Burnt HD720p 15MB
Drama about a chef (Bradley Cooper) who had it all – and lost it. A two-star Michelin rockstar with the bad habits to match, the former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out, and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he'll need the best of the best on his side. Also part of the cast are Sienna Miller, Omar Sy, Daniel Brühl, Matthew Rhys, Uma Thurman and Emma Thompson. Directed by John Wells (The Company Men, August: Osage County).
I'm not enough of a foodie to be able to relate to the kind of artificial drama shown in the trailer.
Life US HD720p 16MB FR HD720p 23MB
Biographical drama set in 1955, when the ambitious Hollywood photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson) and the then still unknown James Dean (Dane DeHaan) meet at one of Nicholas Ray's parties. Stock recognises in the young actor, who has just completed filming East of Eden, an extraordinary talent and hopes to further his own career via a series of portraits for "Life" magazine. Newcomer Dean is stressed by studio boss Jack Warner's (Ben Kingsley) demands for him to get on the PR bandwagon for Elia Kazan's film and goes into hiding in the country. Stock accompanies the camera-shy star to his native ranch in Indiana where he has his roots. Once back in New York, Stock captures the world famous image which keeps the legend alive to this day. Joel Edgerton is also part of the cast. Interestingly, the movie is directed by erstwhile photographer Anton Corbijn (The American, Control, A Most Wanted Man).
You can choose between trailer versions from the US and France.
Mistress America HD720p 15MB
Another amusing trailer for this indie comedy about a lonely college freshman (Lola Kirke) in New York, who is having neither the exciting university experience nor the glamorous metropolitan lifestyle she envisioned. But when she is taken in by her soon-to-be stepsister, Brooke (Greta Gerwig) – a resident of Times Square and adventurous gal about town – she is rescued from her disappointment and seduced by Brooke's alluringly mad schemes. Directed by Noah Baumbach (Greenberg, Frances Ha, While We're Young).
Now in limited release in the US.
Fort Tilden HD720p 18MB
Indie comedy about two young women in the midst of their respective quarter-life crises. Allie procrastinates preparing for her forthcoming ill-advised stint in the Peace Corps, while Harper awaits checks from her father to fund her vague artistic dreams. But the two friends quickly shun their already-meager responsibilities for the day when they insinuate themselves into the planned Fort Tilden afternoon of a pair of cute guys they met at a party. As the two young women board their bicycles and embark on a wildly complicated trek to the beach, they quickly realise that, akin to their confusing, transitioning lives, they neither know where they're going nor how they plan to get there.
Hard to say if you'll find the two funny or obnoxious, but reviews are surprisingly good. Now in limited release in the US.
We Come as Friends HD720p 38MB
More essay than traditional documentary by Hubert Sauper who made the similar themed, Oscar nominated doc Darwin's Nightmare. It's a modern odyssey, a dizzying, science fiction-like journey into the heart of Africa. At the moment when the Sudan, the continent's biggest country, is being divided into two nations, an old “civilizing” pathology re-emerges - that of colonialism, the clash of empires, and new episodes of bloody (and holy) wars over land and resources. Chinese oil workers, UN peacekeepers, Sudanese warlords, and American evangelists ironically weave common ground.
Now in limited release in the US. Also, an article about the movie and its director.
