First trailer for another X-Men sequel that marks the return of director Bryan Singer (Jack the Giant Slayer, The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) to the franchise. The summary so far says that this time the ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods. The beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from "X-Men: First Class," in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future. Which means it will be even more challenging than usual to give everyone enough screen time. Among the new, additional cast members are Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing (no word yet if she will appear worldwide) and Evan Peters.

Further voices will be provided by Ariel Winter, Allison Janney, Stephen Colbert, Leslie Mann, Stanley Tucci and Lake Bell. Watching the US and the international trailer versions makes for interesting comparison.

Bernice (LisaGay Hamilton) and Fontayne (Yolonda Ross) grew up so close people said they could "go for sisters", but time sent them down different paths. Twenty years later, those paths cross: Fontayne is a recovering addict fresh out of jail, and Bernice is her new parole officer. When Bernice's son Rodney goes missing on the Mexican border, his shady associates all in hiding or brutally murdered, Bernice realises she needs someone with the connections to navigate Rodney's world without involving the police. The pair enlist the services of a disgraced ex-LAPD detective (Edward James Olmos) and plunge into the dim underbelly of Tijuana.

Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Keanu Reeves) - a half-breed they once rejected - as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors. Also part of the cast are Hiroyuki Sanada, Tadanobu Asano and Rinko Kikuchi.
Visuals still look attractive, but also still hard to tell if all of this will make for an interesting movie.
