Licorice Pizza     HD720p 102MB
Trailer of the latest movie written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood, Phantom Thread, Inherent Vice). It tells the coming-of-age story of Alana Kane (Alana Haim, one third of the trio) and Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman, son of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman) who are growing up, running around and falling in love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973. Sean Penn, Tom Waits, Bradley Cooper and Benny Safdie are also part of the cast.
Just judging from the trailer, this does not look particularly interesting.

The Electrical Life of Louis Wain     HD720p 49MB
Biographical, comedic drama about the eccentric British artist Louis Wain (Benedict Cumberbatch), whose playful, sometimes even psychedelic pictures helped to transform the public's perception of cats forever. Moving from the late 1800s through to the 1930s, we follow his adventures as he seeks to unlock the "electrical" mysteries of the world and, in so doing, to better understand his own life and the profound love he shared with his wife (Claire Foy). Andrea Riseborough, Toby Jones, Adeel Akhtar and Taika Waititi are also part of the cast, Olivia Colman is the narrator.
Festival reviews are divided if there is too much emphasis on quirks and "cuteness". But that will obviously depend on one's own taste. After a brief theatrical run, will start streaming on Amazon Prime November 5th.

Army of Thieves    HD1080p 34MB
Action comedy that serves as a prequel to the recent Zack Snyder directed Army of the Dead. A mysterious woman (Nathalie Emmanuel) recruits bank teller Dieter (Matthias Schweighöfer) to help her crew crack three legendary safes across Europe. The names of the safes are Rheingold, Valkyrie and Siegfried. Ja, really. It's also directed by Schweighöfer who is kind of a "superstar" here in Germany.
Will start streaming on Netflix October 29th. An earlier teaser: HD1080p 16MB.

C'mon C'mon     HD720p 21MB
Johnny (Joaquin Phoenix) and his young nephew (Woody Norman) forge a tenuous but transformational relationship when they are unexpectedly thrown together in this delicate and deeply moving story about the connections between adults and children, the past and the future. Gaby Hoffman also stars in the film.
Short trailer for the latest movie written and directed by Mike Mills (20th Century Women, Beginners, Thumbsucker). It's a family drama, filmed in black and white, about Johnny (Joaquin Phoenix), an emotionally stunted and softspoken radio journalist who travels the country interviewing a variety of kids about their thoughts concerning their world and their future, and his young nephew (Woody Norman), who forge a tenuous but transformational relationship when they are unexpectedly thrown together. Gaby Hoffmann is also part of the cast.
Was very well received at the Telluride Film Festival.

Stop and Go - Recovery     HD720p 85MB
Indie comedy about two directionless sisters whose big plans for the year come to a screeching halt when they are forced to rescue their grandmother and her beloved dog from a COVID outbreak at her nursing home, before their irresponsible sister can get there first. They embark on a hilarious, cross-country race against time.
Difficult to say if the two will be bearable for a whole (albeit short) movie. But it looks quite funny.
