Claire Foy is also part of the cast. Directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Sunshine, Trainspotting).
The movie currently takes part in the official competition in Venice. Festival reviews laud the central performances. Some of them also point out it's mainly chronicling the events without judging. Though it certainly looks entertaining, with Boyle's style matching the tabloid. It's originally based on a play.
In some countries there will be a theatrical release. In the US and Latin America it will start streaming on Netflix January 8th.

War drama based on true events that begins in Baghdad, in 2003, when US Marine Lou D’Alessandro (Boyd Holbrook) and his unit open fire on two ostensibly hostile vehicles. Three passengers are killed before it’s revealed that those vehicles were carrying three generations of a civilian family. A decade later, following a dishonorable discharge, he's back in San Diego, haunted by the incident, unsupported by Veterans Affairs, and unable to continue the life he started before the war. Meanwhile, Mariam (Hiam Abbass), the matriarch of the family torn apart on that fateful day, has begun a new life in Glendale with her daughter’s young family. She’s profiled by journalist Michael Reid (Kenneth Branagh), who was also in Baghdad when the tragedy unfolded. Desperate to explain his side of the story, Lou asks Michael to broker a meeting with Mariam.
Since we live in a time when the US bombs schools and weddings, and performs extrajudicial killings on a weekly basis, this looks timely.

An illustrious cast, though the tone takes some getting used to.

Directed by Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips, Green Zone, The Bourne Ultimatum).
The action and its sound design could be taken from another Bourne film.

Wallets stuffed with cash have been replaced by easily canceled credit cards, and he struggles to make ends meet as he cares for his disabled wife. When he unwittingly purloins and fences a valuable USB stick, he finds himself in a race against time to return the loot or face the rage of a vengeful crime family. Giancarlo Esposito, Will Price, Tatiana Maslany, Victoria Moroles and Steve Buscemi area also part of the cast.
Festival reviews are very favourable.

Almost funny how hard they try to cram Matchbox product references into the story. Almost. Will start streaming on AppleTV on October 9th.

Heroes from three different worlds must unite when they're thrust together to confront a catastrophic danger that could destroy everything they know. I'm unsure if there will be enough time to give all of them a line of dialogue, but cast members include Pedro Pascal, Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Alan Cumming, Chris Evans, Kelsey Grammar, and many, many more. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (The Electric State, Welcome to Collinwood, You Me and Dupree.

Biographical story about an unknown actor with an unshakable belief that he wasn’t just meant to write Rocky - he was meant to be Rocky Balboa. Told “no” at every turn, Sylvester Stallone (Anthony Ippolito) bets everything on himself, holding the line on playing the lead against seemingly impossible odds. The result is the ultimate underdog story behind the ultimate underdog movie. Matt Dillon, AnnaSophia Robb, P.J. Byrne, Toby Kebbell, Tracy Letts and Jay Duplass are also part of the cast. Directed by Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, Green Book, There's Something About Mary).
Looks crowd-pleasing in the best possible way. I find it hard to believe, but IMDb says that Stallone commented that he had not been contacted by anyone regarding the film's production, and that he only learned about its existence after reading about it in the news.

UK trailer for this satirical thriller drama about an elementary teacher (Saoirse Ronan) at a ritzy private school, whose class is plagued by the epic bad behaviour of one extremely foul mouthed and disruptive child, Danny. After he has a violent altercation with another student, she's forced to take action. And when Danny doesn’t show up for the next few days, she is shocked at how easily the parents accept his absence — and don't want him back. As things spiral even further out of control, she's caught between her own bad choices, the utter lack of concern from her community, and the less-than-angelic behaviour of her other students.

Slow, but interesting looking satirical drama from the Philippines about Isabel, a 17-year-old from the rural north, who works at a posh country club outside Manila. Amid stifling heat and pervasive drought, she lines up golf balls for powerful men to drive into the carefully manicured verdant horizon. Between shifts, she wanders the immaculate grounds, sampling its luxuries and exploring its liminal spaces. The club’s members, including an industrialist and his expatriate niece, the president and his pampered wife, and a slew of Chinese tourists, engage in a complex dance with the doting and subservient staff. But something is rotting beneath the pristine fairways of the elite resort.
Looks meticulously designed like a Wes Anderson film, contrasting with the serious story. Was very well received at festivals.

Violent action thriller set in 1970s Detroit in which a working-class romantic (Alan Ritchson) is framed by a ruthless gangster (Ben Foster) after falling for his girlfriend (Shailene Woodley). After years in prison, he returns with only one mission: revenge.
Reviews point out that the story is very derivative. But what may make it interesting is that the movie's largely dialogue-free.

Many cast members return, new additions are Robert Pattinson, Anya Taylor-Joy and Isaach De Bankolé.

First trailer for the latest animated movie from Illumination studio, to be in theatres April 2027. It's centered around Joe (Timothée Chalamet), an introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet life alone alongside Fran (Selena Gomez), a brilliant astro-botanist who is developing the world’s first-ever plant-fueled rocket. When Joe and Fran are brought together to prepare for the inaugural launch of this revolutionary rocket, there are immediate sparks, but neither is particularly adept at romance. Life becomes more complicated when three aliens - tiny, unruly and adorable - take refuge in Joe’s home. More voices will be provided by Rob Brydon, Jamie Demetriou, Diane Morgan, Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris.

Trailer for the latest movie directed by Robert Eggers (The Lighthouse, The Witch, Nosferatu), this time it's his take on the Wolfman myth. In medieval Britain, a mysterious creature stalks the foggy countryside, transforming local folklore into terrifying reality as villagers face an ancient supernatural threat. Cast members include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe, Lily-Rose Depp, Bodhi Rae Breathnach, Ralph Ineson and Kate Dickie.
It was fun watching Dafoe and Pattinson go mad on the island as lighthouse keepers. But it's starting to get difficult to keep Eggers' other movies apart. They take themselves so seriously.

Comedic drama in which two aimless young women (Kristen Stewart, Alia Shawkat) who inadvertently gain telepathic abilities after ingesting an experimental drug, pitting them against dangerous rivals pursuing the same powerful substance. LaKeith Stanfield, Tony Hale and Cate Blanchett are also part of the cast, Seth Rogen and Kumail Nanjiani lend their voices to cats. Written and directed and by Stewart's spouse Dylan Meyer.
Probably funnier when you've inhaled something yourself.

Her quest collides with an American GI (Charles Melton) on a harrowing odyssey to rescue his daughter from hell. Kristine Froseth, Havana Rose Liu and Diego Calva are also part of the cast.
Many festival reviews had difficulties saying something positive about the film.

Being New York's full time super-hero protector has Peter rubbing shoulders with Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) and battling Scorpion (Michael Mando), but with the arrival of a new threat, and Peter's powers evolving, things will never be the same again. Sadie Sink is a new addition to the cast. Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Short Term 12, Just Mercy) takes over directing duties.

It follows the parallel lives of a New York author (Oscar Isaac) in the 21st century who embarks on a violent journey after he is recruited by a mafia don (John Malkovich) to steal Italian poet Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy written in the poet’s own hand, and Dante (also Oscar Isaac) in the 14th century seeking inspiration to write his most important work – each man unknowingly connected through time and their obsessive quest for love, beauty, and the divine. Gal Gadot, Gerard Butler, Louis Cancelmi, Sabrina Impacciatore, Franco Nero, Benjamin Clementine, Paolo Bonacelli, Martin Scorsese, Al Pacino and Jason Momoa are also part of the cast.
Premiered out-of-competition last year in Venice where a number of critics described it as overly ambitious but certainly also entertaining. After a brief theatrical release it will start streaming on Netflix June 24th.

I have no doubt this will look impressive on a big movie screen. However, I hesitate to mention it, but I'm not (yet) convinced that Damon, Holland and Pattinson have the necessary gravity to sell an epic.
To shorten the wait until the release, I can recommend Ralph Fiennes' The Return that covers a small part of the story.

Virginia Woolf's Night & Day     HD1080p 25MB
Un-romantic comedic drama based on, you may have guessed it, a novel by Virginia Woolf. It's set in London 1910 and is about a passionate astronomer (Haley Bennett) who does everything she can to avoid romantic love and marriage. Her bold challenge to Edwardian patriarchy is set against the suffragette movement and advances in science and technology. Elyas M’Barek, Lily Allen, Jack Whitehall, Jennifer Saunders, Timothy Spall and Sally Phillips are also part of the cast.
The casting of Elyas M'Barek comes as a bit of a surprise.

They both feel a spark when they meet, but a series of missteps and side quests complicate their night, keeping them apart. Satire based on a French film in which the script is flipped when a ladies man (Sacha Baron Cohen) finds his life upended when he wakes up in a parallel world dominated by women. With the rules of engagement changed, he goes head-to-head with a fiery female colleague (Rosamund Pike). Charles Dance, Emily Mortimer, Richard E. Grant, Fiona Shaw, Weruche Opia and Kadiff Kirwan are also part of the cast. Directed by Thea Sharrock (Wicked Little Letters, Me Before You, The Beautiful Game).
Will probably turn out to be a lot more harmless than expected. But this looks pretty funny. Will start streaming on Netflix on May 22nd.

It's an action drama based on a book by Peter Heller, set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice. It tells the story of Hig (Jacob Elordi), a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist (Josh Brolin), has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world until a mysterious radio transmission spurs him to venture into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exists. Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney, Guy Pearce and Benedict Wong are also part of the cast.

Psychological action adventure about a woman (Charlize Theron) who is testing her limits in the Australian wilderness when she is suddenly ensnared in a deadly game with a ruthless predator (Taron Egerton). Eric Bana is also part of the cast. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur (Contraband, Everest, 2 Guns).
I would assume that Egerton's character at the end will get his comeuppance, or maybe there will be an interesting story turn. But I find the set-up still rather off-putting. Will start streaming on Netflix April 24th.

Darkly comedic family drama set in an opulent villa beneath the Catalonian sun, where American siblings Jack, Ed, Anna and Robert (Jamie Bell, Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Lukas Gage) wallow in isolation and their inherited fortune, eschewing the demands of their blind father (Tracy Letts), and seeking love and validation through each other and their latest designer clothes. When Jack, the eldest brother and linchpin of this family, announces that he is moving in with his girlfriend Martha (Elle Fanning), blood ties are severed and Ed is forced to uncover the truth surrounding their mother’s death.
Looks very stylish, but recent festival reviews from Berlin are not really favourable. If you would prefer to watch a trailer version without German subtitles.

First trailer for the third movie, to be in theatres in December, again directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario, Incendies). It is said to take place 17 years after Part Two. It follows Muad'dib, heir to unimaginable power, as he brings to fruition the ancient scheme to create a superbeing ruler among men, not in the heavens. Many of the previous cast members return, new additions are Robert Pattinson, Anya Taylor-Joy and Isaach De Bankolé.

Action-comedy about two gangsters (Vince Vaughn, James Marsden) and the woman (Eiza González) they love trying to survive the most dangerous night of their lives. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s one wild ingredient added to the mix: a time machine. Keith David and Stephen Root are also part of the cast.
Apparently quite violent. But reviews from the premiere last week at the SWSX festival are very favourable. Will start streaming on Hulu and Disney+ on March 27th.

Dark horror comedy in which Free Eden employee Apple (Lili Reinhart) secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the basement of the mall store after hours - with fellow fruits Cherry (Victoria Pedretti) and Fig (Alexandra Shipp). But when new hire Pumpkin (Lola Tung) challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate.
Festival reviews are a bit mixed, all of them mention Mean Girls as a reference.
