Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House HD720p 33MB
Historical thriller about the anonymous whistleblower known only as Deep Throat. It is 1972. After nearly 40 years in office, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover has died. Despite obvious qualifications and decades of dedication, Special Agent Mark Felt (Liam Neeson) is not appointed as Hoover's successor. The snub is indicative of forces outside the Bureau conspiring against its independence. He's named Associate Director, yet Nixon’s White House keeps Felt and his colleagues on an ever-tightening leash — especially with regards to a mysterious break-in at the Democratic National Committee’s Watergate headquarters. Cast members include Diane Lane, Michael C. Hall, Josh Lucas, Tom Sizemore and Bruce Greenwood. Directed by Peter Landesman (Concussion, Parkland).
Kind of timely.
Last Flag Flying HD720p 93MB
Trailer for the latest movie directed by Richard Linklater (Boyhood, Everybody Wants Some!!, Before trilogy). In 2003, 30 years after they served together in the Vietnam War, former Navy Corps medic Richard “Doc” Shepherd (Steve Carell) re-unites with ex-Marines Sal (Bryan Cranston) and Mueller (Laurence Fishburne) on a different type of mission: to bury Doc’s son, a young Marine killed in the Iraq War. Doc decides to forgo burial at Arlington Cemetery and, with the help of his old buddies, takes the casket on a bittersweet trip up the East Coast to his home in suburban New Hampshire. Along the way, the three reminisce and come to terms with shared experiences of the war that continue to shape their lives.
Acquired by Amazon Studios, so it will probably get streamed by them rather sooner than later after a limited theatrical release in November.
You Were Never Really Here HD720p 16MB
Trailer from France for this violent thriller drama directed by Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin). A missing teenage girl. A brutal and tormented enforcer (Joaquin Phoenix) on a rescue mission. Corrupt power and vengeance unleash a storm of violence that may lead to his awakening. Score is composed by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood.
Movie premiered in Cannes where Phoenix won Best Actor award, and Lynne Ramsay was one of the winners for Best Screenplay.
Brawl in Cell Block 99 HD1080p 26MB
Violent prison thriller in which a former boxer named Bradley (Vince Vaughn) loses his job as an auto mechanic, and his troubled marriage (Jennifer Carpenter) is about to end. At this crossroads in his life, he feels that he has no better option than to work for an old buddy as a drug courier. This improves his situation until the terrible day that he finds himself in a gunfight between a group of police officers and his own ruthless allies. When the smoke clears, Bradley is badly hurt and thrown in prison, where his enemies force him to commit acts of violence that turn the place into a savage battleground. Don Johnson, Fred Melamed and Udo Kier are also part of the cast. Directed by S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk).
Trailer gives some tonally mixed messages how serious this will be. But, as festival reviews from Venice confirm, Vaughn is trying something different.
Killing Gunther HD720p 32MB
Action comedy about a group of eccentric assassins (Taran Killam, Hannah Simone, Amir Talai among them) who are fed up with Gunther (Arnold Schwarzenegger), the world's greatest hit-man and decide to kill him but their plan turns into a series of bungled encounters as Gunther seems to always be one step ahead. Bobby Moynihan and Cobie Smulders are also part of the cast. Killam also directed.
Looks like an embarrassment for everyone involved. But I felt obliged to post it.
