Trailer for the latest drama written and directed by Martin McDonagh (In Bruges, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Seven Psychopaths). Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, it follows lifelong friends Pádraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Pádraic, aided by his sister Siobhán (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavors to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Pádraic's repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate.
Will take part in the official competition at the end of the month in Venice.

Trailer for the latest comedic drama written and directed by Ruben Östlund (The Square, Force Majeure). Models Carl and Yaya are navigating the world of fashion while exploring the boundaries of their relationship. The couple are invited for a luxury cruise with a rogues’ gallery of super-rich passengers, a Russian oligarch, British arms dealers and an idiosyncratic, alcoholic, Marx-quoting captain. At first, all appears Instagrammable. But a storm is brewing, and heavy seasickness hits the passengers during the seven-course captain’s dinner.
Reviews were very mixed, but it was awarded the Golden Palm this year in Cannes.

Drama with probably some "horror" and darkly comedic elements about a couple (Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult) that travels to a coastal island to eat at an exclusive restaurant where the chef (Ralph Fiennes) has prepared a lavish menu, with some shocking surprises. John Leguizamo, Judith Light and Janet McTeer are also part of the cast.

Action drama about best friends Becky and Hunter, whose life is all about conquering fears and pushing limits. But after they climb 2,000 feet to the top of a remote, abandoned radio tower, they find themselves stranded with no way down. Now their expert climbing skills will be put to the ultimate test as they desperately fight to survive the elements, a lack of supplies, and vertigo-inducing heights.
If you accept "the ludicrous awesomeness of its premise" (as one review puts it), and if you can deal with the height, then this might be some entertaining b-movie fun. And I learned that such masts really exist in the US. An earlier teaser that you should maybe watch first: HD720p 56MB.

Action thriller with some horror elements from Senegal. Set in 2003, three mercenaries extracting a druglord out of Guinea-Bissau are forced to hide in the mystical region of Saloum, Senegal.
Probably hard to access since it will start streaming on Shudder September 8th, but this looks interesting and got some very favourable festival reviews.
