Second full trailer for the latest movie from Martin Scorsese (The Departed, Goodfellas, Gangs of New York ). It is based on Jordan Belfort's best-selling memoir which chronicles Belfort's (Leonardo DiCaprio) dramatic rise and fall on Wall Street, along with his hard-partying lifestyle and tumultuous personal life, which included drug and alcohol addiction. Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Jon Favreau, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Margot Robbie and Jean Dujardin are also part of the cast.
Looks like so much more fun than most of the calculated Oscar-bait dramas.

US trailer for this very ambitious romantic, sci-fi drama from 2009 that will finally get a limited release in the States starting this weekend. Set in the not-so-distant future, the story follows Nemo Nobody (Jared Leto) who, being 120 years old, is the last mortal surrounded by happy immortals as he relives his real and imaginary years of marriage. A multi-layered love story develops due to the various 'butterfly effect'-like "what-if" scenarios. Sarah Polley, Rhys Ifans, Diane Kruger are also part of the cast.
Despite being usually susceptible to movies like that, as far as I remember, the movie didn't really click for me. But as an independent effort certainly worth a look.

Supernatural thriller that's actually a Spanish production that film centres on a man (Mark Strong) with the ability to enter people's memories. He takes on a girl's (Taissa Farmiga) case to discover whether she is a brilliant sociopath or traumatized teen. Brian Cox, Indira Varma, Noah Taylor and Saskia Reeves are also part of the cast.
As much as I like Strong, I'm just not a fan of this genre.

The couple agrees to the plan, on one condition: Andie must move in with them for the duration of the pregnancy. But can the women's friendship survive until birth?

The full title of this documentary adds "An Animated Conversation with Noam Chomsky" which serves as a useful description. It's from Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine, The Science of Sleep, Block Party) who talks with Chomsky and is also responsible for the animations. It's a doc on the life of the controversial MIT professor, philosopher, linguist, anti-war activist and political firebrand. Through complex, lively conversations with Chomsky and illustrations by Gondry, the film reveals the life and work of the father of modern linguistics while also exploring his theories on the emergence of language.
Hard to say if it will make understanding Chomsky easier, but it's certainly a very interesting approach.
