Oblivion HD480p 22MB HD72p 36MB
Much different European trailer version (we don't care much about where the last Super-Bowl was played) for this apocalyptic sci-fi thriller that takes place on a future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition. Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, his mission is nearly complete. Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger (Olga Kurylenko) from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands. Also part of the cast are Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (TRON: Legacy).
Still looks very promising.
The Internship HD480p 47MB HD720p 84MB
Comedy about two old school salesmen (Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson) who, finding themselves suddenly unemployed and passed-by in the digital world, try to reinvent themselves by becoming interns at a major tech company (it's Google). Also part of the cast are Max Minghella, Rose Byrne, John Goodman, Aasif Mandvi, Dylan O'Brien and Dylan O'Brien's glasses. Directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Real Steel, Cheaper by the Dozen).
Trailer premiered at a "Google+ hangout" - whatever that may be. Looks like Hollywood is inventing a new genre, a corporate infomercial financed by product placement. And you have to pay to see it. Well, you don't have to, obviously.
Trance HD480p 16MB HD720p 31MB
Rather gory redband trailer version from the US for this enigmatic thriller in which fine art auctioneer Simon (James McAvoy), in league with a gang led by underworld boss Franck (Vincent Cassel), plots the audacious theft of a masterpiece by Goya from a major public auction. When Simon double-crosses the gang, Franck retaliates violently and knocks him unconscious. In the aftermath of the heist, Simon sticks stubbornly to his claim that the violent trauma has left him with no memory of where he stashed the artwork. Unable to coerce the painting's location from Simon, Franck reluctantly joins forces with a charismatic hypnotherapist (Rosario Dawson) in a bid to get him to talk. Directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Sunshine, The Beach).
That they felt the need to make it that bloody weakens the case for watching considerably for me. But Boyle sadly seems to enjoy doing things like that.
The Company You Keep HD480p 38MB HD720p 68MB
The official trailer for this political thriller about a widowed single father and attorney (Robert Redford, who also directed) living in Albany. What none of his friends or clients know is that he was once a member of the activist/terrorist organization the Weather Underground. Wanted for robbery and the murder of a security guard, he has been in hiding for more than thirty years. When another former Weatherman (Susan Sarandon) turns herself in to the FBI, an aggressive young journalist (Shia LaBeouf) starts sniffing around for leads. He gradually finds his way to him, not suspecting that this seemingly upright citizen is himself a former militant activist. Also part of the remarkable cast are Nick Nolte, Julie Christie, Terrence Howard, Sam Elliott, Richard Jenkins, Brendan Gleeson, Anna Kendrick, Brit Marling, Chris Cooper and Stanley Tucci.
They slightly streamlined the credits card at the end to a 3x4 matrix.
The Numbers Station HD480p 45MB HD720p 81MB
Action thriller about a veteran CIA black ops agent (John Cusack) who, after his latest mission goes disastrously wrong, is given one last chance to prove he still has what it takes to do his job. His new assignment: guarding a code operator (Malin Akerman) at a top-secret remote CIA "Numbers Station" where encrypted messages are sent and received. When an elite team of heavily armed assailants lays siege to the station, the two find themselves in a life-or-death struggle against an unknown enemy.
Looks fairly direct-to-video, or its successor, video-on-demand.
