Biographical drama based on the true story of Walter Keane (Christoph Waltz), who was one of the most successful painters 1950s and early 1960s. The artist earned staggering notoriety by revolutionizing the commercialization and accessibility of popular art with his enigmatic paintings of waifs with big eyes. The truth would eventually be discovered though: Keane's were actually not created by him at all, but by his wife, Margaret (Amy Adams). The Keanes, it seemed, had been living a lie that had grown to gigantic proportions. Danny Huston, Krysten Ritter, Jason Schwartzman and Terence Stamp are also part of the cast. Directed by Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish).
A welcome change for Burton, also working with a new set of actors.

Teaser for a crime thriller written and directed by J.C. Chandor (Margin Call, All is Lost). It is set in New York City during the winter of 1981, statistically one of the most violent years in the city's history, and centered on a the lives of an immigrant (Oscar Isaac) and his family (Jessica Chastain) trying to expand their business and capitalize on opportunities as the rampant violence, decay, and corruption of the day drag them in and threaten to destroy all they have built. David Oyelowo, Alessandro Nivola and Albert Brooks are also part of the cast.
So far doesn't look as original as Chandor's first two movies, but at this point I'm interested in everything he does.

When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un (Randall Park) is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As the two prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA (Lizzy Caplan) recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un. Witten and directed by Evan Goldberg and Rogen (This Is the End).
Redband is well deserved. And they got the expected extra publicity.

But not all is what it seems, and the pressures cause her to nearly fall apart - until she meets a promising young cop and aspiring politician (Nate Parker) who's been assigned to her detail. Drawn to each other, the two fall fast and hard, despite the protests of those around them to put their career ambitions ahead of their romance. But can his love give Noni the courage to find her own voice and break free to become the artist she was meant to be? Minnie Driver and Danny Glover are also part of the cast. Written and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Secret Life of Bees, Love & Basketball).
Reviews describe it as predictable but entertaining, which sounds about right.

From that moment on, everything changes. Elsa bursts into Fred's life like a whirlwind, determined to teach him that the time he has left to live—be it more or less—is precious and that he should enjoy it as he pleases. Wendell Pierce, Chris Noth, Scott Bakula, George Segal and James Brolin are also part of the cast. Directed Michael Radford (Il postino, 1984, Flawless).
