The Fifth Estate HD480p 51MB HD720p 120MB
Thriller about WikiLeaks and its quest to expose the deceptions and corruptions of power that turned the Internet upstart into the 21st century's most fiercely debated organization. The story begins as its founder Julian Assange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his colleague Daniel Domscheit-Berg (Daniel Brühl) team up to become underground watchdogs of the privileged and powerful. On a shoestring, they create a platform that allows whistleblowers to anonymously leak covert data, shining a light on the dark recesses of government secrets and corporate crimes. But when they gain access to the biggest trove of confidential intelligence documents in U.S. history, they battle each other and a defining question of our time: what are the costs of keeping secrets in a free society—and what are the costs of exposing them? Also part of the cast are Anthony Mackie, David Thewlis, Alicia Vikander, Peter Capaldi, Carice van Houten, Moritz Bleibtreu, Stanley Tucci and Laura Linney. Directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, Kinsey, Gods and Monsters).
It bugs me that there are so many movies that focus on the people but not on the information that's being exposed. Especially, since the press in the US seems increasingly to forget that they are supposed to be the fourth estate.
The Counselor HD720p 15MB
Short, but very promising looking teaser for the latest movie from Ridley Scott (American Gangster, Blade Runner, Black Rain). It's a thriller with a screenplay written by Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men, The Road) about a present-day Southwest lawyer (Michael Fassbender) who gets in over his head in the drug trade. Cast members include Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem (with another memorable hair-do), his wife Penélope Cruz and Cameron Diaz.

Full US trailer for Wong Kar Wai's (2046, In the Mood for Love, Chungking Express) latest movie. It tells the story of two kung fu masters: he comes from China's south; she is from the north. His name is Ip Man (Tony Leung Chiu Wai); hers is Gong Er (Zhang Ziyi). Their paths cross in his hometown of Foshan on the eve of the Japanese invasion in 1936. China is in turmoil and the country's south teeters on the brink of partition from the north. Gong Er's father is a renowned grandmaster. He too travels to Foshan. The legendary brothel The Golden Pavilion, where the country's best martial artists converge, is to be the venue for his retirement ceremony. This tale of betrayal, challenge, honour and love plays out against the chaotic backdrop of war and occupation.
While I first thought the trailer is over-emphasising the fighting, now that I've actually seen the film, while there are the usual quiet passages, there is indeed a lot of fighting in the movie.
Odd Thomas HD480p 23MB
Trailer from Europe for this supernatural thriller based on the novels from Dean Koontz. It's about a clairvoyant short-order cook (Anton Yelchin) who encounters a mysterious man with a link to dark forces. Also part of the cast are Willem Dafoe, Addison Timlin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Patton Oswalt. Directed by Stephen Sommers (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, The Mummy, Van Helsing). But it's a decidedly lower budget affair than the movies listed.

Full trailer for this comedy about four old friends (Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline) who decide to throw a Las Vegas bachelor party for the only one of them who has remained single. Directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure movies, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Cool Runnings).
Party like it's 1959. If you ever wondered what The Hangover would look like if it was made with elderly Academy Award winners.
