The Mercy HD720p 37MB
European trailer for this biographical drama that tells the story of Donald Crowhurst (Colin Firth), an amateur sailor who competed in the 1968 Sunday Times Golden Globe Race in the hope of becoming the first person in history to single-handedly circumnavigate the globe without stopping. With an unfinished boat and his business and house on the line, he leaves his wife, Clare (Rachel Weisz) and their children behind, hesitantly embarking on an adventure on his boat. David Thewlis and Ken Stott are also part of the cast. Directed James Marsh (The Theory of Everything, Shadow Dancer, Man on Wire).
As it happens sometimes, there's another less prominently cast, British film about Crowhurst set for release.
A Quiet Place HD720p 88MB
Not much is known about this mysterious thriller/horror/drama. The tagline reads: If they can't hear you, they can't hunt you. M. Night Shyamalan comes to mind. Just not clear if it will of the good kind or the bad.
Directed John Krasinski (The Hollars), who also stars, together with his wife Emily Blunt and Millicent Simmonds.
Incredibles 2 HD720p 32MB
Announcement teaser for the animated sequel, to be in theatres next June, once again written and directed by Brad Bird (Tomorrowland, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, Ratatouille). This time Helen (Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (Sarah Vowell) and Dash (Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of "normal" life. It's a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jacks emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again - which is easier said than done, even when they're all Incredible.
A Wrinkle in Time HD720p 88MB
Second trailer for this epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle's classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and ultimately, the triumph of love. After the disappearance of her scientist father (Chris Pine), three peculiar beings (Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling) send Meg, her brother, and her friend to space in order to find him. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, André Holland and Zach Galifianakis are also part of the cast. Directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma, The 13th, Middle of Nowhere).
Still looks to me like a tough sell to everyone not familiar with the book.
Montparnasse Bienvenue - Jeune femme HD720p 14MB
Comedic drama from France. Broke, with nothing but her cat to her name and doors closing in her face, Paula (Laetitia Dosch) is back in Paris after a long absence. As she meets different people along the way, there is one thing she knows for sure: she's determined to make a new start and she'll do it with style and panache.
Léonor Serrailles this year in Cannes won the award for the best directing debut in the Un Certain Regard section. All festival reviews mention Frances Ha as comparison which sounds about right. Probably no one though can explain why it was necessary to use that international title.
