They Came Together HD720p 117MB
Romantic comedy parody that tells the epic love story of a corporate executive (Paul Rudd) for Candy Systems and Research, a mega candy store chain, and the owner (Amy Poehler) of a small sweet shop called Upper Sweet Side. When he's tasked with shutting down her mom-and-pop operation, the unlikely lovers find themselves hurtled into a whirlwind romance. From quaint bookstores and coffee shops to neurotic family members and psychotic ex-lovers, the two must face some harrowing obstacles on their path to true love. Ed Helms, Cobie Smulders, Max Greenfield, Christopher Meloni, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Hader, Ellie Kemper plus a few other comics are also part of the cast. Directed by David Wain (Wanderlust, Role Models).
Amusing, but a whole movie like that might be a bit much.
Blue Ruin HD480p 15MB HD720p 72MB
Violent, no-nonsense thriller with an unknown cast about a peaceful vagrant who finds his quiet life upended by dreadful news and sets off for his childhood home to carry out an act of vengeance. Since he is only an amateur assassin, he winds up in a brutal fight to protect his estranged family.
If you like intense thrillers without a lot of dialogue this movie is recommended. Best of all, the trailer doesn't give a lot away. Now in limited release and available on demand in the US, and in the UK next weekend.
The Internet's Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz HD480p 25MB HD720p 48MB
Documentary that tells the story of programming prodigy and information activist Aaron Swartz. From Swartz's help in the development of the basic internet protocol RSS to his co-founding of Reddit, his fingerprints are all over the internet. But it was Swartz's groundbreaking work in social justice and political organizing combined with his aggressive approach to information access that ensnared him in a two year legal nightmare. It was a battle that ended with the taking of his own life at the age of 26.
Collateral damage of the fucked up priorities of the US justice system.
Boyhood HD480p 17MB HD720p 61MB
Movie experiment written and directed by Richard Linklater ("Before" trilogy, Waking Life, Dazed and Confused)). Filmed from 2002 to 2013, the movie covers 12 years in the life of a family. Mason and his older sister, Samantha, learn to face the realities of growing up, while their divorced parents (Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke) cope with the ongoing challenges of parenting in an ever-evolving landscape.
Critics universally rave about the movie, but so far I don't really get it. Every parent should already have "seen" this film and it just seems to blur the lines between documentary and fiction.
Anna - Mindscape HD480p 14MB HD720p 62MB
US trailer version for this supernatural thriller that centres on a man (Mark Strong) with the ability to enter people's memories. He takes on a girl's (Taissa Farmiga) case to discover whether she is a brilliant sociopath or traumatized teen. Brian Cox, Indira Varma, Noah Taylor and Saskia Reeves are also part of the cast.
As I said before, I very much like Strong, but I'm just not a fan of this genre.
