Closed Circuit HD480p 19MB HD720p 86MB
Conspiracy thriller in which two ex-lovers (Eric Bana, Rebecca Hall) find their loyalties tested and their lives at risk when they are joined together on the defense team in a terrorism trial. Also part of the cast are Riz Ahmed, Jim Broadbent, Kenneth Cranham, Ciarán Hinds, Julia Stiles and Denis Moschitto. Directed by John Crowley (Boy A, Intermission, Is Anybody There?) and written by Steve Knight (Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things).
I love me a good conspiracy thriller and this looks like one.
The Family HD480p 27MB HD720p 55MB
Dark action comedy that tells the story of the Manzonis, a notorious mafia family (Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Dianna Agron, John D'Leo) who gets relocated to Normandy, France under the witness protection program. While they do their best to fit in, old habits die hard and they soon find themselves handling things the "family" way. Tommy Lee Jones plays their handler who tries to keep track of them. And it's directed by ... Luc Besson (The Fifth Element, Nikita, Léon).
At least the trailer looks funnier than expected.
The To Do List HD480p 36MB HD720p 71MB
Redband trailer for this comedy set in 1993 in which valedictorian Brandy Klark (Aubrey Plaza) wants to shed her uptight image before college, so she assembles a to do list of all the "activities" she missed out on in high school. Quickly realising that she's way out of her depth, she solicits her best friends (Alia Shawkat, Sarah Steele), older sister (Rachel Bilson) and burnt-out boss (Bill Hader) for their help and advice. Also part of the cast are Donald Glover, Connie Britton, Clark Gregg and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
Sadly, about on the same level as the American Pie movies.
Between Us HD480p 21MB HD720p 76MB
Darkly comedic drama based on an Off-Broadway play in which two couples reunite over two incendiary evenings where anything can happen. Grace and Carlo (Julia Stiles, Taye Diggs) are a newly married New York couple who visit their old friends Sharyl and Joel (Melissa George, David Harbour) in their huge Midwestern home. Despite their wealth, the hosts are in a bitterly destructive marriage. A few years later, the couples reunite in New York, only to find tables turned.
I think the trailer does the movie a disservice, since there's very little dialogue which I suspect will be important given the fact that it's based on a play. And pointing out that most of the actors so far never won anything important doesn't help either. Despite that, I think it might me a worthwhile relationship drama.
A Touch of Sin - Tian zhu ding HD720p 23MB
Drama from China that tells the story of four people in four different provinces. A reflection on contemporary China: that of an economic giant slowly being eroded by violence. An angry miner revolts against the corruption of his village leaders. A migrant worker at home for the New Year discovers the infinite possibilities a firearm can offer. A pretty receptionist at a sauna is pushed to the limit when a rich client assaults her. A young factory worker goes from job to job trying to improve his lot in life.
Won the Award for Best Screenplay last week in Cannes.
