Set in the fictional present, the 80 year-old King Lear (Anthony Hopkins) divides his kingdom among his daughters, Goneril (Emma Thompson), Regan (Emily Watson ) and Cordelia (Florence Pugh), according to their affection for him. When his youngest daughter, Cordelia, refuses to flatter him, hurt and angry Lear banishes her. With that fateful decision, family and state collapse into chaos and warfare. Jim Broadbent, Tobias Menzies, Andrew Scott, Jim Carter and Christopher Eccleston are also part of the cast.
What a cast. BBC production that was already broadcast in the UK in May. It will start streaming on Amazon Prime September 28th.

A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe's artistic director (Tilda Swinton), an ambitious young dancer (Dakota Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth and Jessica Harper are also part of the cast. Directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, A Bigger Splash, I Am Love).

Absurdist comedy in which, after getting fired by her scheming husband Shane Danger (Emile Hirsch) from his cappuccino shop, dissatisfied Lulu Danger (Aubrey Plaza) is stunned when a TV commercial for “An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn For One Magical Night Only” reveals a mysterious man from her past (Craig Robinson). When Shane and his bumbling cohorts steal the cashbox from Lulu's adopted vegan brother Adjay (Sam Dissanayake), specialist Colin (Jemaine Clement) enters the fray to retrieve the stolen funds.
Trailer looks funny, but judging from reviews, you really have to be a fan of the absurdist to enjoy this for the length of a whole movie.

Random guys in bars, abusive married men (Chace Crawford), and an inability to stand up for herself finally convince her it's time for a change. She packs up and moves to Los Angeles. After killing it in LA, she meets chill a contractor (Common), who tempts the brash New Yorker into considering commitment. Jay Mohr, Mindy Sterling and Beau Bridges are also part of the cast.
Festival reviews are very positive. But just from the trailer, I have difficulties to get interested in the "comedic", the "dramatic", or the "romantic" part.
