Supergirl     HD720p 42MB
Full trailer for another addition to the DC Comic Universe. When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl (Milly Alcock), reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice. Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham and Jason Momoa are also part of the cast. Directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Dumb Money, Cruella).

Outcome     HD720p 35MB
Dark comedy that centers on Reef Hawk (Keanu Reeves), a beloved Hollywood star who must dive into the depths of his hidden demons after he is extorted with a mysterious video that’s sure to shatter his image and end his career. With the support of his lifelong besties, Kyle (Cameron Diaz) and Xander (Matt Bomer), along with his crisis lawyer (Jonah Hill), Reef embarks on a soul-searching journey to make amends with anyone he could have possibly wronged in hopes of identifying the blackmailer. Susan Lucci, Martin Scorsese, David Spade and Laverne Cox are also part of the cast. Also co-written and directed by Jonah Hill.
Will become available on AppleTV starting April 10th.

Moana     HD720p 34MB
Full trailer for the "live-action reimagining" of the animated film. Moana (Catherine Laga'aia) answers the Ocean’s call and, for the first time, voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui with the infamous demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) on an unforgettable journey to restore prosperity to her people. Directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton).

Apex     HD1080p 35MB
Psychological action adventure about a woman (Charlize Theron) who is testing her limits in the Australian wilderness when she is suddenly ensnared in a deadly game with a ruthless predator (Taron Egerton). Eric Bana is also part of the cast. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur (Contraband, Everest, 2 Guns).
I would assume that Egerton's character at the end will get his comeuppance, or maybe there will be an interesting story turn. But I find the set-up still rather off-putting. Will start streaming on Netflix April 24th.

Rosebush Pruning     HD1080p 26MB
Darkly comedic family drama set in an opulent villa beneath the Catalonian sun, where American siblings Jack, Ed, Anna and Robert (Jamie Bell, Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Lukas Gage) wallow in isolation and their inherited fortune, eschewing the demands of their blind father (Tracy Letts), and seeking love and validation through each other and their latest designer clothes. When Jack, the eldest brother and linchpin of this family, announces that he is moving in with his girlfriend Martha (Elle Fanning), blood ties are severed and Ed is forced to uncover the truth surrounding their mother’s death.
Looks very stylish, but recent festival reviews from Berlin are not really favourable. If you would prefer to watch a trailer version without German subtitles.

I really enjoyed the story that the Supergirl movie is inspired by. The movie looks entertaining enough. I liked, but didn't love, Superman, and I suspect I'll feel the same about this.

Outcome looks interesting. Not convinced it's going to be great, and it feels a bit too "Inside baseball", but the cast is certainly impressive.

Moana - I hate this less than I do most live action Disney. But it still feels pretty pointless.

Apex - I feel the same as you do.

I think we might be calibrated differently for "kids" movies. Mario feels like a kids movie. But then I remember that teenagers are also children. And, yes, Supergirl is pretty much YA, I think.

Not a fan of what Outcome seems to be about but the cast and the tone of the trailer are alluring. I might give it a go, might be pleasantly surprised by the themes if the premise is misleading.

There's already an action thriller about humans hunting humans for sport named Apex, with awful ratings, and it's not even a decade old. When homonyms like this happen I wonder what the plan is.

Rosebush Pruning looks very up my alley. It has a lot of my personal faves in the cast and the visuals are cool. I could swear this was a remake of something I've seen before, and after googling it half of that was true: it is a remake but I don't think I've seen the original... Adding this to my watchlist.

Hah! Nope. I was at a much smaller festival earlier this spring though! Right now I'm working a pretty thankless very technical jobon a TV show so I'm unlikely to get invited to stuff. Might try to go to the Annecy festival for a few days on my own dime but that's pretty much it for medium/big festival plans in 2026.
