OH WOW. I did not recognize Alan Cumming in any of that. The last time Jessica Lange and Angelica Huston's half-brother Danny Huston shared a screen - it was American Horror Story: Coven. I've adored Danny ever since that show. He's got a gravitas. Before anyone whines about accents - they were all thicker back then. :) At least it isn't Kenneth Branagh trying to be Marlowe. Oooof. I could see Danny DeVito pulling a more convincing Hercule Poirot. Ken's good - but he's filling the shoes of Albert Finney and David Suchet. Just like Liam is filling the shoes of Dick Powell (film, radio, TV), Humphrey Bogart (film), and Gerald Mohr (radio) - the last looked the most like the image Chandler seemed to be trying to summon in our heads. I just discovered Danny Glover played Philip Marlowe in 1995 on Showtime. It was The Red Wind - I gotta find that, it was a fine episode on the radio. If Danny does the narrative at the beginning - all will be forgiven no matter how bad it goes. That narrative was awesome.
