First trailer for Guillermo del Toro's (Pan's Labyrinth, The Shape of Water, Crimson Peak) take on Mary Shelley's classic tale of Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac), a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature (Jacob Elordi) to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation. Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer and Charles Dance are also part of the cast.

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey     HD720p 46MB
Romantic fantasy drama about Sarah (Margot Robbie) and David (Colin Farrell), two single strangers who meet at a mutual friend’s wedding and soon, through a surprising twist of fate, find themselves on A Big Bold Beautiful Journey – a funny, fantastical, sweeping adventure together where they get to re-live important moments from their respective pasts, illuminating how they got to where they are in the present…and possibly getting a chance to alter their futures. Lily Rabe, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Kevin Kline and Jodie Turner-Smith are also part of the cast, though the YouTube posting says "Credits not final". Directed by Kogonada (After Yang, Columbus).
Interesting concept, but probably heavy on the emotional side.

First trailer for the second part of the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical, again directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights, Now You See Me 2), to be on theatres in November. Glinda, meanwhile, has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. Under the instruction of Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), she's deployed to serve as an effervescent comfort to Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under the rule of The Wizard. As Glinda’s stardom expands and she prepares to marry Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) in a spectacular Ozian wedding, she is haunted by her separation from Elphaba. Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode and Bowen Yang also will retun.

Kiss of the Spider Woman     HD720p 29MB
First trailer for the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical that was based on the movie that starred William Hurt, Raul Julia and Sonia Braga which was based on the novel by Manuel Puig. Valentín (Diego Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency. The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Jennifer Lopez). Directed by Bill Condon (Mr. Holmes, Dreamgirls, Beauty and the Beast).
Sundance reviews were a bit mixed.

Jurassic World: Rebirth     HD720p 39MB

Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind. Cast members include Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend and Ed Skrein. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Godzilla, Monsters).

Caught Stealing     HD720p 35MB
Darkly comedic crime thriller directed by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Fountain, Mother!). Hank Thompson (Austin Butler) was a high-school baseball phenom who can’t play anymore, but everything else is going okay. He’s got a great girl (Zoë Kravitz), tends bar at a New York dive, and his favorite team is making an underdog run at the pennant. When his punk-rock neighbor (Matt Smith) asks him to take care of his cat for a few days, he suddenly finds himself caught in the middle of a motley crew of threatening gangsters. They all want a piece of him; the problem is he has no idea why. Regina King, Live Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio and Bad Bunny are also part of the cast.
Looks much different compared to everything Aronofsky has done before.

Superman     HD720p 43MB
Second trailer for the latest Superman re-boot. He must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice and the human way he soon finds himself in a world that views these as old-fashioned. Also part of the cast are Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Wendell Pierce and Alan Tudyk. Directed by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, Slither, The Suicide Squad).
Also, a four minute clip followed by one minute of trailer-like footage that was released a few weeks ago: HD720p 70MB.

Nouvelle Vague     HD1080p 31MB
Short trailer for the latest movie directed by Richard Linklater (School of Rock, Everybody Wants Some!!, Hit Man). As you can probably guess, it's an homage to French film making from that era. It tells the story of Jean-Luc Godard making Breathless, told in the style and spirit in which Godard made Breathless. Few of the cast members are well known, with the exception of Zoey Deutch who portrays Jean Seberg.
Currently takes part in the official competition in Cannes where it was very well received. For comparison purposes, the trailer for Breathless/À bout de souffle from 1960.

Americana     HD720p 26MB
Pulpy crime comedy western in which a gallery of dynamic characters clash over the possession of a rare Native American artifact. After the artifact falls onto the black market, a shy waitress with big dreams (Sydney Sweeney) teams up with a lovelorn military veteran (Paul Walter Hauser) to gain possession of it, putting them in the crosshairs of a ruthless criminal (Eric Dane) working on behalf of a Western antiquities dealer (Simon Rex). Bloodshed ensues when others join the battle, including the leader of an indigenous group (Zahn McClarnon) and a desperate woman fleeing her mysterious past (Halsey).
Already premiered at the SXSW Festival in March 2023, where it received very favourable reviews.

Escape from the 21st Century - Cong 21 Shi Ji an Quan Che L     HD720p 27MB
Pretty crazy but fun looking action comedy from China that follows three friends who discover they have the power to travel back and forth 20 years with a sneeze. However, the future is not as good as they hoped, and they need to take on the responsibility of saving the world.
The association sets up expectations too high, but as a reference, think Everything Everywhere All At Once and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Was apparently already released in the UK earlier this year.

The Old Guard 2     HD720p 29MB

Jane Austen Wrecked My Life - Jane Austen a gâché ma vie     HD1080p 31MB
Romantic drama from France about Agathe (Camille Rutherford) who is a hopelessly clumsy yet charming young woman who works in the legendary Shakespeare & Co. bookshop in Paris. When her best friend (Pablo Pauly) gets her invited to the Jane Austen Writers' Residency in England, she finally has her Jane Austen moment … and is caught in a very unexpected romantic triangle.
That the other male lead may remind viewers of Hugh Grant feels like a mistake. Could still be charming.

The Long Walk     HD720p 34MB
Intense horror movie based on a dystopian short story by Stephen King, that confront the audience with the haunting question: how far could you go? It's about a group of teenage boys who compete in an annual contest known as "The Long Walk," where they must maintain a certain walking speed or get shot. F1     HD720p 36MB
Another tense trailer for this racing drama about Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) who was once Formula 1's most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Through it all, Buddy pursues his unstoppable dreams, and Macy is left to pull it all together and keep the family afloat. As the family grapples with identity and belonging, they share a humorous and heartfelt journey of self-discovery, learning the power of owning your spotlight, no matter what stage of life you’re in. Simon Rex and Chris Cooper are also part of the cast. Directed by Jon S. Baird (Tetris, Stan & Ollie, Filth).

Honey Don't!     HD720p 35MB
Dark comedy film about Honey O’Donahue (Margaret Qualley), a small-town private investigator, who delves into a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church. Also part of the cast are Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day and Chris Evans.
After Drive-Away Dolls this will be the second movie from Ethan Coen (Raising Arizona, Fargo, Burn After Reading) of what has been described as a "lesbian B-movie trilogy". Maybe it's just me, but I think that makes it all a bit awkward.
Will premiere later this month as an out-of-competition midnight screening in Cannes. A look at the festival selection.

Echo Valley     HD1080p 21MB
Thriller about a mother (Julianne Moore) and daughter (Sydney Sweeney) who are bound by a dark secret. Together     HD720p 31MB
Body horror movie about codependent couple Tim and Millie (Dave Franco, Alison Brie) who, years into their relationship, find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country, abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except each other. With tensions already flaring a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh.
Horror is not my genre. If I want to be scared I just read the news. But I thought I include it because of favourable festival reviews and the real life couple Brie and Franco. An earlier teaser: HD720p 20MB.

Sorry, Baby     HD720p 24MB
Drama with some deadpan humour that won the screenwriting award this year in Sundance where it was very well received. Something bad happened to Agnes (Eva Victor). But life goes on - for everyone around her, at least. Naomi Ackie, Lucas Hedges and John Carroll Lynch are also part of the cast. Victor also wrote and directed the film.

Heads of State     HD720p 38MB
Action-Comedy in which the UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Idris Elba) and U.S. President Will Derringer (John Cena) have a not-so-friendly and very public rivalry that jeopardizes their countries’ “special relationship.” But when they become the targets of a powerful and ruthless foreign adversary - who proves more than a match for the two leaders’ security forces - they are begrudgingly forced to rely on the only two people they can trust: each other. Few of them can be seen in the trailer, but also part of the cast are allegedly Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, Stephen Root, Sarah Niles, Richard Coyle and Paddy Considine. Directed by Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry, Nobody).
Will start streaming on Amazon Prime starting July 2nd. Which feels about right.

Now You See Me: Now You Don't     HD720p 35MB
Trailer for another sequel in which the Four Horsemen return (Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher) along with a new generation of illusionists (Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt) performing mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film. Morgan Freeman also returns, Rosamund Pike plays the "villain". This time directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom, 30 Minutes or Less).
Seems to rely heavily on CGI for its "illusions".

The Smashing Machine     HD720p 36MB
Biopic that tells the story of of mixed-martial arts and UFC champion Mark Kerr (Dwayne Johnson). Emily Blunt plays his wife. The movie's directed by Benny Safdie, one of the brothers who was responsible for Uncut Gems.
Johnson is barely recognisable, he clearly makes an effort. While I'm interested to read about how the movie will turn out, the movie itself is clearly not my world.

The Life of Chuck     HD720p 16MB
Hard to summarise, but it's described as a life-affirming, genre-bending story based on a novella by Stephen King. It's about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles 'Chuck' Krantz (Tom Hiddleston in two chapters) as he experiences the wonder of love, the heartbreak of loss, and the multitudes contained in all of us. The world feels like it’s ending and everybody’s saying goodbye to Chuck. Wherever Marty (Chiwetel Ejiofor) goes, he can’t get away from him. His face is showing up on billboards, window signs - even TV commercials. What’s so special about this seemingly ordinary accountant and why does he warrant such a sendoff? Karen Gillan, Mia Sara, Carl Lumbly and Mark Hamill are also part of the cast.

Fountain of Youth     HD720p 31MB
Another trailer for this action-adventure that follows two estranged siblings (John Krasinski, Natalie Portman) who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth. They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives … and possibly lead to immortality. Eiza González, Domhnall Gleeson, Carmen Ejogo and Stanley Tucci are also part of the cast. Directed by Guy Ritchie (Snatch., The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Swept Away).
To state the obvious, John Krasinski is no Harrison Ford. Will start streaming on Apple TV+ starting May 23rd.

The Roses     HD720p 35MB
Trailer for this British-flavoured remake of the dark divorce comedy The War of the Roses. Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy (Olivia Colman) and Theo (Benedict Cumberbatch), successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids. But beneath the façade of their supposed ideal life, a storm is brewing – as Theo’s career nosedives while Ivy’s own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites. Allison Janney, Andy Samberg, Ncuti Gatwa, Kate McKinnon, Sunita Mani and Zoë Chao are also part of the cast. Directed by Jay Roach (Bombshell, Meet the Parents, Austin Powers).

Hallow Road     HD720p 11MB
Tense thriller drama that predominantly takes place in real time in a car about two parents (Rosamund Pike, Matthew Rhys) who receive a distressing late-night call from their teenage daughter, who has just accidentally hit a pedestrian. They jump in their car, racing to get there before anyone else stumbles across the scene. As they head deeper into the night, disturbing revelations threaten to tear the family apart as they soon realize they might not be the only ones driving down Hallow Road.

28 Years Later     HD720p 30MB
A second trailer for the third, intense zombie movie set in the same world as 28 Days Later. It’s been almost 30 years since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist alongside the infected. One group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single causeway. However, when one of them leaves on a mission, he discovers secrets that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors too. Cast members include Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O'Connell and Ralph Fiennes.
Reunites from the first film director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Sunshine, The Beach) and screenwriter Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation, Civil War). A short featurette in which the two talk about the film: HD720p 32MB.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps     HD720p 36MB
Full trailer for another superhero franchise reboot. Marvel's First Family (Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach) face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). Also part of the cast are John Malkovich, Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, Mark Gatiss and Sarah Niles. Directed by Matt Shakman ("WandaVision", "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia").
Still reminds me of the The Incredibles.

Another Simple Favor     HD720p 34MB
Trailer for the sequel. Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman. Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square. Andrew Rannells, Elizabeth Perkins, Henry Golding and Allison Janney are also part of the cast. Again directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Jackpot!, Spy).
Will start streaming on Amazon Prime May 1st. An earlier teaser: HD720p 22MB.
trailer_spot: (Default)
The Phoenician Scheme     HD1080p 53MB
Full trailer for the latest movie written and directed by Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom, Fantastic Mr. Fox). It's a typical Anderson movie, that tells the story of a family and a family business. It's about Zsa-zsa Korda (Benicio del Toro), one of the richest men in Europe; Liesl (Mia Threapleton), his daughter/a nun and Bjorn, their tutor (Michael Cera). Also part of the cast are Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Mathieu Amalric, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend and Hope Davis.
Interestingly, will already be in theatres at the end of May.

Tron: Ares     HD720p 22MB
First short trailer for another sequel, to be in theatres in October. Plot summary so far reads: A highly sophisticated Program, Ares (Jared Leto), is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission.
Jeff Bridges will return, also part of the cast are Greta Lee, Sarah Desjardins, Gillian Anderson, Evan Peters, Jeff Bridges, Cameron Monaghan and Jodie Turner-Smith. Directed by Joachim Rønning (Young Woman and the Sea, Kon-Tiki, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil).
Hard to believe that's already been 15 years since the previous film. Will probably again look spectacular. But I'm not looking forward to seeing Jared Leto.

Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning     HD720p 33MB
Another gripping trailer for what will be the 8th, and possibly last entry in the long running franchise, to be in theatres in May. Still no meaningful plot summary, unless you count "filmed for IMAX". But it would be superfluous anyway. Besides Tom Cruise, returning cast members include Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff and Henry Czerny. Listed new additions include Angela Bassett, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman and Janet McTeer. Like the previous three films again directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

Accountant 2     HD720p 40MB
A second trailer for the action crime drama sequel. Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) has a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance (J.K. Simmons) is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to “find the accountant,” he's compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, he recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother (Jon Bernthal) to help. In partnership with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried. Again directed by Gavin O'Connor.
Mainly interesting in comparing it with the first trailer (HD720p 33MB). That one put the emphasis on violence, killings and casually normalising torture, this trailer version makes it more look like a (buddy) comedy. Judging from reviews, it is indeed both.

Ballerina     HD720p 33MB
Second trailer for an action movie that tries to expand the John Wick universe, taking place after the events of the third film, to be in theatres next June. It follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma. Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Norman Reedus are also part of the cast. Directed by Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld, Total Recall).
Production history is a bit of a mess. Reddick already died in March 2023.
trailer_spot: (Default)
One Battle After Another     HD720p 36MB
Trailer of the latest movie written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood, Phantom Thread, Inherent Vice). When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries (Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor) reunites to rescue one of their own's daughter.
Trailer looks great, but I'm not sure how representative it is of the whole film which itself seems hard to categorise. For now I would say it's a darkly comedic political thriller. But there also seems to be a touch of family drama.

Fountain of Youth     HD1080p 25MB
Action-adventure that follows two estranged siblings (John Krasinski, Natalie Portman) who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth.
Will start streaming on Apple TV+ starting May 23rd.

Mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be. Better known voice cast members are Zoe Saldaña, Jameela Jamil, Brad Garrett and Shirley Henderson.
Looks quite funny. Movie got delayed for various reasons. A first trailer from June 2023: Tsr 1080p 30MB.

Shadow Force     HD720p 33MB
Action movie about Kyrah (Kerry Washington) and Isaac (Omar Sy) who were once the leaders of a multinational special forces group called Shadow Force. They broke the rules by falling in love, and in order to protect their son, they go underground. With a large bounty on their heads, and the vengeful Shadow Force hot on their trail, one family’s fight becomes all-out war. Mark Strong and Da'Vine Joy Randolph are also part of the cast. Directed by Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Smokin' Aces, The Grey).
Action films about married spies are becoming a bit inflationary.

The Friend     HD720p 32MB
To counterbalance all the action, trailer for a touching drama about writer and teacher Iris (Naomi Watts) who finds her comfortable, solitary New York life thrown into disarray after her closest friend and mentor (Bill Murray) leaves her his beloved 150 lb. Great Dane. The regal yet intractable beast, named Apollo, immediately creates practical problems for Iris, from furniture destruction to eviction notices, as well as more existential ones. Constance Wu, Carla Gugino, Ann Dowd, Sarah Pidgeon and Josh Pais are also part of the cast. Written and directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel (The Deep End, Uncertainty, What Maisie Knew).
Already in theatrical release in the US.

The Wedding Banquet     HD1080p 38MB
Remake of an Ang Lee relationship comedy/drama. It's about a chosen family navigating the disasters and delights of family expectations, queerness, and cultural identity. Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) and her partner Lee (Lily Gladstone) have been unlucky with their IVF treatments, but can’t afford to pay for another round. Meanwhile their friend Min (Han Gi-chan), the closeted scion of a multinational corporate empire, has plenty of family money but a soon-to-expire student visa. When his commitment-phobic boyfriend Chris (Bowen Yang) rejects his proposal, Min makes the offer to Angela instead: a green card marriage in exchange for funding Lee’s IVF. But their plans to quietly elope are upended when Min’s skeptical grandmother (Youn Yuh-jung) flies in from Korea unannounced, insisting on an all-out wedding extravaganza.
Received favourable reviews earlier this year in Sundance.

Materialists     HD720p 34MB
Romantic relationship drama about a young, ambitious New York City matchmaker (Dakota Johnson) who finds herself torn between the perfect match (Pedro Pascal) and her imperfect ex (Chris Evans). The love triangle begins to have harsh and life-threatening effects on her clients as business mixes with romance. Written and directed Celine Song (Past Lives).

The Shrouds     HD720p 21MB
Trailer for the latest "horror" movie written and directed by David Cronenberg (Eastern Promises, The Fly, Crash). Set in an eerie, deceptively placid near-future, a techno-entrepreneur named Karsh (Vincent Cassel) has developed a new software that will allow the bereaved to bear witness to the gradual decay of loved ones dead and buried in the earth. While Karsh is still reeling from the loss of his wife (Diane Kruger) from cancer - and falling into a peculiar sexual relationship with his wife’s sister (also Kruger) - a spate of vandalized graves utilizing his “shroud” technology begins to put his enterprise at risk, leading him to uncover a potentially vast conspiracy. Guy Pearce and Sandrine Holt are also part of the cast.
Festival reviews are very mixed.

A Minecraft Movie     HD720p 37MB
Full trailer for the live-action film adaptation of the video game. To get back home, they'll have to master this world while embarking on a quest with an unexpected, expert crafter (Jack Black). Jennifer Coolidge, Kate McKinnon and Jemaine Clement are also part of the cast. Directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, Gentlemen Broncos).
I hesitate to say it, but I think this looks pleasantly weird.

Lilo & Stitch     HD720p 31MB
Another "live-action re-imagining" of an animated film. Stitch goes on an out-of-this-world adventure after a daring escape from a galactic space station that takes him to Earth. Lilo and Stitch become acquainted as Stitch not only learns the customs and traditions of life on Earth, but also the core values of family. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On).
I don't know why either.

F1     HD720p 37MB
Racing drama about Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) who was once Formula 1's most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling FORMULA 1 team that is on the verge of collapse. He convinces Sonny to come back for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world. He’ll drive alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the team's hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace. Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies and Kim Bodnia are also part of the cast. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick, Oblivion, TRON: Legacy).
Tries its best to convince us that even at 61 you can still be a competitive Formula 1 racecar driver. An earlier teaser that was released last July: HD720p 23MB.

The Electric State     Tlr1 HD4080p 26MB    Tlr2 HD1080p 23MB

Joining her on the journey is a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter (Chris Pratt). Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (The Gray Man, Welcome to Collinwood, You Me and Dupree, and a couple of Marvel movies).
Reviews are about as bad as one would expect. Two trailers to choose from. Starts streaming on Netflix today, March 14th.

Eden     HD1080p 32MB
Survival thriller drama that follows a group high-minded Europeans who seek a new life on a previously uninhabited island in the Galápagos, only to discover that hell is other people. Dr. Friedrich Ritter (Jude Law) and his partner Dora Strauch (Vanessa Kirby) flee their native Germany in 1929, repudiating the bourgeois values they believe are corroding mankind’s true nature. Friedrich wants to focus on writing his manifesto, while Dora resolves to cure her multiple sclerosis through meditation. They are joined by Margaret (Sydney Sweeney) and Heinz Wittmer (Daniel Bruehl), who prove to be earnest, capable settlers. Next comes Eloise Bosquet de Wagner Wehrhorn (Ana de Armas) a self-described Baroness and the “embodiment of perfection,” who arrives with two devoted lovers, an Ecuadorian servant, a wardrobe full of evening gowns, and plans to erect a luxury hotel. Directed by Ron Howard (<i>A Beautiful Mind</i>, <i>Apollo 13</i>, <i>Frost/Nixon</i>).
Festival reviews are very mixed. Judging by the trailer, despite the cast, it's a little difficult to take it seriously. Jude Law seems to do his best Udo Kier impression.
Looks like it will at one point start streaming at amazon, but it found a German distributor first, hence the German subtitles.

How to Train Your Dragon     HD720p 36MB
Disney is practising it for decades, now DreamWorks is recycling their intellectual property in the form of a "live-action reimagining". On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup (Mason Thames) stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), he defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society. With the fierce and ambitious Astrid (Nico Parker) and the village’s quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost) by his side, Hiccup confronts a world torn by fear and misunderstanding. Directed by Dean DeBlois who also directed the three animated films.

At odds with her prying neighbors and under the constant oppressive noise and heat of the city, she decides to break free from the shackles of domesticity and follow her own path.
I'm unable to include a downloadable link. But since the theatrical release in the UK starts this weekend I wanted to mention the film.
Edit: Belatedly, downloadable HD1080p 21MB.

The Assessment     HD1080p 33MB
Dystopian sci-fi movie set in the not-so-distant future where the world is devastated by climate change, and society is striving for perfection. Couples wishing to have children must therefore undergo a state aptitude test. Botanist Mia (Elizabeth Olsen) and researcher Aaryan (Himesh Patel) are assigned an assessor (Alicia Vikander), who stays with them for a week - unsettling their relationship with her uncomfortable questions. Feature film debut of music video director Fleur Fortuné which explains the strong visuals.
Looks interesting, and festival reviews are mostly favourable, but I think it's better categorised as a psychological horror thriller than sci-fi.

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie     Tsr1 HD720p 17MB    Tsr2 HD720p 13MB
Two short teasers for a fully-animated feature-length movie with the classic characters. Porky Pig and Daffy Duck are Earth's only hope when facing the threat of alien invasion.
All reviews agree that it's very close to the looniness of the original cartoon series.

Sacramento     HD1080p 61MB
Comedic drama about an energetic and free-spirited young man (Michael Angarano) with a Peter Pan complex, who convinces his long-time friend (Michael Cera) to hit pause on his blissful domestic life and embark on an impromptu road trip across California. Maya Erskine, Kristen Stewart and Rosalind Chao are also part of the cast. Film's also directed and co-written by Angarano.
If you can tolerate man-babies, then this looks quite entertaining.

G20     HD720p 33MB
Action movie in which the G20 summit comes under siege, and U.S. President Danielle Sutton (Viola Davis) becomes the number one target. After evading capture by the attackers, she must outsmart the enemy to protect her family, defend her country, and safeguard world leaders in this action-packed thrill ride. Anthony Anderson, Marsai Martin, Ramón Rodríguez, Douglas Hodge, Clark Gregg and Elizabeth Marvel are also part of the cast.
Will start streaming on Amazon Prime April 10th.

The Actor     HD720p 20MB
Crime mystery that finds Paul Cole (André Holland) stranded in a mysterious small town with no memory of who he is or how he got here. Without a sense of identity or purpose, he starts from scratch and begins courting a local costume designer Edna (Gemma Chan). As bits and pieces of his past slowly emerge, he attempts to find his way home, but time is slippery, appearances can't be trusted, and it's unclear which of his identities is real. May Calamawy, Olwen Fouéré, Toby Jones, Simon McBurney, Joe Cole and Tracey Ullman are also part of the cast.
Plot summary doesn't do the "weirdness" of the trailer justice. You get a better idea when you know that it's directed by Duke Johnson who made Anomalisa together with Charlie Kaufman who is one of the producers of the film.

Freaky Tales     HD1080p 32MB
Gory action comedy set in 1987 Oakland with four interconnected stories. It's a multi-track mixtape of colorful characters — an NBA star (Jay Ellis), a corrupt cop (Ben Mendelsohn), a female rap duo (Normani, Dominique Thorne), teen punks, neo-Nazis, and a debt collector (Pedro Pascal) — on a collision course in a fever dream of showdowns and battles. Written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Captain Marvel, Half Nelson, It's Kind of a Funny Story).
For better or worse, Tarantino-esque comes to mind.

On Swift Horses     HD720p 24MB
Romantic drama in which Muriel (Daisy Edgar Jones) and her husband Lee (Will Poulter) are beginning a bright new life in California when he returns from the Korean War. But their newfound stability is upended by the arrival of Lee’s charismatic brother, Julius (Jacob Elordi), a wayward gambler with a secret past. A dangerous love triangle quickly forms. When Julius takes off in search of the young card cheat he’s fallen for, Muriel’s longing for something more propels her into a secret life of her own, gambling on racehorses and exploring a love she never dreamed possible. Diego Calva and and Sasha Calle are also part of the cast.

Mickey 17     HD720p 34MB
Another trailer for this sci-fi comedy about unlikely hero Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson) who has found himself in the extraordinary circumstance of working for an employer who demands the ultimate commitment to the job… to die, for a living. Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo are also part of the cast. Directed by Bong Joon-ho (Parasite, Snowpiercer, The Host).
Festival reviews from Berlin are mostly favourable, it surely continuous to look very entertaining.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps      HD720p 17MB
First teaser for another superhero franchise reboot, to be in theatres in July. Also part of the cast are John Malkovich, Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles. Directed by Matt Shakman ("WandaVision", "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia").
You could probably also sell it as a live-action version of The Incredibles.

Friendship     HD720p 31MB
Dark comedy about two new pals. When an errant delivery pulls suburban dad (Tim Robinson) into the orbit of his mysterious and charismatic new neighbour (Paul Rudd), a sweet bromance seems to blossom over an innocent evening of urban exploration, punk rock, and a mutual appreciation for paleolithic antiquities. But what should have been the start of a beautiful friendship is soon waylaid as his obsessive personality begins to alienate his new pal, subsequently inducing a spiral that threatens to upend his entire life. Kate Mara is also part of the cast.

Jurassic World: Rebirth     HD720p 36MB
Another franchise addition, set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, when the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.

Smurfs     HD720p 38MB
First trailer for this live-action/animation hybrid musical directed by Chris Miller (Puss in Boots, Shrek the Third). When Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. Directed by Jake Schreier (Robot & Frank).

The Ballad of Wallis Island     HD1080p 53MB
Comedic, romantic drama that follows an eccentric lottery winner (Tim Key) who lives alone on a remote island and dreams of getting his favorite musicians (Carey Mulligan, Tom Basden) back together. His fantasy quickly turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as he tries desperately to salvage his dream gig. Sian Clifford and Akemnji Ndifornyen are also part of the cast.
Reviews this week from Sundance find it as crowd-pleasing and charming as the trailer makes it look like.

Opus     HD720p 32MB
Darkly satirical drama in which a young writer (Ayo Edebiri) is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star (John Malkovich) who mysteriously disappeared thirty years ago. Surrounded by the star's cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.
I thought this had the potential to be very entertaining. But reviews this week from Sundance are mostly bad.

Mr. Nobody Against Putin     HD1080p 37MB
Important documentary about Russia. As Russia launches its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, primary schools across Russia’s hinterlands are transformed into recruitment stages for the war. Facing the ethical dilemma of working in a system defined by propaganda and violence, a brave teacher goes undercover to film what’s really happening in his own school.
After watching the trailer the main question I had was, what's the fate of the teacher Pavel Talankin. YouTube version of the trailer says that he has now left the country.
After seeing the footage from Russia, one should not miss similar tendencies of the American extremist MAGA regime.

You're Cordially Invited     Tlr1 HD720p 37MB    Tlr2 HD720p 19MB
When two weddings are accidentally booked on the same day at the same venue, each bridal party is challenged with preserving their family’s special moment while making the most of the unanticipated tight quarters. In a battle of determination and grit, the father of the bride (Will Ferrell) and sister of the other bride (Reese Witherspoon) chaotically go head-to-head as they stop at nothing to uphold an unforgettable celebration for their loved ones. Geraldine Viswanathan, Meredith Hagner, Celia Weston and Jack McBrayer are also part of the cast. Written and directed by Nicholas Stoller (The Five-Year Engagement, Neighbors, Forgetting Sarah Marshall).
How much you enjoy this probably depends on your fondness for weddings. Now streaming on Amazon. Two trailers to choose from.

Love Me     HD720p 20MB
Romantic drama set after the end of human civilization. A love story spanning billions of years in which a buoy (Kristen Stewart) and a satellite (Kristen Stewart) meet online long after the extinction of humanity. As they learn what life on Earth was like, they discover themselves and what it means to be alive and in love.
Certainly a unique concept. But trailer reminds me more of a feel-good infomercial than the introduction to a compelling film. Reviews are all over the place. Now in limited release in the US.

Superman     HD720p 34MB
It feels like it's been months since the last re-boot, so here's the first trailer (that already was released a month ago) for the latest franchise reset, to be in theatres in July. So far there's no meaningful plot summary. Superman will be portrayed by David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan is famed reporter Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor. Also part of the cast are Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Wendell Pierce and Alan Tudyk. Directed by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, Slither, The Suicide Squad).

The Alto Knights     HD720p 33MB
Biographical crime mob drama that follows two of New York’s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello (Robert De Niro) and Vito Genovese (Robert De Niro), as they vie for control of the city’s streets. Once the best of friends, petty jealousies and a series of betrayals place them on a deadly collision course that will reshape the Mafia (and America) forever. Debra Messing, Cosmo Jarvis, Michael Rispoli and Kathrine Narducci are also part of the cast. Directed by Barry Levinson (Bandits, Wag the Dog, Rain Man), wirtten by Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas, Casino, City Hall).
Looks like one of the more interesting movies with De Niro of recent years. But now that the convicted felon is again leading the USofA watching films about the mob becomes less enjoyable.

Companion     HD720p 15MB
Darkly comedic, twisted thriller in which a billionaire's death (Rupert Friend) sets off a chain of events for Iris (Sophie Thatcher) and her friends (Jack Quaid, Harvey Guillen, Lukas Gage, Megan Suri) during a weekend trip to his lakeside estate.
The trailer poses a bit of a dilemma. One the one hand it does a good job getting you interested, on the other hand very favourable reviews indicate that the less you know the better.

Bob Trevino Likes It     HD720p 34MB
Heartfelt comedic drama about Lily (Barbie Ferreira) who, when her narcissistic father suddenly cuts her out of his life, finds solace in Facebook of all places when she connects with and befriends a kindhearted man (John Leguizamo) who shares her father’s name.
Was a crowd-pleaser at a number smaller indie festivals and will now have a limited release in the US in March.

Seven Veils     HD1080p 24MB
Drama in which, after years away, theater director Jeanine (Amanda Seyfried) re-enters the opera world to stage her former mentor’s most famous work. Haunted by dark and disturbing memories from her past, she allows her repressed trauma to color the present as her personal and professional lives begin to unravel. Written and directed by Atom Egoyan (The Sweet Hereafter, Adoration, Where the Truth Lies).
Mostly favourable festival reviews mention that the movie's ambitious, with some reviewers thinking it's a little too ambitious.
trailer_spot: (Default)
Black Bag     HD720p 21MB
Spy drama about legendary intelligence agents George Woodhouse (Michael Fassbender) and his beloved wife Kathryn (Cate Blanchett). When she is suspected of betraying the nation, he faces the ultimate test – loyalty to his marriage or his country. Pierce Brosnan, Naomie Harris, Rege-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Tom Burke. Directed by Steven Soderbergh (Contagion, Traffic, Haywire).
I get a strong "meta" feeling when watching the trailer. I don't think we are meant to take the story entirely seriously. Given the cast and the director, I'm very much looking forward to it.

Death of a Unicorn     HD720p 33MB
Darkly satirical comedy about a father-daughter duo (Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega) who hit a unicorn with their car and bring it to the wilderness retreat of a mega-wealthy pharmaceutical CEO (Richard E. Grant). Will Poulter, Téa Leoni, Sunita Mani, Steve Park and Jessica Hynes are also part of the cast.

Novocaine     HD720p 31MB
Action comedy in which everyman Nate (Jack Quaid), who, after the girl of his dreams (Amber Midthunder) is kidnapped, turns his inability to feel pain into an unexpected strength in his fight to get her back.
The movie does seem to make good use of Nate's unusual condition.

Cleaner     HD720p 33MB
Action thriller set in present-day London, in which a group of radical activists take over an energy company's annual gala, seizing 300 hostages in order to expose the corruption of the hosts. Their just cause is hijacked by an extremist (Clive Owen) within their ranks, who is ready to murder everyone in the building to send his anarchic message to the world. It falls to an ex-soldier turned window cleaner (Daisy Ridley) suspended 50 stories up on the outside of Nakatomi Plaza the building, to save those trapped inside, including her younger brother. Directed by Martin Campbell (Green Lantern, Casino Royale, The Mask of Zorro).

Warfare     HD720p 33MB
War movie that embeds audiences with a platoon of American Navy SEALs in the home of an Iraqi family, overwatching the movement of US forces through insurgent territory. A visceral, boots-on-the-ground story of modern warfare, told in real time and based on the memory of the people who lived it. Co-written and directed by Alex Garland (Civil War , Ex Machina, Annihilation) and Ray Mendoza, an Iraq War veteran.
While I'm not really interested in a movie about the Iraq War told from the US perspective, it does seem intend to show what war is like.
trailer_spot: (Default)
The Brutalist     HD720p 37MB
Epic drama with a 3 1/2 hours running time, directed by Brady Corbet (Vox Lux, The Childhood of a Leader). Escaping post-war Europe, visionary architect László Toth (Adrien Brody) arrives in America to rebuild his life, his work, and his marriage to his wife Erzsébet (Felicity Jones) after being forced apart during wartime by shifting borders and regimes. On his own in a strange new country, he settles in Pennsylvania, where the wealthy and prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce) recognizes his talent for building. But power and legacy come at a heavy cost. Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Ariane Labed, Isaach De Bankolé and Alessandro Nivola are also part of the cast.
Corbet won the Best Director Award earlier this year in Venice, where the movie received very favourable reviews.

28 Years Later     HD720p 27MB
Skipping the "28 Months" follow-up, a trailer for the third zombie movie set in the same world as 28 Days Later.

The Gorge     HD720p 34MB
Action drama, with a bit of an romantic angle, about two highly-trained operatives (Miles Teller, Anya Taylor-Joy) who are appointed to posts in guard towers on opposite sides of a vast and highly classified gorge, protecting the world from an undisclosed, mysterious evil that lurks within. They bond from a distance while trying to stay vigilant in defending against an unseen enemy. When the cataclysmic threat to humanity is revealed to them, they must work together in a test of both their physical and mental strength to keep the secret in the gorge before it’s too late. Sigourney Weaver and Sope Dirisu are also part of the cast. Directed by Scott Derrikson (Doctor Strange).
It is a bit intriguing. Will start streaming on AppleTV February 14th.

Old Guy     HD720p 27MB
Action comedy about an aging contract killer (Christoph Waltz) who still believes he’s the best at what he does. Stuck in a boring “desk” assignment while pining for the love of spunky club manager Anata (Lucy Liu), he's thrilled when The Company pulls him back in the field, but only to train a Gen Z newcomer (Cooper Hoffman), a prodigy assassin with a bad attitude. The mismatched pair is asked to eliminate a competing crime syndicate but uncover their employer’s true motive: removing the old guard in a full takeover. Directed by aging Simon West (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Con Air, The Expendables 2).

Snow White     HD720p 35MB
CGI-heavy "live-action" version of the Disney classic. "The trailer showcases the scale and beauty of the lavish production design, the beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy, and a first look at the power ballad Waiting on a Wish". Rachel Zegler plays Snow White, Gal Gadot the Evil Queen. Directed by Marc Webb ((500) Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man, Gifted).
An earlier teaser: HD720p 18MB.
trailer_spot: (Default)
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl     HD1080p 26MB
Full trailer for a new animated adventure. Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own. When it emerges that a vengeful figure from the past might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace may never be able to invent again! Co-directed by Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham.
After a limited theatrical release in some English speaking countries, it will apparently start streaming on Netflix December 25th in the US and the UK, and the rest of the world January 3rd. An earlier teaser: HD1080p 9MB.

A Minecraft Movie     HD720p 36MB
Full trailer for the live-action film adaptation of the video game. Four misfits (Jason Momoa, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks) are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.
An earlier teaser: HD720p 20MB.

The Bad Guys 2     HD720p 34MB
Trailer for the animated sequel in which The Bad Guys (Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Awkwafina) are struggling to find trust and acceptance in their newly minted lives as Good Guys, when they are pulled out of retirement and forced to do "one last job" by an all-female squad of criminals. Bad Girls consist of leader Kitty Kat (Danielle Brooks), a dangerously clever snow leopard; Pigtail (Maria Bakalova), a brilliant Bulgarian wild boar engineer; and Doom (Natasha Lyonne), a wry raven with a knack for deception.
The first movie was a lot more entertaining than I expected.

The Amateur     HD720p 27MB
Espionage thriller about a brilliant, but deeply introverted decoder (Rami Malek) for the CIA working out of a basement office at headquarters in Langley whose life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a London terrorist attack. When his supervisors refuse to take action, he takes matters into his own hands, embarking on a dangerous trek across the globe to track down those responsible, his intelligence serving as the ultimate weapon for eluding his pursuers and achieving his revenge. Rachel Brosnahan, Caitriona Balfe, Jon Bernthal, Michael Stuhlbarg, Holt McCallany, Julianne Nicholson, Adrian Martinez and Laurence Fishburne are also part of the cast. Directed by James Hawes (One Life).
I don't like how the story is set up.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3     HD720p 35MB
A second, much different trailer for the third movie of the franchise, again directed by Jeff Fowler. Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails (Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, Colleen O'Shaughnessey) reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow (Keanu Reeves), a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they have faced before. With their abilities outmatched in every way, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet. James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and Jim Carrey will also return.
trailer_spot: (Default)
Carry-On     HD1080p 35MB
Action movie about a young TSA agent (Taron Egerton) who fights to outsmart a mysterious traveler (Jason Bateman) who blackmails him into letting a dangerous package slip onto a Christmas Eve flight. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise, Unknown, Run All Night).
Simple set-up, tense trailer. Will start streaming on Netflix December 13th.

Better Man     HD720p 36MB
Biographical musical drama that tells the meteoric rise, dramatic fall, and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Robbie Williams, one of the greatest entertainers of all time. It follows Robbie’s journey from childhood, to being the youngest member of chart-topping boyband Take That, through to his unparalleled achievements as a record-breaking solo artist – all the while confronting the challenges that stratospheric fame and success can bring. Directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman).
What the summary doesn't mention. While Williams voices himself. Visually he's portrayed as an ape. Like in the most recent Planet of the Apes movies. According to festival reviews, it apparently works surprisingly well.

Thunderbolts*     HD720p 39MB
Second, again extended trailer for another film set in the MCU, to be in theatres next May. The familiar description so far says that a group of supervillains are recruited to go on missions for the government. Returning actors and characters from previous movies and TV series include Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Rachel Weisz as Melina and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Directed by Jake Schreier (Robot & Frank).

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy     HD1080p 45MB
Bridget is alone once again, widowed four years ago, when Mark (Colin Firth) was killed on a humanitarian mission in the Sudan. She’s now a single mother with two kids, and is stuck in a state of emotional limbo, raising her children with help from her loyal friends and even her former lover (Hugh Grant). Pressured by her Urban Family, her work colleague Miranda, her mother, and her gynecologist (Emma Thompson) - to forge a new path toward life and love, Bridget goes back to work and even tries out the dating apps, where she’s soon pursued by a dreamy and enthusiastic younger man (Leo Woodall). She also meets her son’s rational-to-a-fault science teacher (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones also return, Isla Fisher plays her neighbour.
Will start streaming on Peacock around Valentine's Day, February 13th. I'd say watching the first movie again is a preferable option.

I'm Still Here - Ainda Estou Aqui     HD1080p 35MB
Biographical political drama set in Brazil, 1971: the country faces the tightening grip of a military dictatorship. A mother of five children is forced to reinvent herself after her family suffers a violent and arbitrary act by the government. Directed by Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries, Central Station, Dark Water).
When the military fights the perceived enemy within. Movie won the Best Screenplay award this year in Venice and is now Brazil's entry for Best Foreign Film.
trailer_spot: (Default)
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning     HD720p 29MB
First trailer for what will be the 8th, and possibly last entry in the long running franchise, to be in theatres in May. No meaningful plot summary is yet available. Besides Tom Cruise, returning cast members include Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff and Henry Czerny. Listed new additions include Angela Bassett, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman and Janet McTeer. Like the previous three films it again will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

The Return     HD720p 36MB
Classical drama based on part of Homer's poem in which, after 20 years Odysseus (Ralph Fiennes) finally returns to Ithaca, where he finds his wife Penelope (Juliette Binoche) held prisoner by suitors vying to be king and his son facing death at their hands. To win back his family and all he has lost, Odysseus must rediscover his strength.
To be prepared for what to expect, despite some "action" towards the end, this is more Shakespearean drama than Hollywood "Clash of the Titans". Festival reviews are a bit mixed.

Captain America: Brave New World     HD720p 36MB
Second, tense trailer for a new Marvel movie that will feature the new Captain America, to be in theatres in February. After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), Sam (Anthony Mackie) finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red. Also part of the cast are Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Rosa Salazar and Giancarlo Esposito. Directed by Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox, Luce).
Will probably be a serious test if there's still demand for movies from the MCU.

The End     HD1080p 17MB
Sombre musical about a family in denial at the end of the world that marks the feature film debut by Joshua Oppenheimer, who so far has been known for two Oscar-nominated documentaries (The Act of Killing, The Look of Silence). It's about a naive young man (George MacKay) who was born in this bunker. In his 20 years of life, he has only heard stories of the outside world. He spends his days working on a dubious book with his father (Michael Shannon), a former energy tycoon, while his mother (Tilda Swinton) frets over the upkeep of the many priceless paintings and artworks adorning their walls. It’s the semblance of a normal (albeit affluent) life. But when a woman (Moses Ingram) from the outside arrives at their doorstep seeking refuge, the family’s delicate dynamic begins to crumble.
Festival reviews are mixed, but it sure is an interesting mix.

Emilia Pérez     HD1080p 21MB
Speaking of unusual musicals, here's a daring thriller melodrama directed by Jacques Audiard (A Prophet, The Sisters Brothers, The Beat That My Heart Skipped). Overqualified and undervalued, Rita (Zoe Saldana) is a lawyer at a large firm that is more interested in getting criminals off the hook than bringing them to justice. One day, she is given an unexpected way out, when cartel leader Manitas (Karla Sofía Gascón) hires her to help him withdraw from his business and realize a plan he has been secretly preparing for years: to become the woman he has always dreamt of being. Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz, Mark Ivanir and Edgar Ramírez are also part of the cast.
The female ensemble cast won the Best Actress Award this year in Cannes, it's now France's submission for Best Foreign Film. Release varies by country, but it today started streaming on Netflix in the US. I can only offer a downloadable link to a song-only trailer. Full trailer on YouTube.
