Blink Twice HD720p 40MB
Comedic (horror) drama that marks the directorial debut of Zoë Kravitz, she also co-wrote the script. When tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) meets cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) at his fundraising gala, sparks fly. He invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. It’s paradise. Wild nights blend into sun soaked days and everyone's having a great time. No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality. Alia Shawkat, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Christian Slater, Kyle MacLachlan and Geena Davis are also part of the cast.
Trailer does a very good job making you wonder what's going here.
Transformers One HD720p 44MB
CG-animated action comedy about the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever.
I thought this franchise had run its course. But here's another attempt to keep it alive by using a more light-hearted approach and employing a high-caliber voice-cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm, Laurence Fishburne and Steve Buscemi. Directed by Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4).
Doesn't look too bad.
The Idea of You HD720p 34MB
Romantic, comedic drama that centers on Solène (Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mom who begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet. Directed by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick, The Lovebirds, The Eyes of Tammy Faye).
Sounds a bit like a filmed fanfic. But reviews are surprisingly good. Now streaming on Amazon Prime.
Atlas HD1080p 46MB
Sci-fi action movie about Atlas Shepherd (Jennifer Lopez), a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence, who joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past. But when plans go awry, her only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it. Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown and Mark Strong are also part of the cast. Directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Rampage).
I suspect not many reviews will pass up the opportunity to speculate that the whole film was conceived and made by "AI". Will start streaming on Netflix May 24th.
The Second Act - Le deuxième acte HD480p 6MB
Short, amusing trailer for the latest comedy written and directed by Quentin Dupieux (Deerskin, Rubber, Wrong). It will open the Cannes film festival later this month, though it will not take part in the official competition. Florence (Léa Seydoux) wants to introduce David (Louis Garrel), the man she's madly in love with, to her father (Vincent Lindon). But David isn't attracted to her and wants to throw her into the arms of his friend Willy (Raphaël Quenard). The characters meet in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.
Watch the trailer for plot summaries of the film. It gives a good impression of the playfulness of Dupieux's movies.
