The Ballad of Wallis Island     HD1080p 53MB
Comedic, romantic drama that follows an eccentric lottery winner (Tim Key) who lives alone on a remote island and dreams of getting his favorite musicians (Carey Mulligan, Tom Basden) back together. His fantasy quickly turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as he tries desperately to salvage his dream gig. Sian Clifford and Akemnji Ndifornyen are also part of the cast.
Reviews this week from Sundance find it as crowd-pleasing and charming as the trailer makes it look like.

Opus     HD720p 32MB
Darkly satirical drama in which a young writer (Ayo Edebiri) is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star (John Malkovich) who mysteriously disappeared thirty years ago. Surrounded by the star's cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.
I thought this had the potential to be very entertaining. But reviews this week from Sundance are mostly bad.

Mr. Nobody Against Putin     HD1080p 37MB
Important documentary about Russia. As Russia launches its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, primary schools across Russia’s hinterlands are transformed into recruitment stages for the war. Facing the ethical dilemma of working in a system defined by propaganda and violence, a brave teacher goes undercover to film what’s really happening in his own school.
After watching the trailer the main question I had was, what's the fate of the teacher Pavel Talankin. YouTube version of the trailer says that he has now left the country.
After seeing the footage from Russia, one should not miss similar tendencies of the American extremist MAGA regime.

You're Cordially Invited     Tlr1 HD720p 37MB    Tlr2 HD720p 19MB
When two weddings are accidentally booked on the same day at the same venue, each bridal party is challenged with preserving their family’s special moment while making the most of the unanticipated tight quarters. In a battle of determination and grit, the father of the bride (Will Ferrell) and sister of the other bride (Reese Witherspoon) chaotically go head-to-head as they stop at nothing to uphold an unforgettable celebration for their loved ones. Geraldine Viswanathan, Meredith Hagner, Celia Weston and Jack McBrayer are also part of the cast. Written and directed by Nicholas Stoller (The Five-Year Engagement, Neighbors, Forgetting Sarah Marshall).
How much you enjoy this probably depends on your fondness for weddings. Now streaming on Amazon. Two trailers to choose from.

Love Me     HD720p 20MB
Romantic drama set after the end of human civilization. A love story spanning billions of years in which a buoy (Kristen Stewart) and a satellite (Kristen Stewart) meet online long after the extinction of humanity. As they learn what life on Earth was like, they discover themselves and what it means to be alive and in love.
Certainly a unique concept. But trailer reminds me more of a feel-good infomercial than the introduction to a compelling film. Reviews are all over the place. Now in limited release in the US.
