Beau Is Afraid: I can see how it reminds you a bit of Synechdoche New York. Though I'm hopeful that this one will be a bit more accessible.

Linoleum: It looks like a good example from that particular genre. :)

I'm usually attracted by noirs. But here the trailers failed to get me interested. Maybe the reviews for Sharper will be more favourable.
