Trailer for the latest comedic drama written and directed by Noah Baumbach (Greenberg, Frances Ha, The Squid and the Whale). Aging gracefully is never easy, and it may be worse for artists. Josh Srebnick (Ben Stiller) is a New York documentarian who never quite got his due. As he labours over the umpteenth edit of his cerebral new film, it's plain that he has hit a creative dry patch. Josh and his wife, Cornelia (Naomi Watts), tried to start a family and were unable - and have decided they're okay with that. Enter a young artist couple (Adam Driver, Amanda Seyfried), who approach Josh after a class he teaches. They are spontaneous and untethered, ready to drop everything in pursuit of their next passion - retro board games one day, acquiring a pet chicken the next. For Josh, it's as if a door has opened back to his youth. Charles Grodin and Adam Horovitz are also part of the cast.
Looks amusing, though I so far have never been able to really connect with Baumbach's movies.

Drama about a renowned linguistics professor (Julianne Moore) who struggles to maintain her mind and self after being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. At first, Alzheimer's means losing her way around the streets of Manhattan, but soon - far too soon for her husband (Alec Baldwin) and three grown children (Kate Bosworth, Hunter Parrish) - it's much more. But even as it puts her marriage to the test, her new condition does provide the opportunity to reconnect with her youngest daughter (Kristen Stewart) with whom she's never seen eye-to-eye. Directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland (The Last of Robin Hood, Quinceañera).
Movie began a limited release in the US last weekend (before a wider release in January) to qualify for awards. My impression of the reviews is: Great performance by Moore in a somewhat less great movie.

Action movie about a man (Bruce Willis) who has designed the ultimate resort: VICE, where anything goes and the customers can play out their wildest fantasies with artificial inhabitants who look, think and feel like humans. When an artificial (Ambyr Childers) becomes self-aware and escapes, she finds herself caught in the crossfire between his mercenaries and a cop (Thomas Jane) who is hell-bent on shutting down Vice, and stopping the violence once and for all.
There's still an impulse to get interested when reading Bruce Willis' name in the context of such a movie. But it's time to get that impulse under control since this one again looks more like another "direct-to-video" release at best.

Pierre Michel (Jean Dujardin), a young magistrate with a wife and children, has just been transferred to help in the crackdown on organized crime. He decides to take on the French Connection, a mafia-run operation that exports heroin the world over. Paying heed to no one's warnings, he leads a one-man campaign against mafia kingpin Gaetan Zampa (Gilles Lellouche), the most untouchable godfather of them all.

When their 8000 year-old flatmate Petyr, turns 20-something human hipster Nick, into a vampire, the guys must teach him the ropes and guide him through his new found eternal life. And in return they are forced to learn a thing or two about modern society, fashions, technology, and the internet. Also written by Clement and Waititi ("Flight of the Conchords", Boy, Eagle vs Shark).
