Romantic drama that celebrates the real-life courage and commitment of an interracial couple, Richard and Mildred Loving (Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga), who married and then spent the next nine years fighting for the right to live as a family in their hometown. Their civil rights case, Loving v. Virginia, went all the way to the Supreme Court, which in 1967 reaffirmed the very foundation of the right to marry. Marton Csokas, Nick Kroll and Michael Shannon are also part of the cast. Written and directed by Jeff Nichols (Mud, Take Shelter, Midnight Special).
Hard to believe this happened just 50 years ago. Then again, ... We'll probably hear about the movie during awards season.

Comedic drama in which ex-maid of honor Eloise (Anna Kendrick) - having been relieved of her duties after being unceremoniously dumped by the best man (Wyatt Russell) via text - decides to hold her head up high and attend her oldest friend's wedding anyway. She finds herself seated at the 'random' table in the back of the ballroom with a disparate group of strangers (Craig Robinson, Lisa Kudrow, June Squibb, Tony Revolori, Stephen Merchant), most of whom should have known to just send regrets (but not before sending something nice off the registry). As everyone's secrets are revealed, Eloise learns a thing or two from the denizens of Table 19. Written by the Duplass Brothers which probably explains why this seems to be a more low-key, quiet affair.

As if that isn't bad enough, her parents not only decide to throw her a party, they invite all her new classmates – including new best friend Elliot and the trio of mean girls determined to make her life a misery. Escaping to her bedroom, Greta falls asleep and slips down the rabbit hole into a subconscious forest full of absurd, oddly familiar and terrifying visions.
Looks delightful.

Drama about an American family that settles into the French countryside at the end of the First World War, where the father (Liam Cunningham) is involved in the peace negotiations around the Treaty of Versailles. His wife (Bérénice Bejo) is a devout Christian who struggles with the tantrums of their defiant son, whose willful outbursts begin to demonstrate a monster in the making. Loosely inspired by the early childhood experiences of many of the great dictators of the 20th Century, the movie is an ominous portrait of emerging evil. Robert Pattinson, Stacy Martin and Yolande Moreau are also part of the cast. Directorial debut of Brady Corbet.
Divided the audience during its premiere in Venice, it is certainly a movie for the more adventurous viewer. Scored by Scott Walker. It is kind of a less subtle version of Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon. Interestingly, Corbet also starred in Haneke's US remake of Funny Games. You can choose between the US and European trailer version.
