Black Mass HD720p 78MB HD1080p 130MB
Another trailer for this crime drama set in 1970s South Boston, in which FBI Agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton) persuades Irish mobster James "Whitey" Bulger (Johnny Depp) to collaborate with the FBI and eliminate a common enemy: the Italian mob. It tells the true story of this unholy alliance, which spiraled out of control, allowing Whitey to evade law enforcement, consolidate power, and become one of the most ruthless and powerful gangsters in Boston history. Impressive cast also includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Dakota Johnson, David Harbour, Jesse Plemons, Corey Stoll, Adam Scott and Peter Sarsgaard. Directed by Scott Cooper (Out of the Furnace, Crazy Heart).
Looks like it's also a (dark) comedy. And very stylish.
Dope HD720p 34MB
Redband trailer for this comedic coming-of-age drama about Malcolm (Shameik Moore) who is a high school geek with a high-top fade, carefully navigating life in The Bottoms, one of the toughest neighborhoods in Inglewood, California. He and his fellow outcasts share a voracious appreciation for all things '90s hip-hop, opting to sport Cross-Colours and Z. Cavariccis at the risk of being clowned at school. He dreams of attending Harvard, but first he has to make it home every day. When a drug dealer takes a shine to Malcolm and invites him to his birthday party, his crew is swirled into a hilarious blender of offbeat characters and bad choices where redemption can only be found in Bitcoin. Among the better known cast members are Zoƫ Kravitz, Tony Revolori and Kimberly Elise.
Very groovy.
Glass Chin HD720p 15MB
Interesting looking indie noir. Boxer Bud Gordon (Corey Stoll) once had it all - a nice apartment, fame, public love and admiration. But after going down in the fifth round, he bowed out of the limelight. Now residing in a fixer-upper apartment in New Jersey with his girlfriend (Marin Ireland), he longs for his former Manhattan glory. In an effort to get back in the game, he makes a deal with a crooked restaurateur (Billy Crudup). But quick schemes rarely bring easy pay-offs and as the consequences of his business negotiations unfold, Bud has to make a choice between his integrity and his ambitions. Yul Vazquez, Michael Chernus and Katherine Waterston are also part of the cast. Written and directed by Noah Buschel (The Missing Person, Sparrows Dance).
Cooties HD720p 42MB
Horror comedy in which a cafeteria food virus turns elementary school children into killer zombies. So a group of misfit teachers (Elijah Wood, Rainn Wilson, Alison Pill, Jack McBrayer and Nasim Pedrad among them) must band together to escape the playground carnage.
Movie already premiered in Sundance last year, so the distributor wasn't exactly rushing a release. So you may want to adjust your expectations. But it might still be of interest to teachers. And parents. Or people who don't like kids.
The Wolfpack HD720p 25MB
Documentary about the six Angulo brothers who have spent their entire lives locked away from society in an apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Nicknamed The Wolfpack, they're all exceedingly bright, are homeschooled, have no acquaintances outside their family and have practically never left their home. All they know of the outside world is gleaned from the films they watch obsessively and recreate meticulously, using elaborate homemade props and costumes.
Doc created a lot of interest at festival screenings and was largely well received, probably also because of the movie angle. I don't really like docs that have kind of a "freak show" element and for me it so far raises mainly questions about the brothers' parents and how the doc was able to take place.
