Won the award for Best Screenplay earlier this month in Venice. Netflix owns the distribution rights, which means, besides a limited theatrical release, the movie will start streaming November 16th.

The story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli (Rohan Chand), raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. As he learns the often harsh rules of the jungle, under the tutelage of a bear named Baloo (Serkis) and a panther named Bagheera (Christian Bale), he becomes accepted by the animals of the jungle as one of their own. All but one: the fearsome tiger Shere Khan (Benedict Cumberbatch). Cate Blanchett voices Kaa, other roles will be played or spoken by Freida Pinto, Naomie Harris, Peter Mullan, Eddie Marsan, Matthew Rhys and Tom Hollander.
Distribution rights have been acquired by Netflix. Will start streaming December 7th.
