They Cloned Tyrone HD720p 37MB
Comedic Mystery caper that follows a series of multiple creepy and eerie events that propels an unlikely trio (John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, Jamie Foxx) onto a trail that leads to the discovery of a nefarious government conspiracy.
That looks like a lot of fun. Starts streaming on Netflix today.
A Haunting in Venice HD720p 27MB
Full trailer for the third Hercule Poirot portrayal by Kenneth Branagh (Much Ado About Nothing, Thor, Belfast), who also once again directs. This time it's set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve. Poirot, now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets. Cast members include Michelle Yeoh, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Kelly Reilly and Riccardo Scamarcio.
Still looks like a horror thriller.
The Holdovers HD720p 95MB
Trailer for the latest comedic drama directed by Alexander Payne (Sideways, About Schmidt, Downsizing). It follows a curmudgeonly instructor (Paul Giamatti) at a New England prep school who is forced to remain on campus during Christmas break to babysit the handful of students with nowhere to go. Eventually he forms an unlikely bond with one of them - a damaged, brainy troublemaker (Dominic Sessa) - and with the school’s head cook, who has just lost a son in Vietnam (Da’Vine Joy Randolph).
The tonal shifts in the trailer, emphasised by the changes in music, are not exactly subtle.
Robot Dreams HD1080p 33MB
Dialogue-free, animated movie based on the graphic novel by Sara Varon about friendship, its importance, and its fragility. Dog lives in Manhattan and he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms, until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of 80’s NYC. One summer night, Dog, with great sadness, is forced to abandon Robot at the beach. Will they ever meet again? Directed by Spaniard director Pablo Berger (Blancanieves, Torremolinos 73).
Premiered as a special screening in Cannes where it was very well received.
The Pod Generation HD1080p 19MB
Satirical drama about a New York couple that lives in a not-so-distant future where technology provides ever-more convenient living. A rising tech company executive, Rachel (Emilia Clarke) lands a coveted spot at the Womb Center, which offers couples a convenient (and shareable) maternity by way of detachable artificial wombs, or pods. But Alvy (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a botanist with an affection for nature, prefers a natural pregnancy. And yet, as Rachel’s AI therapist puts it, why is that “natural”? So begins the tech-paved path to parenthood. Written and directed by Sophie Barthes (Madame Bovary, Cold Souls).
Festival reviews are a bit mixed.
Barbie HD720p 27MB
Short bonus clip in which Ken (Ryan Gosling) sings about his existential crisis of being just Ken.
