Up For Love - Un homme à la hauteur     HD720p 28MB
Romantic comedy from France, a remake of an Argentinian movie. Diane (Virginie Efira) is brilliant, beautiful, witty, and a formidable lawyer. She's just put an end to a toxic, unhappy marriage and is finally considering the idea of meeting someone new. A series of fateful events lead her to receive a phone call from the mysterious Alexandre (Jean Dujardin), who has found her lost mobile. Courteous, funny, and effortlessly charming, he soon wins Diane over, and before she knows it, she's agreed to a date. But their first meeting is not quite what either of them expected. Directed by Laurent Tirard (Molière, Astérix and Obélix: God Save Britannia).
The obvious question is of course why not let a shorter person play the lead instead of using digital effects on Dujardin. But it is difficult to resist Dujardin's charme.

Masterminds     HD720p 92MB
A new trailer for this action comedy based, of course, on true events in which David Ghantt (Zach Galifianakis) discovers the true meaning of adventure. He is a simple man stuck in a monotonous life. Every day he drives an armored car, transporting millions with no escape in sight. The only bit of excitement is his crush (Kristen Wiig), who lures him into the scheme of a lifetime. Along with a group of half-brained criminals (Owen Wilson among them) and a faulted heist plan, he manages the impossible and makes off with $17 million ... only problem is he foolishly hands the money over to this group of double-crossers and is set up to take the fall. Jason Sudeikis, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon are also part of the cast. Directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, Gentlemen Broncos).
If your producing movie studio goes bankrupt, causing the delay of the release for more than a year, it gives you the chance to make a new trailer. And the opportunity to adjust your title cards to mention that it stars not just Wiig, but also has (probably small) roles for two more of the recent Ghostbusters. I wonder if they even re-cut the movie.

London Road     HD720p 30MB
Musical from the UK based on the stage production that documents the events that shook Suffolk in 2006, when the quiet rural town of Ipswich was shattered by the discovery of the bodies of five women. The residents of London Road had struggled for years with frequent soliciting and curb-crawling on their street. The film follows the community who found themselves at the epicentre of the tragic events, and is based on interviews conducted with the road's real residents. Using their own words set to an innovative musical score. Cast includes Olivia Colman and Tom Hardy and many members of the original National Theatre stage cast.

Hacksaw Ridge     HD720p 46MB
Patriotic war movie that tells the story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Sam Worthington, Vince Vaughn, Richard Roxburgh, Teresa Palmer, Luke Bracey, Rachel Griffiths and Hugo Weaving are also part of the cast. Directed by Mel Gibson (Apocalypto, The Passion of the Christ, Braveheart).
Difficult to say what I dislike more, Gibson's religious or his "patriotic" movies. Film will premiere out of competition in Venice. The full festival line-up.

The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years     HD720p 33MB
Documentary focused on The Beatles' touring years, from the early days of the Cavern Club in Liverpool and engagements in Hamburg in the early ’60s to their last public concert in Candlestick Park, San Francisco, in 1966. It is said to contain some never before seen footage. Directed by Ron Howard (The Da Vinci Code, Apollo 13, Rush).
It's all a bit confusing, but at least part of the doc will premiere in the US on Hulu mid-September.

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage     HD720p 21MB
For the release of the recent trailer for the sequel the studio made almost a dozen 10 second teasers. Someone put them all together into one clip and I find the result quite amusing.
