Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit HD480p 144MB HD720p 139MB HD1080p 143MB
It always leaves a bad aftertaste when a trailer gets released shortly after the death of a major participant of a movie project. But here's the trailer for the re-boot of the Jack Ryan franchise based on characters by Tom Clancy. It takes Ryan (Chris Pine) back to the early stages of his career in the CIA when a senior operative (Kevin Costner) enlists him for a covert operation in Moscow. The Cold War may be over, but there is a new threat to global stability in the form of Russian power player (Kenneth Branagh). Ryan begins to question if there is anyone he can trust, including his own wife (Keira Knightley). Branagh also directs (Much Ado About Nothing, Thor, Henry V).
Encoders at Paramount seem to have a special sense of humour, making all three files with vastly different resolutions roughly the same size.
The Invisible Woman HD720p 22MB
Period drama that marks the second movie directed by Ralph Fiennes (Coriolanus). It tells the story of actress Nelly Ternan (Felicity Jones) who was performing in London's Haymarket Theatre when she was first spotted by Charles Dickens (Fiennes), who subsequently cast her in one of his productions. The year was 1857. Dickens was forty-five and had been married some twenty years. Ternan was seventeen. The two began an affair, which was kept a secret from the general public for the duration of their lives. Kristin Scott Thomas and Tom Hollander are also part of the cast.
There was a lot of talk about possible award nominations after recent festival screenings, especially for Jones.
Out of the Furnace HD480p 19MB HD720p 89MB
Second trailer for this drama about family, fate, circumstance, and justice about a man (Christian Bale) who has a rough life: he works a dead-end blue collar job at the local steel mill by day, and cares for his terminally ill father by night. When his brother (Casey Affleck) returns home from serving time in Iraq, he gets lured into one of the most ruthless crime rings in the Northeast and mysteriously disappears. The police fail to crack the case he takes matters into his own hands, putting his life on the line to seek justice for his brother. Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Zoe Saldana, Sam Shepard and Willem Dafoe are also part of the cast. Directed and co-written by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart).
How I Live Now HD480p 20MB HD720p 32MB
Big screen adaptation of a young-adult novel which is set in the near-future UK. An American teenager (Saoirse Ronan) sent to stay with relatives in the English countryside. Initially withdrawn and alienated, she begins to warm up to her charming surroundings, and strikes up a romance with the handsome Edmund (George MacKay). But on the fringes of their idyllic summer days are tense news reports of an escalating conflict in Europe. As the UK falls into a violent, chaotic military state, she finds herself hiding and fighting to survive. Directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play, The Eagle).
From what I've read Macdonald, resisted producing a literal adaptation but made changes in order to deliver a good movie. But it still leaves the challenge of combining the romantic love story and the dark setting. Also, a music video by Natasha Khan and Jon Hopkins that confirms that this at least partially is a rather dark affair: HD720p 55MB.
I, Frankenstein HD720p 29MB
Big screen adaptation of the graphic novel which is set in a dystopian present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality. Also part of the cast are Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto and Jai Courtney.
Even without the insert it can already be guessed that it's from the producers of the "Underworld" franchise. It could easily pass for some sort of sequel. Or a video game.
Godzilla HD720p 32MB
Briefly available last night, the promo teaser that was shown at Comic-Con for the upcoming monster movie directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters). I'll write more after an official release.
