Brothers HD720p 36MB
Comedy about a reformed criminal (Josh Brolin) whose attempt at going straight is derailed when he reunites with his sanity-testing twin brother (Peter Dinklage) on a cross-country road trip for the score of a lifetime. Dodging bullets, the law, and an overbearing mother (Glenn Close) along the way, they must heal their severed family bond before they end up killing each other. Brendan Fraser and Marisa Tomei are also part of the cast. Directed by Max Barbakow (Palm Springs).
Humour-wise it feels a bit simple. But the cast! Will start streaming on Amazon Prime October 17th.
Killer Heat HD720p 27MB
Noir crime drama that follows private eye Nick Bali (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), an American expat in Greece, who is hired to investigate the supposed accidental death of young shipping magnate Leo Vardakis (Richard Madden) on the island of Crete. The victim’s sister-in-law (Shailene Woodley) doesn’t believe the official police report. But what exactly happened to Leo, and why?
Interestingly, directed by Philippe Lacôte (Night of the Kings) from the Ivory Coast. Will start streaming on Amazon Prime September 26th.
Mickey 17 HD720p 34MB
Sci-fi comedy about unlikely hero Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson) who has found himself in the extraordinary circumstance of working for an employer who demands the ultimate commitment to the job… to die, for a living. Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo are also part of the cast. Directed by Bong Joon-ho (Parasite, Snowpiercer, The Host).
Not sure if this will work out, but it's worth noting that it's Bong Joon-ho's first project since winning a couple of Oscars for Parasite.
Megalopolis Tlr1 HD720p 30MB Tlr2 HD720p 17MB
Two more trailer for the latest movie written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather trilogy, Apocalypse Now, One from the Heart) that's increasingly mired in controversy. It's described as being a Roman Epic fable set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver), a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor’s daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves. Also part of the cast are Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman and Dustin Hoffman.
Reviews of the film are very mixed. It will now finally have a global theatrical release starting next weekend.
Small Things Like These HD720p 29MB
Drama set in 1985, in the run-up to Christmas in a small town in County Wexford, Ireland. Bill Furlong (Cillian Murphy) toils as a coal merchant to support himself, his wife and his five daughters. Early one morning while out delivering coal at the local convent, he makes a discovery that forces him to confront his past and the complicit silence of a town controlled by the Catholic Church. Emily Watson is also part of the cast. Based on the novel by Claire Keegan.
I don't think I want to see another film about the misdeeds of the Catholic Church, but festival reviews are very favourable.

Date: 24 Sep 2024 11:05 (UTC)Megalopolis looks like fascinating spectacle, at least.
Killer Heat failed to grab me. Nothing in the trailer that hasn't been done thousands of times before. (Even if I do love Joseph Gordon-Levitt in general.)
And I'm with you on Brothers.
