on the novel from Brian Selznick (Hugo). Ben and Rose are children from two different eras who secretly wish their lives were different. Ben longs for the father he has never known, while Rose dreams of a mysterious actress (Julianne Moore) whose life she chronicles in a scrapbook. When Ben discovers a puzzling clue in his home and Rose reads an enticing headline in the newspaper, both children set out on quests to find what they are missing that unfold with mesmerizing symmetry. Michelle Williams has a small role.
Was not as well received at Cannes as Haynes' previous movies.

Proud Mary     HD720p 75MB
Action movie about a hit woman (Taraji P. Henson) working for an organized crime family in Boston, whose life is completely turned around when she meets a young boy whose path she crosses when a professional hit goes bad. Billy Brown, Danny Glover, Neal McDonough and Xander Berkeley are also part of the cast. Directed by Babak Najafi (London Has Fallen, Easy Money II).
It's starting to get crowded in the cool hitman genre.

Goon: Last of the Enforcer     HD720p 79MB
Trailer from Canada for the sequel. It's a new day for the Halifax Highlanders. A pro lockout has reunited old teammates and brought a crew of new players to the bench; notably missing from the line-up, however, is everyone’s favourite enforcer and heart of the team, Doug “The Thug” Glatt (Sean William Scott). Sidelined after one too many hits and now married with a baby on the way, he's hanging up his skates and settling into life as an insurance salesman. But when his nemesis Anders Cain (Wyatt Russell) is made captain of the Highlanders and new ownership threatens to tear his team apart, Doug is compelled back into action. Jay Baruchel, Elisha Cuthbert, Alison Pill, Marc-André Grondin, Kim Coates, Callum Keith Rennie, T.J. Miller and Liev Schreiber are also part of the cast. Baruchel also directs.
Reviews from Canada aren't too kind. It's apparently also even more brutal than the first one.

Charlotte Gainsbourg, Val Kilmer, Sofia Helin, David Dencik and J.K. Simmons are also part of the cast.
Tense is fine, I only often wish such movies were less gruesome.

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women     HD720p 84MB
Biographical drama described as a a superhero origin tale unlike any other. It tells the story of what inspired Harvard psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston (Luke Evans) to create the iconic Wonder Woman character in the 1940's. While Marston's feminist superhero was criticized by censors for her 'sexual perversity', he was keeping a secret that could have destroyed him.His muses for the Wonder Woman character were his wife Elizabeth Marston (Rebecca Hall) and their lover Olive Byrne (Bella Heathcote), two empowered women who defied convention: working with Marston on human behavior research - while building a hidden life with him that rivaled the greatest of superhero disguises. Connie Britton is also part of the cast. Written and directed by Angela Robinson (D.E.B.S.).
First thought this is a cheap attempt to piggy-back on the Wonder Woman movie. But this is an interesting story.

A Wrinkle In Time     HD720p 69MB   HD1080p 127MB
First trailer for this epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle's classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and ultimately, the triumph of love. After the disappearance of her scientist father (Chris Pine), three peculiar beings (Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling) send Meg, her brother, and her friend to space in order to find him. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, André Holland and Zach Galifianakis are also part of the cast. Directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma, The 13th, Middle of Nowhere). To be in theatres next spring.
I suspect you have to be familiar with the book to be able to appreciate the trailer.

Blade Runner 2049     HD720p 89MB   HD1080p 166MB
Second full trailer for the sequel that takes places thirty years after the events of the first film. A new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years. Very diverse cast includes Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Barkhad Abdi, Hiam Abbass, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto. Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario, Incendies).
The visuals are still tempting. But, I hesitate to mention it, I have problems with Gosling and Leto here.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi     HD720p 117MB   HD1080p 197MB
Three minute behind the scenes featurette for the eighth episode, written and directed by Rian Johnson (Looper, Brick, Brothers Bloom), to be in theatres at Christmas. There isn't much yet in terms of official summary other than Rey continues her epic journey with Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker. Many actors from the last few decades return, new additions are Laura Dern, Benicio Del Toro and Kelly Marie Tran. Last time it was Daniel Craig, this time imdb lists Tom Hardy as a possible stormtrooper.
As much as I enjoy seeing the footage, the actors and the characters, the promotional lines they are forces to say are so off-putting. Wish there was a version without that.

Women Who Kill     HD720p 73MB
Dry comedic drama in which commitment phobic Morgan and her ex-girlfriend Jean, hosts of a female serial killer-centric podcast, still show all the signs of being a couple. But everything changes when Morgan falls hard and fast for the mysterious Simone (Sheila Vand), who may or may not be a killer.
Looks entertaining.

The Layover     HD720p 93MB
Lowbrow comedy about two single female best friends (Alexandra Daddario, Kate Upton) who find themselves competing for the same guy (Matt Barr) during an extended layover in St. Louis when their plane is rerouted due to a hurricane warning. Matt Jones, Rob Corddry, Kal Penn and Molly Shannon are also part of the cast. Directed by William H. Macy (Rudderless).
Not sure what compelled Macy to direct this. Besides the obvious.

Darkest Hour     HD720p 91MB
Historical drama that begins on the eve of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill (Gary Oldman) must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation. As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent, and with an unprepared public, a skeptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history. Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James, Stephen Dillane and Ben Mendelsohn are also part of the cast. Directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice, Hanna).
Bring on the awards! IMDb's trivia page often has become full of inane facts, but in this case I'm amused to learn that Oldman is the fifth 'Harry Potter' actor to portray Churchill after Michael Gambon, Timothy Spall, Brendan Gleeson and Robert Hardy.

Final Portrait     HD720p 15MB
UK trailer for this biographical drama with comedic elements set in Paris in 1964 that peers into the workshop and personality of Swiss painter and sculptor Alberto Giacometti. Giacometti (Geoffrey Rush) is the one who decides when it is time for work, drink, doubt, destruction, flirtation or laughter in his studio. An established artist whose works fetch record prices, he hides his earnings in his studio. This is just one of the causes of many an argument with his wife (Sylvie Testud), another being the fact that his mistress (Clémence Poésy) receives all his attention. His brother (Tony Shalhoub), also an artist, is all too familiar with his idiosyncrasies. One day, Giacometti asks American art critic and biographer James Lord (Armie Hammer) to pose for him. But their sittings, scheduled to take a week, are frequently interrupted by visits to the bistro or long car rides, with no end in sight. Written and directed by Stanley Tucci (Big Night, Blind Date, The Impostors).
I suspect the first half of the trailer overstates the funny bits, but this looks much more interesting and entertaining than most biopics. It helps that it takes place over the course of about two weeks.

Dave Made a Maze     HD720p 77MB
Indie comedy in which an artist who has yet to complete anything significant in his career, builds a cardboard box fort in his living room out of pure frustration, only to wind up trapped by the fantastical pitfalls, booby traps, and critters of his own creation. Ignoring his warnings, his girlfriend leads a band of oddball explorers on a rescue mission. Once inside, they find themselves trapped in an ever-changing supernatural world, threatened by booby traps and pursued by a bloodthirsty Minotaur.
This looks like a lot of fun and highly inventive.

Borg vs. McEnroe     HD720p 24MB
European trailer for this sports drama set in 1980 in London. The rainiest summer in decades. The world is waiting to see the number one tennis player in the world, Björn Borg (Sverrir Gudnason), claim his fifth Wimbledon title. But few know of the drama behind the scenes: at only 24, Borg is close to the end - run-down, worn out and ridden with anxiety. Meanwhile, the challenger John McEnroe (Shia LaBeouf), 20, has decided to replace his former hero on the Wimbledon throne. Stellan Skarsgård, Tuva Novotny and David Bamber are also part of the cast.
Looks more interesting than I would've assumed. Though it is worth mentioning that both lead actors are more than a decade older than the characters they are portraying.

Footnotes - Sur quel pied danser     HD720p 67MB
If you want your musical a little less Hollywood glamorous and more working-class socialist, but still whimsical and not too realistic: It's about Julie (Pauline Etienne), a young woman struggling to make ends meet. After making friends with the spunky receptionist and a charming truck driver, Julie thinks the hard times are behind her. But her dreams of stability collapse when management threatens to close the factory. As her group of female colleagues go on strike, the truck drivers side with the company's scheming CEO. Julie must choose whether to keep a low profile (and a shot at permanent employment) or to fight back on the picket line.
Now in limited release in the US.

I Do... Until I Don't    HD720p 82MB
Ensemble comedy investigating the concept that marriage should be a seven-year contract with an option to renew. Said ensemble consists of Lake Bell, Ed Helms, Mary Steenburgen, Paul Reiser, Amber Heard, Wyatt Cenac and Dolly Wells. Second movie also written and directed by Lake Bell (In a World...).
So far doesn't look as compelling as her first movie. But maybe for a change not everything is shown in the trailer.

Breathe    HD720p 39MB
Inspiring true love story between Robin Cavendish (Andrew Garfield) and his wife Diana (Claire Foy), an adventurous couple who refuse to give up in the face of a devastating disease. When Robin is struck down by polio at the age of 28, he is confined to a hospital bed and given only a few months to live. With the help of Diana's twin brothers (Tom Hollander) and the groundbreaking ideas of inventor Teddy Hall (Hugh Bonneville), the two dare to escape the hospital ward to seek out a full and passionate life together. Directorial debut of Andy Serkis, taking a well-deserved break from motion-capture acting.

She secretly moves to Los Angeles to get close to Taylor Sloane (Elizabeth Olsen) - an Instagram "lifestyle guru" with a fabulous artist boyfriend, a camera-ready terrier, and an array of new products and brands to promote to her followers. After Ingrid adopts a Taylor-made identity for herself, her machinations to prove she’s BFF material for her Insta idol are underway—that is, until she meets Taylor’s obnoxious brother Nicky, who threatens to tear down her façade. O'Shea Jackson Jr., Wyatt Russell and Pom Klementieff are also part of the cast.

By the end of the journey, our moms will redefine how to make the holidays special for all and discover a closer relationship with their mothers. Again written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore who wrote The Hangover and directed 21 & Over.

Battle of the Sexes     HD720p 28MB
Comedic sports drama based on the 1973 tennis match between World number one Billie Jean King (Emma Stone) and ex-champ and serial hustler Bobby Riggs (Steve Carell). The match caught the zeitgeist and sparked a global conversation on gender equality, spurring on the feminist movement. Trapped in the media glare, King and Riggs were on opposites sides of a binary argument, but off-court each was fighting more personal and complex battles. Andrea Riseborough, Sarah Silverman, Bill Pullman, Alan Cumming and Elisabeth Shue are also part ot the cast. Directed by Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton (Little Miss Sunshine, Ruby Sparks), screenplay by Simon Beaufoy.

The Greatest Showman     HD720p 86MB

Barnum (Hugh Jackman) that celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Paul Sparks are also part of the cast.
To be in theatres at Christmas.

Columbus     HD720p 11MB
Atmospheric, quiet drama that was well received in Sundance. When a renowned architecture scholar falls suddenly ill during a speaking tour, his son Jin (John Cho) finds himself stranded in Columbus, Indiana - a small Midwestern city celebrated for its many significant modernist buildings. He strikes up a friendship with Casey (Haley Lu Richardson), a young architecture enthusiast who works at the local library. As their intimacy develops, the two explore both the town and their conflicted emotions: Jin's estranged relationship with his father, and Casey's reluctance to leave Columbus and her mother. Parkey Posey, Rory Culkin and Michelle Forbes are also part of the cast.
This looks nice.

Pitch Perfect 3     HD720p 98MB
First trailer for the third instalment. After the highs of winning the World Championships, the Bellas find themselves split apart and discovering there aren’t job prospects for making music with your mouth. Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins return, they are joined by John Lithgow and Ruby Rose.

Brigsby Bear     HD720p 55MB
For those who like their comedic dramas "funny, sweet and appropriately deranged".
Trailer certainly confirms the weird part, Michel Gondry comes to mind.

Marshall     HD720p 93MB
Long before he sat on the United States Supreme Court Thurgood Marshall (Chadwick Boseman) was a young rabble-rousing attorney for the NAACP. The movie tells the true story of his greatest challenge in those early days – a fight he fought alongside attorney Sam Friedman (Josh Gad), a young lawyer with no experience in criminal law: the case of black chauffeur Joseph Spell (Sterling K. Brown), accused by his white employer, Eleanor Strubing (Kate Hudson), of sexual assault and attempted murder. Dan Stevens and James Cromwell are also part of the cast.
Judging by the trailer, this won't be a staid courtroom drama.

The Only Living Boy in New York     HD720p 97MB
Relationship drama about Thomas Webb (Callum Turner), the son of a publisher (Pierce Brosnan) and his artistic wife (Cynthia Nixon), who has just graduated from college and is trying to find his place in the world. Moving from his parents' Upper West Side apartment to the Lower East Side, he befriends his neighbor W.F. (Jeff Bridges), a shambling alcoholic writer who dispenses worldly wisdom alongside healthy shots of whiskey. Thomas’ world begins to shift when he discovers that his long-married father is having an affair with a seductive younger woman (Kate Beckinsale). Kiersey Clemons is also part of the cast. Directed by Marc Webb ((500) Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man, Gifted).

Stronger     HD720p 89MB

Waiting for her at the finish line when the blast occurs, he loses both his legs in the attack. After regaining consciousness in the hospital, Jeff is able to help law enforcement identify one of the bombers, but his own battle has just begun.
Doesn't get more Oscar-baity. Watching the trailer, you pretty much have seen the whole movie.

Ferdinand     HD720p 91MB
Another trailer for this animated family movie to be in theatres in December. Set in Spain, it tells the story of a giant bull (John Cena) with a big heart. Together the three discover a pattern in the violence leading them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a World War in the Middle East. Directed by Michael Cuesta (Kill the Messenger).

Detroit     HD720p 100MB
Second trailer for this action thriller that tells the gripping story of one of the darkest moments during the civil unrest that rocked Detroit in the summer of ‘67. Cast members include John Boyega, Will Poulter, Jacob Latimore, Jason Mitchell, Hannah Murray, Kaitlyn Dever, Jack Reynor, John Krasinski and Anthony Mackie. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Strange Days, Zero Dark Thirty), like Bigelow's previous two movies again written by Mark Boal.
Still not sure if Bigelow will do the topic justice, but it sure is another tense trailer.

Tour De Pharmacy     HD720p 17MB
Mockumentary - well, sort of - set in 1982, during a dark and fictitious time in cycling history, the sport's most venerable, time-honored race was marred by the doping of virtually all of its competitors. Riddled with nefarious characters, that year's competition was a hornet's nest of moral depravity. Through the perspective of five riders, the film gives an inside look into the grim realities of the darkest event in a sport notoriously tainted by controversy. If the running time permits, there will be appearances by Andy Samberg, Orlando Bloom, John Cena, Daveed Diggs, Maya Rudolph, Dolph Lundgren, James Marsden, Will Forte, Freddie Highmore, J.J. Abrams, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kevin Bacon, Joe Buck, Nathan Fielder, Danny Glover, Jeff Goldblum, Julia Ormond, Phylicia Rashad, Chris Webber, Mike Tyson and ... Lance Armstrong. Directed by Jake Szymanski (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates).
Will premiere on HBO July 8th.

Thank You For Your Service     HD720p 83MB

Cast members include Miles Teller, Haley Bennett, Joe Cole, Amy Schumer, Beulah Koale, Scott Haze and Keisha Castle-Hughes. Directorial debut of Jason Hall who wrote the screenplay adaptation for American Sniper.
Difficult to say at this point if the movie is aiming at awards season.

Home Again     HD720p 97MB
Second trailer for this modern romantic comedy in which a woman (Reese Witherspoon) who recently separated from her husband (Michael Sheen) decides to start over by moving back to her hometown of Los Angeles with her two young daughters. During a night out on her 40th birthday, she meets three aspiring filmmakers (Nat Wolff, Robb Derringer, Pico Alexander) who happen to be in need of a place to live. She agrees to let the guys stay in her guest house temporarily, but the arrangement ends up unfolding in unexpected ways. Her unlikely new family and new romance comes to a crashing halt when her ex-husband shows up, suitcase in hand.

Lost in Paris - Paris pieds nus     HD720p 87MB
Trailer for the latest charming movie written, directed and acted by Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon (The Fairy, Rumba, Iceberg) that again puts the emphasis on physical comedy, style and arranged tableaus and has very little dialogue. This time they are playing a small-town Canadian librarian and a strangely seductive, oddly egotistical vagabond. When Fiona’s orderly life is disrupted by a letter of distress from her 88-year-old Aunt Martha (Emmanuelle Riva) who is living in Paris, Fiona hops on the first plane she can and arrives only to discover that Martha has disappeared. In an avalanche of spectacular disasters, she encounters Dom, the affable, but annoying tramp who just won’t leave her alone. Pierre Richard is also part of the cast.
Now in limited release in the US.

Black Panther     HD720p 71MB   HD1080p 130MB
First trailer for another movie set in the Marvel Comic Universe, which, for a change, doesn't star "another white dude". It follows T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, his mettle as king - and Black Panther - is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis are also part of the cast. Directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station).
To be in theatres next February.

The Trip to Spain     HD720p 25MB
After jaunts through northern England and Italy, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon embark on another deliciously deadpan culinary road trip. This time around, the guys head to Spain to sample the best of the country’s gastronomic offerings in between rounds of their off-the-cuff banter. Over plates of pintxos and paella, the pair exchange barbs and their patented celebrity impressions, as well as more serious reflections on what it means to settle into middle age. Again directed by Michael Winterbottom.
This is a trailer for the movie version, I believe corresponding the six TV episodes were already broadcast in the UK.

Flatliners     HD720p 93MB
Trailer for the remake in which five medical students (Ellen Page, Diego Luna, James Norton, Nina Dobrev, Kiersey Clemons), obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. But as their experiments become increasingly dangerous, they are each haunted by the sins of their pasts, brought on by the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side. Directed by Niels Arden Oplev (Dead Man Down, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
If I had a list of movies I wanted to see a remake of, this one wouldn't be particularly high on it.

Landline     HD720p 91MB
Comedic drama set in 1990s Manhattan. When two sisters suspect their father (John Turturro) may be having an affair, it sends them into a tailspin that reveals cracks in the family façade. For the first time, older sister Dana (Jenny Slate), recently engaged and struggling with her own fidelity, finds herself bonding with her wild teenage sister Ali (Abby Quinn). The two try to uncover the truth without tipping off their mother (Edie Falco) and discover the messy reality of love and sex in the process. Jay Duplass and Finn Wittrock are also part of the cast. Movie reunites slate with director Gillian Robespierre (Obvious Child).
Was mostly well received in Sundance. Which isn't that surprising since it looks like the quintessential Sundance movie.

Jungle     HD720p 19MB
Survival thriller based on a true story. In the early 1980s, 22-year-old Israeli backpacker Yossi Ghinsberg (Daniel Radcliffe) and two friends set off from the Bolivian city of La Paz on what was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime. Leading the way into the uncharted Amazon was an Austrian expat (Thomas Kretschmann), who had met the friends just days before and claimed to be familiar with the region. But their dream trip soon turned into a wilderness nightmare from which not all of the men returned.

Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Edge of Tomorrow).
Story is tangentially related to last year's The Infiltrator starring Bryan Cranston.

Victoria and Abdul     HD720p 90MB
Period drama with comedic elements that tells the story of an unexpected friendship in the later years of Queen Victoria’s (Judi Dench) remarkable rule. When Abdul Karim (Ali Fazal), a young clerk, travels from India to participate in the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, he is surprised to find favor with the Queen herself. As the she questions the constrictions of her long-held position, the two forge an unlikely and devoted alliance with a loyalty to one another that her household and inner circle all attempt to destroy. Simon Callow, Michael Gambon, Eddie Izzard, Tim Pigott-Smith and Olivia Williams are also part of the cast. Directed by Stephen Frears (The Queen, Florence Foster Jenkins, Philomena).

The Little Hours     HD720p 77MB
Greenband trailer version for this not entirely time period conform comedy about three medieval nuns (Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, Kate Micucci) who lead a simple life in their convent. Their days are spent chafing at monastic routine, spying on one another, and berating the estate’s day laborer. After a particularly vicious insult session drives the peasant away, Father Tommasso (John C. Reilly) brings on new hired hand Massetto (Dave Franco), a virile young servant forced into hiding by his angry lord. Introduced to the sisters as a deaf-mute to discourage temptation, Massetto struggles to maintain his cover as the repressed nunnery erupts in a whirlwind of pansexual horniness, substance abuse, and wicked revelry. Fred Armisen, Molly Shannon, Jemima Kirke and, Nick Offerman are also part of the cast. Written and directed by Jeff Baena (Life After Beth, Joshy).

The Hero     HD720p 87MB
Drama about an aging Western icon (Sam Elliott) with a golden voice, but his best performances are decades behind him. He spends his days reliving old glories and smoking too much weed with his former-co-star-turned-dealer (Nick Offerman) until a surprise cancer diagnosis brings his priorities into sharp focus. He soon strikes up an exciting, contentious relationship with stand-up comic (Laura Prepon), and he attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter (Krysten Ritter), all while searching for one final role to cement his legacy.
Not particular original, but it is nice to see Elliott in a leading role and enjoy some aural porn.

Mindhorn     HD720p 16MB
UK comedy that's in many countries already streaming on Netflix for a while. Washed-up Richard Thorncroft (Julian Barratt) peaked with hit 1980s detective show Mindhorn, playing the titular Isle of Man sleuth with a robotic eye that allowed him to literally "see the truth". Decades later, when a deranged Manx criminal demands Mindhorn as his nemesis, Thorncroft returns to the scene of his greatest triumphs for one last chance to reignite his glory days, professional credibility and even romance with former co-star/paramour Patricia Deville (Essie Davis). Andrea Riseborough is also part of the cast, Steve Coogan and Kenneth Branagh have cameo appearances.

Murder on the Orient Express     HD720p 66MB
First trailer for a new adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel, directed by Kenneth Branagh (Much Ado About Nothing, Thor, Cinderella). What starts out as a lavish train ride through Europe quickly unfolds into one of the most stylish, suspenseful and thrilling mysteries ever told. The tale of thirteen strangers (among them Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad, Olivia Colman) stranded on a train, where everyone's a suspect. One man (Branagh) must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again.
It kind of lessens the interest if you already know the ending. Assuming Hollywood didn't change it, of course.

Baby Driver     HD720p 71MB   HD1080p 133MB
Another trailer called "TeKillYah" for this action heist movie written and directed by Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, The World's End). It's about a talented, young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams (Lily James), Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom. Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, Jon Bernthal, Eiza González and Flea are also part of the cast.
Further proof that Wright (or whoever cut the trailer) is very capable of editing a trailer to fit the music.

The Mountain Between Us     HD720p 81MB
Action drama in which, stranded after a tragic plane crash, two strangers (Kate Winslet, Idris Elba) must forge a connection to survive the extreme elements of a remote snow covered mountain. When they realize help is not coming, they embark on a perilous journey across hundreds of miles of wilderness, pushing one another to endure and discovering strength they never knew possible. Directed by Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now, Omar).

6 Days     HD720p 21MB
Intense thriller from the UK based on the events that took place in April 1980, when six armed gunmen stormed the Iranian Embassy in Princes Gate, London, taking 26 people inside hostage. Over the next six days a tense standoff took place, all the while a group of highly trained soldiers from the SAS prepared for a raid, the likes of which the world had never seen before. Cast members include Jamie Bell, Mark Strong, Abbie Cornish and Tim Pigott-Smith.

Good Time     HD720p 70MB
Thriller drama in which, after a botched bank robbery lands his younger brother in prison, Constantine "Connie" Nikas (Robert Pattinson) embarks on a twisted odyssey through the city's underworld in an increasingly desperate - and dangerous - attempt to get him out of jail. Over the course of one adrenalized night, Connie finds himself racing against the clock to save his brother and himself, knowing both their lives hang in the balance. Barkhad Abdi and Jennifer Jason Leigh are also part of the cast.
Movie recently took part in the official competition in Cannes where it was very well received. Pattinson was described as giving a career-peak performance. Which may sound like faint praise, but he really does very well here.

Logan Lucky     HD720p 36MB
Trailer for a caper comedy that marks the return to directing movies of Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's 11-13, Magic Mike, Traffic). Trying to reverse a family curse, brothers Jimmy (Channing Tatum) and Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Daniel Craig, Riley Keough, Seth MacFarlane, Katie Holmes, Sebastian Stan, Katherine Waterston and Hilary Swank are also part of the cast.
Looks like the cast sure had a lot of fun practising their accents. And what a cast it is.

Oh my, Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye. While not as favourable as for the two movies mentioned based on his scripts, festival reviews are still mostly positive.

Not entirely sure, but it looks like they shortened the title to just Valerian.
