Adult World HD720p 49MB
Comedic coming-of-age story about a naïve, awkward and anxious young poet (Emma Roberts) trying to get her career off the ground. Living with her parents in a seemingly bland upstate New York town and desperate for income, she begrudgingly accepts a job at Adult World, the local sex shop. Owned by a frisky elderly couple and staffed by sweet local boy Alex, Amy balances her work amongst the pornography and sex toys by fiercely pursuing a surefire kick start for her success: a mentorship with reclusive star poet Rat Billings (John Cusack).
Apparently not as funny as the trailer, but Cusack's amusing supporting role certainly makes it worth checking out.
The Square - Al Midan HD480p 25MB HD720p 39MB
One of the Oscar nominated documentaries, it tells the behind-the-headlines story of the Egyptian Revolution through the eyes of young activists who have sought for the last two years to build a better Egypt. The film captures the immediacy and intensity of the protests in Tahrir Square from the 2011 overthrow of military leader Hosni Mubarak through the ousting of Mohammed Morsi in 2013, providing a kaleidoscopic, visceral portrait of the events as they unfold.
A worthy contender. Now in theatres in the UK and the US, and also available on Netflix.
A Promise HD720p 27MB
Romantic drama set in pre-First World War Germany, based on a novel by Stefan Zweig. A young graduate of humble origins (Richard Madden) gets a job at a steelworks. His abilities earn him the trust of the elderly and ailing owner (Alan Rickman), who makes him his personal secretary. Often working at his master's house the young man gets to know the boss's young wife, a beautiful and reserved woman (Rebecca Hall). Very soon they develop a rapport made up solely of glances and silences, but when the young man is forced to leave for Mexico on business, the woman reveals her love and promises him that upon his return she will be his. Separated by the ocean the two lovers exchange passionate letters. Directed by Patrice Leconte (Girl on the Bridge, Intimate Strangers, The Hairdresser's Husband).
Despite the great cast, and the usually reliable director, festival reviews sadly found it a rather disappointing effort.

You missed the original Starbuck from Canada? You ignored the US remake Delivery Man starring Vince Vaughn? Then how about the French remake about a guy who, 20 years ago, regularly donated his sperm for research purposes. Now aged 42, he delivers fish for his family's firm, and lives like a fun-loving teenager. But when his girlfriend Elsa announces she's pregnant, his past starts to catch up with him. He discovers that he's the biological father to 533 children, 142 of whom want to know just who he is.
Diminishing returns. But by comparing the three movies it probably would make for an interesting study what studio executives around the world think audiences find funny.
Walk of Shame HD720p 55MB
R-rated comedy about an aspiring Los Angeles TV news anchor (Elizabeth Banks) who, after losing an audition for her dream job, goes out for an uncharacteristic night of partying. She awakes in a stranger's bed to a phone message from her agent telling her the job is hers, if she can make it across town by 5 pm. Stranded in an unknown area without money, a phone, and a car, she embarks on a series of misadventures as she races to the most important job interview of her life. James Marsden, Gillian Jacobs and Kevin Nealon are also part of the cast. Written and directed by Steven Brill (Mr. Deeds, Drillbit Taylor).
I feel sorry for Banks. Then again, nobody forced her to take the role. I hope.
Muppets Most Wanted HD720p 8MB
The promo campaign for the new Muppets movie can't keep up with the previous one, but I thought this is a fun 30-second spot.
Edit: A similar one-minute spot: HD720p 13MB
