It's a love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th-century French city that brings to life a collection of stories published in "The French Dispatch" magazine. The cast consists of pretty much everyone who has ever played in a Wes Anderson movie before, including Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Frances McDormand, Owen Wilson, Lea Seydoux, Mathieu Amalric, Edward Norton and Saoirse Ronan. Newcomers to the Wes Anderson universe include Benicio Del Toro, Elisabeth Moss, Jeffrey Wright and Timothee Chalamet.
