It focuses almost entirely on a free-spirited couple, both of them painters. Einar (Eddie Redmayne), has just had a successful gallery show, but Gerda (Alicia Vikander) struggles to gain attention for her work. One day, she asks her husband to stand in for a female model so she can complete her latest painting. Einar is overwhelmed by the experience of putting on beautiful, feminine clothes, and soon it turns into a quiet obsession. As he gradually rediscovers himself, Gerda's paintings of him as a woman begin to attract serious attention. Also part of the cast are Ben Whishaw, Sebastian Koch, Amber Heard and Matthias Schoenaerts. Directed by Tom Hooper (The King's Speech, Les Misérables, The Damned United)
The kind of rather conventional movie with great acting performances the Academy tends to love.

US trailer for the latest adaptation of William Shakespeare's period tragedy that premiered last month in Cannes where in got very favourable reviews. It is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader (Michael Fassbender) brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of Shakespeare's most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn 11th Century Scotland. Marion Cotillard plays Lady Macbeth. David Thewlis, Elizabeth Debicki, Jack Reynor, Sean Harris and Paddy Considine are also part of the cast.
Demands to be seen on the big screen.

Indie sci-fi drama about David (Mark Webber) and Adam (David Clayton Rogers) who lead an isolated existence in their spacious apartment in New York. One of them is a brilliant robotics expert who has worked for a private institution ever since graduating at the age of nineteen, the other is his product: a robot in human form, gradually exploring his potential. When beautiful robot expert Joy (Lucy Griffiths) comes round to study the two for a week for an article about David and his work, Adam starts to display disturbingly competitive behaviour.
While less polished, the similarities with Ex Machina are ... uncanny. Festival reviews indicate that it is a companion piece worth checking out.

The athletes are suspected of carrying out a spate of crimes in extremely unusual ways. Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the architects of this string of inconceivable crimes. Teresa Palmer, Ray Winstone, Delroy Lindo and James LeGros are also part of the cast.
Still reminds me of one of those extreme sports films, usually sponsored by Red Bull, around which they constructed a story for which they could use the established "Point Break" name. Having said that, it does seem to be a hell of a ride.
