Little Fish HD1080p 40MB
Romantic drama set in the near future where a couple (Olivia Cooke, Jack O'Connell) fights to hold their relationship together as a memory loss virus spreads and threatens to erase the history of their love and courtship. Directed by Chad Hartigan (Morris from America, Luke and Brie Are on a First Date).
Maybe a difficult film to watch at the moment. But it has gotten quite good reviews. Now available on demand.
Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar HD720p 68MB
Full trailer for this comedy about lifelong friends Barb (Annie Mumolo) and Star (Kristen Wiig) who embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they decide to leave their small Midwestern town for the first time ever. Romance, friendship and a villain’s evil plot. Jamie Dornan and Damon Wayans Jr. are also part of the cast. It's also written by Wiig and Mumolo.
A little unsure if I want to see a whole movie with the two characters. Will be available on Apple TV starting February 12th.
Crisis HD720p 100MB
Thriller drama in which, set against the backdrop of the opioid epidemic, multiple story lines collide. A drug trafficker arranges a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation. An architect (Evangeline Lilly) recovering from an Oxycodone addiction tracks down the truth behind her son’s disappearance. A university professor (Gary Oldman) battles unexpected revelations about his employer (Greg Kinnear, Luke Evans), a pharmaceutical company bringing a new “non-addictive” painkiller to market. Armie Hammer, Michelle Rodriguez, Lily-Rose Depp and Kid Cudi are alsor part of the cast. Written and directed by Nicholas Jarecki (Arbitrage).
Doesn't look too bad, but in light of recent revelations about Armie Hammer, maybe watching Traffic again should be considered.
Falling HD720p 76MB
Family drama that follows John (Viggo Mortensen) who lives with his partner, Eric (Terry Chen), and their daughter, in California, far from the traditional rural life he left behind years ago, while his conservative father, Willis (Lance Henriksen), lives alone on the isolated farm where John grew up. In the early stages of dementia, Willis is brought to John’s California home to help him relocate. Unfortunately, their best intentions ultimately run up against Willis’s adamant refusal to change his way of life in the slightest. Laura Linney and Hannah Gross are also part of the cast. Marks the directorial debut of Mortensen who also wrote the screenplay.
Now available on demand. A very different trailer from France: HD1080p 26MB.
The Wanting Mare HD720p 87MB
Interesting looking low budget fantasy film that has gotten very positive reviews for its world building, now available on demand. But it's not easy to connect the official summary with the actual trailer. The short summary is pretty straightforward: Set in the city of Whithren, where a line of women pass a recurring dream through multiple generations.
The longer description reads: In the world of Anmaere, north of the city of Whithren, wild horses run through the moorlands and up the coast. These horses are the city’s most valuable export, and as a result are hunted, trapped, sold & shipped across the sea once a year. For those in Whithren, this trade creates exciting possibilities: the chance to escape their constantly sweltering city to head across the sea. Meanwhile, in a small house, a young woman dies in childbirth. Her last words are an attempt to tell her daughter of the life she will have and her inheritance of a recurring dream that must be kept secret; for it contains the memories of another age long before us, one where magic and myth were alive in the world.
