Snowden     HD720p 35MB
Finally a trailer for the much delayed thriller directed Oliver Stone (JFK, World Trade Center, Natural Born Killers) about Edward Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world. Also part of the cast are Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans and Nicolas Cage.
It is unfortunate that Snowden's personal life will be so much in focus when its the things he revealed that should be discussed. But it looks like as if the movie at least will also bring back into the spotlight the Big Brother tactics of the NSA. If you're interested in Snowden, and haven't done so already, have a look at the Oscar winning documentary Citizenfour. It is history making documented in real-time.

Tulip Fever     HD720p 22MB
Romantic drama set in 17th-century Amsterdam that follows a married woman (Alicia Vikander aka Lara Croft) who begins a passionate affair with an artist (Dane DeHaan) hired to paint her portrait. The lovers gamble on the booming market for tulip bulbs as a way to raise money to run away together. Christoph Waltz, Holliday Grainger, Jack O'Connell, Judi Dench, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander and Cara Delevingne are also part of the cast. Directed Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, The First Grader). Maybe also of note, screenplay adapted by Tom Stoppard.

Captain Fantastic     HD720p 37MB
Drama with comedic elements set deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, in which, isolated from society, a devoted father (Viggo Mortensen) dedicates his life to transforming his six young children into extraordinary adults. But when a tragedy strikes the family, they are forced to leave this self-created paradise and begin a journey into the outside world that challenges his idea of what it means to be a parent and brings into question everything he's taught them. Frank Langella, George MacKay, Kathryn Hahn and Steve Zahn are also part of the cast.
Festival reviews are mixed, but pretty much all agree that Mortensen gives another fine performance.

Approaching the Unknown     HD720p 19MB
Sci-fi drama in which an astronaut (Mark Strong) is on a one-way solo mission, taking humanity's first steps toward colonizing Mars. Although the entire world is watching him, he is completely alone in a dark and distant sea of stars. He rockets bravely through space facing insurmountable odds, but as the journey takes a toll on his life-sustaining systems, he is forced to make impossible choices that threaten his sanity, mission and very existence. Luke Wilson and Sanaa Lathan are also part of the cast.
Not sure what to make of it. It's an indie production, the story was apparently developed during a Sundance workshop. But it never screened at a festival despite its interesting cast. Trailer shows scenes that look similar to ones from a number of recent space movies. But given the usual lead time of a movie, I'm not sure if they are deliberate or accidental. So far I'm at least curious.

X-Men: Apocalypse     HD720p 53MB   HD1080p 105MB
The third and final trailer for the latest instalment of the X-Men franchise, once again directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie). Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction. Many more actors return, new to the cast are Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Tye Sheridan and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
Probably spoils the only surprise left that so far wasn't yet shown in previous trailers. So, as always, decide for yourself if you want to watch it. Also, a strange, but also amusing, promotional tie-in spot by a real estate broker: HD720p 17MB.
