Noah HD480p 24MB HD720p 94MB HD1080p 168MB
The official summary just reads: Russell Crowe stars as Noah, a man chosen by God for a great task before an apocalyptic flood destroys the world. And I guess that's all you have to know. Also part of the cast are Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Anthony Hopkins as Methuselah. Directed by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream).
They released a number of trailer variations at the same time. Here's one of the "international English" ones: HD720p 33MB.
Cuban Fury HD720p 57MB
Feelgood romantic comedy from the UK about a former salsa prodigy (Nick Frost) whose career was ruined years ago by a rival dancer. He now finds himself out-of-shape and unloved - trapped in a downward spiral of self-pity. Only Julia (Rashida Jones), his smart, funny, gorgeous new American boss, gives him reason to live. There's also Drew (Chris O’Dowd), his alpha male colleague and horny king-monkey of the office who also has an eye on her. So he's forced into action. With a lot of handholding from loyal sister (Olivia Colman) he must learn how to unshackle his dancing beast, regain his long lost fury and claim the love of his life. Ian McShane, Rory Kinnear and Wendi McLendon-Covey are also part of the cast.
Despite the cast, it looks like a rather conventional affair.
The Physician HD1080p 48MB
Big screen adaptation of the novel by Noah Gordon. It tells the story of Rob Cole (Tom Payne), a boy who is left a penniless orphan in an 11th-century English mining town when his mother dies of a mysterious illness. Vowing to become a physician and vanquish Death itself, he travels to Isfahan in Persia to study medicine under the great Ibn Sina (Ben Kingsley). Through countless ordeals and challenges, and making many sacrifices along the way, he struggles on unwaveringly. His unflagging quest for knowledge leads to the blossoming of friendship and true love. Also part of the cast are Stellan Skarsgård, Olivier Martinez and Emma Rigby. Directed by Philipp Stölzl (North Face, Young Goethe in Love, The Expatriate).
International cast notwithstanding, this is a German production. So it may take a while to get international distribution.
Gloria HD720p 22MB
Drama with comedic elements about Gloria, a "woman of a certain age" who still feels young. Though lonely, she makes the best of her situation and fills her nights seeking love at social dance clubs for single adults. Her fragile happiness changes the day she meets Rodolfo. Their intense passion, to which Gloria gives her all, leaves her vacillating between hope and despair - until she uncovers a new strength and realises that, in her golden years, she can shine brighter than ever.
Paulina García won the Best Actress award for her performance this year in Berlin. Movie is also Chile's submission for the Foreign Language Oscar.
Dear Mr. Watterson HD480p 15MB HD720p 26MB
Documentary about the impact of the newspaper comic strip Calvin & Hobbes created by Bill Watterson. Apparently, a bit of a lightweight affair, consisting of a lot of praise of how the good the strip was (and still is). But it's very difficult to resist a doc about Calvin & Hobbes. Naturally, Watterson himself wasn't involved in the making. But he recently gave an interview.
Now in limited release in the US. I highly recommend adding the daily strip that gets re-released online to your essential reading list for a better start of the day.
