Romantic, comedic, social drama (if there's such a thing) which is the new movie directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, the French duo that was responsible for the huge European success The Intouchables. It's about a recent migrant to France (Omar Sy). Washing dishes in the back kitchen of a fancy hotel is hardly his European dream, but it gets worse when a bureaucratic slip-up lands him in detention. There he meets an immigration worker (Charlotte Gainsbourg) new to the job and unused to the hard realities of life on France's bottom rung. When he is released but slapped with an order to leave France, she begins to let her professional role bleed into her personal life. Tahar Rahim is also part of the cast.
A lot of familiar elements but I can understand that especially Gainsbourg wanted a break from getting tortured by Lars von Trier. And it's probably much more charming than a probable US remake.

UK trailer for this comedy about a screenwriter (Hugh Grant) who, once upon a time, was on top of the world – a Golden Globe Award and a hit movie to his name, a beautiful wife and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of wit and charm. But that was fifteen years ago: now, he's divorced, broke, approaching fifty and hasn't written a hit film in years. Luckily, his agent has a job for him – a university in the quiet town of Binghamton is looking for someone to teach a course in screenwriting, and with an empty wallet as his motivation, he can't say no. Hoping to give minimal attention to his duties and focus on writing a new script, his attitude slowly begins to turn when he meets a single mum (Marisa Tomei) working two jobs to earn her degree. Allison Janney, J.K. Simmons, Chris Elliott and Bella Heathcote are also part of the cast. Movie re-unites Grant with director Marc Lawrence (Music and Lyrics, Two Weeks Notice, Did You Hear About the Morgans?).
As much as I'm delighted by the thought of a rom-com starring Grant and Tomei, I fear it will mainly make me long for Grant's older movies.

Coming of age drama directed by Gregg Araki (Kaboom, Smiley Face). Kat (Shailene Woodley) is 17 years old when her perfect homemaker mother Eve (Eva Green), a beautiful, enigmatic, and haunted woman, disappears - just as she is discovering and relishing her newfound sexuality. Having lived for so long in a stifled, emotionally repressed household, she barely registers her mother's absence and certainly doesn't blame her doormat of a father (Christopher Meloni) for the loss. In fact, it's almost a relief. But as time passes, Kat begins to come to grips with how deeply Eve's disappearance has affected her. Shiloh Fernandez, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett and Thomas Jane are also part of the cast.
You can choose between the US and French trailer version.

But all that changes when the two of them are called out to a domestic dispute between a junkie couple (Nikolaj Lie Kaas, May Andersen), caught in a vicious cycle of violence and drugs. It all looks very routine – until Andreas finds the couple's infant son, crying in a closet. As Andreas slowly loses his grip on justice, it suddenly becomes up to the unruly Simon to restore the balance between right and wrong.

A new trailer for this much delayed fantasy action adventure, this time strongly promoting the fact that it is financed by hedge-funds. That should sell a few extra tickets.

Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges), the last of the Falcon Knights, had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch, Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore), many years ago. But now she has escaped and is seeking vengeance. Summoning her followers of every incarnation, she is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world. Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory. Also part of the cast are Ben Barnes, Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Olivia Williams, Antje Traue and Djimon Hounsou.
