Thriller which is a remake of a Belgian movie from 2008 with the same name, again directed by Erik Van Looy (The Memory of a Killer). It tells the story of five married guys (Karl Urban, James Marsden, Eric Stonestreet, Wentworth Miller and Matthias Schoenaerts who reprises his role) who conspire to secretly share a penthouse loft in the city - a place where they can carry out hidden affairs and indulge in their deepest fantasies. But the fantasy becomes a nightmare when they discover the dead body of an unknown woman in the loft, and they realise one of the group must be involved. Paranoia seizes them as everyone begins to suspect one another. Isabel Lucas, Rhona Mitra, Rachael Taylor and Margarita Levieva are also part of the cast.
Very stylish looking but with a January release, the studio doesn't seem to have a lot of faith. A first redband trailer surfaced more than two years ago: Redband 16MB.

Second trailer for this action adventure that shows the real-life maritime disaster that would inspire Herman Melville's Moby-Dick. At least in the way six credited screenwriters piece it together from a book. In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The movie reveals the encounter's harrowing aftermath, as the ship's surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain (Chris Hemsworth) searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down. Cillian Murphy, Ben Whishaw, Brendan Gleeson and Jordi Mollà are also part of the cast. Directed by Ron Howard (The Da Vinci Code, Apollo 13, Rush).

Psychological cat-and-mouse drama about on-the-rise New York Times Magazine writer Michael Finkel (Jonah Hill) who receives troubling news from his editors that he is accused of falsifying part of an investigative piece on child laborers in Africa. Jobless and disgraced, he retreats from the city and falls into a depression. One day, he hears startling news that a fugitive accused of murdering his family was captured in Mexico claiming the identity of "Michael Finkel of The New York Times". Intrigued by the story, he travels to interview the accused (James Flacco or Franco or something like that) to help save his name. Felicity Jones, Ethan Suplee and Gretchen Mol are also part of the cast.
Not sure if the two lead actors are the best choice, but sounds like an interesting story.

US Trailer for the latest social drama written and directed by Belgian brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne (Lorna's Silence, The Child, Rosetta). Sandra (Marion Cotillard) has just returned to work after recovering from a serious bout with depression. Realising that the company can operate with one fewer employee, management tells her she is to be let go. After learning that her co-workers will vote to decide her fate on Monday morning, she races against time over the course of the weekend, often with the help of her husband, to convince each of her fellow employees to sacrifice their much-needed bonuses so she can keep her job.
Cotillard won the Best Actress Award at the European Film Awards for her role, an Oscar nomination might be possible. Though not anymore in the Best Foreign Language category, the movie didn't make the shortlist.
