Spencer HD720p 33MB
The marriage of Princess Diana (Kristen Stewart) and Prince Charles (Jack Farthing) has long since grown cold. Though rumors of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. There's eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. But this year, things will be profoundly different. The movie is an imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days. Sally Hawkins, Timothy Spall and Sean Harris are also part of the cast. Directed by Pablo Larraín (Jackie, Neruda (Tony Manero), screenplay by Steven Knight (Locke, Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things).
Festival reviews are very favourable, many laud Stewart's performance. But I can't say I particularly care about the topic. An earlier short teaser: HD720p 46MB.
Passing HD1080p 18MB
Period drama filmed in black and white that marks the directorial debut of Rebecca Hall. It tells the story of two Black women, Irene Redfield (Tessa Thompson) and Clare Kendry (Ruth Negga), who can “pass” as white but choose to live on opposite sides of the color line during the height of the Harlem Renaissance in late 1920s New York. After a chance encounter reunites the former childhood friends one summer afternoon, Irene reluctantly allows Clare into her home, where she ingratiates herself to Irene’s husband (André Holland) and family. Alexander Skarsgård and Bill Camp are also part of the cast.
Was very well received at Sundance. After a brief theatrical run will start streaming on Netflix November 10th.
Finch HD720p 99MB
Sci-fi drama about a man named Finch (Tom Hanks) who embarks on a moving and powerful journey to find a new home for his unlikely family - his beloved dog and a newly created robot (voiced by Caleb Landry Jones) - in a dangerous and ravaged world.
Looks very Tom Hanksy. After a brief theatrical run will start streaming on Apple TV+ November 5th.
Operation Curveball HD720p 78MB
Satire from Germany that tells the grotesque, at times even surreal, true story of how the Iraq war was started based on nothing but fake intelligence and the involvement of the German secret service.
From what I've read, this is really funny. At least for a German movie. And, well, if you ignore that this is more or less really what happened. Who doesn't remember the day Colin Powell shredded his credibility at the United Nations while the whole world was watching in order to justify another war that Dick Cheney was desperately longing for.
However, it irritates me that in the trailer the whole German part of the dialogue is dubbed into English. Here's the German trailer, unfortunately without subtitles.
The Many Saints of Newark HD720p 95MB
Second trailer for the prequel to "The Sopranos". Young Anthony Soprano (Michael Gandolfini) is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti (Alessandro Nivola), who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities - and whose influence over his nephew will help make the impressionable teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we’ll later come to know: Tony Soprano. Leslie Odom Jr., Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll, Vera Farmiga, Billy Magnussen and Ray Liotta are also part of the cast. Directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Terminator Genisys, and also a few episodes of the TV series).
Will have a theatrical release but will also start streaming on HBO Max starting October 1st.
