Citizenfour     HD720p 21MB
Short but very effective trailer for this documentary that plays like a thriller about Edward Snowden and the events in the last two years. In January 2013, filmmaker Laura Poitras was in the process of constructing a film about abuses of national security in post-9/11 America when she started receiving encrypted e-mails from someone identifying himself as “citizen four,” who was ready to blow the whistle on the massive covert surveillance programs run by the NSA and other intelligence agencies. In June 2013, she and reporter Glenn Greenwald flew to Hong Kong for the first of many meetings with the man who turned out to be Edward Snowden. She brought her camera with her. Those tense encounters are at the centre of this documentary.
I very much hope the doc will at least get an Oscar nomination and will bring the topic of the global surveillance state back into the spotlight, as well as Obama's relentless war against whistleblowers. An extensive article about Poitras and the movie. Keep in mind, the simple fact that you watch the trailer will be stored in your NSA profile forever and will probably place you a tiny, tiny bit higher on the their list of potential terrorists.

Top Five     HD720p 33MB
Comedy about a successful comedian and movie star (Chris Rock) who, having had his work recently savaged by a New York Times critic, is now in need of a hit. His fiancé (Gabrielle Union) wants him to help boost her reality TV show, while his agent (Kevin Hart) tries to guide him to the next blockbuster. But what he really wants to do is make a serious, important film about the Haitian revolution. So he lets the Times back into his life, hoping to revitalize his image with a profile written by a whip-smart, irresistible journalist (Rosario Dawson). It's the beginning of a beautiful sparring match. There are also guest appearances by Tracy Morgan, Cedric the Entertainer, Whoopi Goldberg and a whole lot more actor/comedians. It's also written and directed by Chris Rock.
Was very well received in Toronto and should be pretty funny.

In the Heart of the Sea     HD720p 94MB   HD1080p 169MB
First trailer for this action adventure that shows the real-life maritime disaster that would inspire Herman Melville's Moby-Dick. At least in the way six credited screenwriters piece it together from a book. In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The movie reveals the encounter's harrowing aftermath, as the ship's surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain (Chris Hemsworth) searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down. Cillian Murphy, Ben Whishaw, Brendan Gleeson and Jordi Mollà are also part of the cast. Directed by Ron Howard (The Da Vinci Code, Apollo 13, Rush).

Dying of the Light     HD720p 23MB
Thriller in which a veteran CIA agent (Nicolas Cage) has been ordered to retire. But when his protégé (Anton Yelchin) uncovers evidence that his nemesis, the terrorist Banir, has resurfaced, he goes rogue, embarking on a perilous, intercontinental mission to eliminate his sworn enemy. Irène Jacob also appears. Hard to believe but it says it is written and sort of directed by Paul Schrader (American Gigolo, Cat People, The Walker).
It's starting to get difficult to even make fun of Cage. Though here apparently his ear is used to deflect from his famous, receding hairline. It seems fitting that IMDb states that the studio took the movie away from Schrader and producer Nicolas Winding Refn.

Leviathan     HD720p 69MB
Rural morality play from Russia directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev (The Return, Elena, The Banishment) that can be seen a modern reworking of the Book of Job. In a small seaside town, weather-beaten patriarch Kolya lives with his teenage son and second wife. Their idyllic homestead harbours deep-rooted familial resentments that are aggravated by the aggressions of the local mayor, a drunken, corrupt bureaucrat set on grabbing their land for himself. When Kolya calls in his lawyer friend from Moscow, this defensive tactic triggers a series of dramatic events. As can be easily be gleaned from the trailer, score is provided by Philip Glass.
Movie won high praise at festivals, it got honoured as the Best Screenplay in Cannes and is now Russia's official Foreign-language Oscar entry where it is considered among the frontrunners. Speaking of, here's the full list of 83 hopefuls.
