Together     HD720p 84MB
Comedic drama about a husband and wife (James McAvoy, Sharon Horgan) who are forced to re-evaluate themselves and their relationship through the reality of the COVID-19 lockdown. Directed by Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Reader, The Hours).
Looks very entertaining, certainly one of the more interesting movies that were made under pandemic restrictions. I wouldn't mind watching it as a play. Viewers with access to the BBC already had the chance to see the movie, it will have a theatrical release in the US at the end of the month.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage     HD720p 172MB
Another trailer for the sequel that sees the return of Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom. Otherwise there's no real official plot summary. Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson and Reid Scott also return, new cast additions are Naomie Harris and Stephen Graham. Andy Serkis (Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, Breathe) takes over directing duty.
The "exclusive" trailer version from Apple has a 90 seconds featurette attached at the end in which Serkis "sells" his movie.

Annette     HD720p 25MB
To fulfil the mandatory quota of films starring Adam Driver, another trailer for the latest movie directed by Leos Carax (Holy Motors, The Lovers on the Bridge). It's a musical set in contemporary Los Angeles and tells the story of Henry, a stand-up comedian (Driver) with a fierce sense of humor and Ann (Marion Cotillard), a singer of international renown. In the spotlight, they are the perfect couple, healthy, happy, and glamourous. The birth of their first child, Annette, a mysterious girl with an exceptional destiny, will change their lives. Simon Helberg is also part of the cast. It's written by brothers Ron and Russell Mael who, for about the last fifty years, performed as Sparks.
Will start streaming in the US on Amazon Prime starting August 20th.
Carax won the prize for Best Director in Cannes, though the reviews were very mixed. So I'm unsure about the movie. But I can very much recommend the highly entertaining documentary about Sparks directed by Edgar Wright.

Azor     HD720p 64MB
Quiet political thriller set in Argentina, the late 1970s. Private banker Yvan arrives from Geneva with his wife Ines to replace a colleague who has mysteriously disappeared in military-ruled Buenos Aires. Moving through the smoke-filled lounges and lush gardens of a society under intense surveillance, he finds himself untangling a sinister web of colonialism, high finance, and a nation's “Dirty War”.
Looks good and was very well received at festivals.

John and the Hole     HD1080p 29MB
Disturbing trailer for this unsettling psychological thriller in which a desperate game of survival unfolds after 13 year old John (Charlie Shotwell) traps his family (Michael C. Hall, Taissa Farmiga, Jennifer Ehle) in a hole in the ground.
Festival reviews were mixed, but it sure has an unusual premise. Now in limited release and available on demand in the US.
