3D action-adventure set in 18th century Japan. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Keanu Reeves) - a half-breed they once rejected - as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors. Also part of the cast are Hiroyuki Sanada, Tadanobu Asano and Rinko Kikuchi.
Dialogue probably won't be the movie's forte but the visuals look quite attractive, though there seems to be the risk of overkill. Movie has been in trouble and delayed by more than a year. The big-budget project was maybe a bit much for first-time director Carl Rinsch. But that's hard to judge just from the trailer.

Tragic thriller set in the backwoods of West Virginia that starts with a bang: a single shot, aimed at a lone deer, that hits and kills a young woman. The hunter (Sam Rockwell) watches her die before discovering a box of money near her body. In a desperate panic, he takes the cash, hiring a low-rent lawyer (William H. Macy) to fight his wife's (Kelly Reilly) divorce suit, and attempts to cover up the killing. But when he discovers that the money belonged to a group of hardened criminals, the hunter becomes the hunted in this tense cat-and-mouse struggle. Jeffery Wright and Jason Isaacs are also part of the cast.
Probably not as good as the trailer, still looks like another well-chosen role for Rockwell.

It's mainly a fight movie set in bustling Beijing where an ambitious young man called "Tiger" (Tiger Chen) works as a lowly courier. But after work, he is a young martial arts star, rising through the ranks representing the Ling Kong Tai Chi tradition. Though most associate Tai Chi with peaceful, yoga-like movements, Tiger has perfected the ancient art and started to make a name for himself in the prestigious Wulin Wang martial arts championship. Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, a police investigator (Karen Mok), who works for the organized crime unit OCTB, has run into a wall in her pursuit of a powerful Hong Kong businessmen (Reeves) who runs a secret underground fighting ring, where cold hard cash is made by defeating one's opponent in a no-holds barred fight privately broadcast to wealthy patrons. Looking for a new "star," he tries to lure Tiger with the promise of easy money. Simon Yam is also part of the cast.

While calculating young movie producer Christian (James Deen) makes films to keep his trust fund intact, his actress girlfriend (Lindsay Lohan), hides an affair with an actor from her past. But Christian becomes aware of her infidelity, which leads the young Angelenos into a violent, sexually-charged tour through the dark side of human nature.
Trailer is short and doesn't show too much, but it doesn't look too bad. But "stunt casting" is still the first thing that comes to mind, even if it was in part because of budget restraints. The long NYT article about the movie that was doing the rounds earlier this year.

Final film of Claude Miller (A Secret, Garde a Vue, The Little Thief) that premiered in Cannes last year.
