US trailer for this romantic drama that follows the playful but passionate relationship between Peter Turner (Jamie Bell) and the eccentric Oscar-winning actress Gloria Grahame (Annette Bening) in 1978 Liverpool. What starts as a vibrant affair between a legendary femme fatale and her young lover quickly grows into a deeper relationship, with Turner being the person Gloria turns to for comfort. Their passion and lust for life is tested to the limits by events beyond their control. Julie Walters, Stephen Graham, Vanessa Redgrave and Kenneth Cranham are also part of the cast. Directed by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin, Push, "Sherlock").
Festival reviews are a bit mixed, but the performances of Bening and Bell are praised, some of them wonder if it will lead to another Oscar nomination for Bening.

Even as Amanda’s sinister tendencies surface and the girls hatch a plan to hire a local hustler (Anton Yelchin) and take matters into their own hands, the mutual manipulation that has always defined their relationship threatens to derail their ambitions.
Trailers cut to the rhythm of the music are fun to watch, but tend to set up false, often even misleading expectations regarding the pacing of the actual movie. Nevertheless, the film was very well received earlier this year in Sundance.

As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, he teams with a discredited genetic engineer (Naomie Harris) to secure an antidote. Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are also part of the cast.

But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief. Also part of the cast are Hugh Grant, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters and Peter Capaldi.
Just so charming.

Trailer for the latest wry, melancholic comedy from Aki Kaurismäki (The Match Factory Girl, I Hired a Contract Killer, Leningrad Cowboys Go America). It's a clear-eyed response to the current refugee crisis, follows two people searching for a place to call home. Displaced Syrian Khaled lands in Helsinki as a stowaway; meanwhile, middle-aged salesman Wikström leaves behind his wife and job and buys a conspicuously unprofitable seafood restaurant. After Khaled is denied asylum, he decides not to return to Aleppo - and the paths of the two men cross fortuitously.
The plot is barebones and far from realistic. But it is still difficult to resist the charm of the film. Now in limited release in the US.
