It follows 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl (Ferdia Shaw), a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance. Among the better known cast members are Josh Gad and Judi Dench.

The official summary tells us that it introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask. More voices will be provided by Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber and Nicolas Cage.
I still don't know what to make of this. But early reviews are very positive. Among the producers are two of the guys behind the Lego Movies, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. And it has a rather prominent, global release date, one week before Christmas.

What neither of them knows is that their lives are already connected through a terrible crime Seeband committed decades ago. I haven't seen the 3 hours epic, but I got the impression that international festival reviews were often much kinder than German ones, which often described the movie as pretentious and superficial. Then again, we are critical bunch. Especially when it comes to our recent history.
