The Top Gun: Maverick HD720p 100MB
First trailer for the sequel, to be in theatres next June, more than thirty after the first movie. So far there's no official plot synopsis available. But I suspect it will again be a great showcase for the US military, and the ... suppressed love among fighter pilots. A what it looks like cryogenically preserved Tom Cruise will return, Val Kilmer will probably make an appearance too. Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm and Ed Harris are also part of the cast. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion, TRON: Legacy, Only The Brave). And of course it is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
Cats HD720p 100MB
First trailer for the film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's stage musical, to be in theatres in December. "The film reimagines the musical for a new generationthat grew up with snapchat filters with spectacular production design, state-of-the-art technology, and dance styles ranging from classical ballet to contemporary, hip-hop to jazz, street dance to tap." Cast members include Francesca Hayward, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Rebel Wilson and James Corden. Directed by Tom Hooper (The King's Speech, Les Misérables, The Danish Girl).
I know nothing about the story. But viewers of the trailer seem to be mostly ... horrified.
Ad Astra HD720p 95MB
A second trailer for this mysterious sci-fi adventure about astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) who travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos. Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, Donald Sutherland and John Ortiz are also part of the cast. Directed by James Gray (We Own the Night, The Lost City of Z The Immigrant).
It: Chapter Two HD720p 106MB
Full trailer for the horror sequel based on a novel by Stephen King. Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, the sequel brings the characters - who’ve long since gone their separate ways - back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film. Among the actors who play the adults are Jessica Chastain (as Beverly), James McAvoy (as Bill), Bill Hader (as Richie) and James Ransone (as Eddie). Bill Skarsgård returns as Pennywise. Again directed by Andy Muschietti.
The Operative HD720p 83MB
Psychological spy thriller about a young Western woman (Diane Kruger) recruited by the Mossad to go undercover in Tehran where she becomes entangled in a complex triangle with her handler (Martin Freeman) and her subject (Cas Anvar).
Festival reviews indicate that it's not particularly gripping. But Kruger gives another good performance.

Date: 22 Jul 2019 09:48 (UTC)I'm okay. Currently dealing with a similar problem as you guys. A heatwave. :)
I indeed continue to try to do a trip every year. Last year I was in Lisbon (with daytrips to Sintra). And in May I was in Greece. Athens and daytrips to a few ancient sites around Athens.
I have stopped making travelogue posts because they are so time consuming. And I'm not exactly very active here in general. But if there's anything you want know about the trips. Please feel free to ask whenever you like.
I still have a little hope left, that I eventually will have a more systematic look at your posts about your England trip. :)

Date: 22 Jul 2019 18:48 (UTC)Cats: I'm not as horrified as I thought I was going to be. The original musical was more or less songs about different cats with different personalities, which seeing as it was based on a book of poems about different cats with different personalities seemed about right. But they included DIALOGUE, which is something I don't believe the original musical had.
Ad Astra: Considering it appears to have been in some sort of production hell I'm kinda surprised it looks as intriguing as it does.
The Operative: Man, I forgot about Diane Kruger. I really shouldn't have.

Date: 23 Jul 2019 15:16 (UTC)Ad Astra: I'm also very curious. While watching the trailer I wondered if it reveals too much. Thankfully, I've already forgotten again what it was. :)
I still don't know how Kruger back then got prominent roles in "Troy" and "National Treasure" in short succession. I was very sceptical of her for a long time. But in recent years I have accepted that she indeed can act.

Date: 31 Jul 2019 18:33 (UTC)I hear really good things about Lisbon, it's definitely on my list of places to visit someday. I'd love to see Greece too!
They are time consuming but I kind of still do this for me, so I can remember what they heck I did. :-)

Date: 2 Aug 2019 09:26 (UTC)I too still spend large amounts of time preparing the trips, and just as much afterwards sorting and editing all the pictures that I took in order to make sure that I remember what I saw. That work has also the additional benefit that it keeps me from spending too much time reading the news. :)
