She's Funny That Way HD720p 47MB
Romantic farce in which a young Hollywood starlet (Imogen Poots) recalls how the actions of a charming Broadway director (Owen Wilson), changed her life forever. As told to a reporter (Illeana Douglas) in a not-so-reliable recollection of events, the Brooklyn-born former escort reminisces about how a rendezvous with the director turned into a larger-than-expected sum of money and an offer she couldn't refuse. Like a cockeyed fairy tale, a chain of events affecting the lives of everyone involved commences, including his wife (Kathryn Hahn), the leading man (Rhys Ifans), the playwright (Will Forte) and even her therapist (Jennifer Aniston). There will be additional small roles and cameos by Lucy Punch, Joanna Lumley, Michael Shannon and many more. Also noteworthy, it's directed by Peter Bogdanovich (What's Up, Doc?, Paper Moon, Mask).
The (too) fast-cut trailer makes it very difficult to judge how funny the actual movie will be. But reviews indicate that while it's not great, it's okay.
Everly Green HD720p 25MB Red HD720p 21MB
Action thriller centred on a woman (Salma Hayek) who faces down assassins sent by her ex, a sadistic mob boss, while holed up in her apartment. That's the summary of the movie. I believe that's what you call truth in advertising. Directed by Joe Lynch (Knights of Badassdom).
You can choose between a greenband and a redband trailer version with the latter one naturally giving a better impression of what the movie will be about.
Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem HD720p 13MB
Tense religious courtroom drama from Israel about an Israeli woman (Ronit Elkabetz) seeking to finalise a divorce (gett) from her estranged husband (Simon Abkarian) who finds herself effectively put on trial by her country's religious marriage laws. In Israel, there is neither civil marriage nor civil divorce; only Orthodox rabbis can legalise a union or its dissolution, which is only possible with the husband’s full consent. Trapped in a loveless marriage, she has been applying for a divorce for three years but her religiously devout husband (Simon Abkarian) continually refuses.
Israel's official submission for best foreign language film, though it didn't make the cut for the final selection.
Last Days in Vietnam HD720p 31MB
Documentary about the chaotic final days of the Vietnam War, during which the North Vietnamese Army closes in on Saigon as South Vietnamese resistance crumbles. The United States has only a skeleton crew of diplomats and military operatives still in the country. As Communist victory becomes inevitable and the U.S. readies to withdraw, some Americans begin to consider the certain imprisonment and possible death of their South Vietnamese allies, co-workers, and friends. Meanwhile, the prospect of an official evacuation of South Vietnamese becomes terminally delayed by Congressional gridlock and the inexplicably optimistic U.S. Ambassador. With the clock ticking and the city under fire, a number of heroic Americans take matters into their own hands, engaging in unsanctioned and often makeshift operations in a desperate effort to save as many South Vietnamese lives as possible.
Limited theatrical release in the US already started last fall, but now that it's nominated for an Oscar it will probably again get some attention.
We'll Never Have Paris HD720p 34MB
Romantic comedy about Quinn (Simon Helberg) who has been in a devoted relationship with Devon (Melanie Lynskey) for several years, and is ready to propose marriage until a gorgeous blonde co-worker (Maggie Grace) reveals her love for him. He immediately has second thoughts about matrimony and ends up terminating his relationship with his long-time better half. After a brief relationship with the blonde, he quickly realises he's made the mistake of a lifetime, so he sets off to Paris, where his one and only true love has moved, to win her back. There are also appearances by Zachary Quinto, Alfred Molina and Judith Light. It's also written by Helberg and co-directed by him and his wife Jocelyn Towne.
Looks more like male fantasy than either romantic or comedic. And while I admit that I'm prone to such movies, there are limits.
