F1     HD720p 37MB
Racing drama about Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) who was once Formula 1's most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling FORMULA 1 team that is on the verge of collapse. He convinces Sonny to come back for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world. He’ll drive alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the team's hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace. Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies and Kim Bodnia are also part of the cast. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick, Oblivion, TRON: Legacy).
Tries its best to convince us that even at 61 you can still be a competitive Formula 1 racecar driver. An earlier teaser that was released last July: HD720p 23MB.

The Electric State     Tlr1 HD4080p 26MB    Tlr2 HD1080p 23MB
Action adventure set in a retro-futuristic past that follows Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown), an orphaned teenager who traverses the American West in search of her younger brother. Joining her on the journey is a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter (Chris Pratt). Also part of the cast or lending their voices are Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Giancarlo Esposito, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson and Anthony Mackie. Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (The Gray Man, Welcome to Collinwood, You Me and Dupree, and a couple of Marvel movies).
Reviews are about as bad as one would expect. Two trailers to choose from. Starts streaming on Netflix today, March 14th.

Eden     HD1080p 32MB
Survival thriller drama that follows a group high-minded Europeans who seek a new life on a previously uninhabited island in the Galápagos, only to discover that hell is other people. Dr. Friedrich Ritter (Jude Law) and his partner Dora Strauch (Vanessa Kirby) flee their native Germany in 1929, repudiating the bourgeois values they believe are corroding mankind’s true nature. Friedrich wants to focus on writing his manifesto, while Dora resolves to cure her multiple sclerosis through meditation. They are joined by Margaret (Sydney Sweeney) and Heinz Wittmer (Daniel Bruehl), who prove to be earnest, capable settlers. Next comes Eloise Bosquet de Wagner Wehrhorn (Ana de Armas) a self-described Baroness and the “embodiment of perfection,” who arrives with two devoted lovers, an Ecuadorian servant, a wardrobe full of evening gowns, and plans to erect a luxury hotel. Directed by Ron Howard (<i>A Beautiful Mind</i>, <i>Apollo 13</i>, <i>Frost/Nixon</i>).
Festival reviews are very mixed. Judging by the trailer, despite the cast, it's a little difficult to take it seriously. Jude Law seems to do his best Udo Kier impression.
Looks like it will at one point start streaming at amazon, but it found a German distributor first, hence the German subtitles.

How to Train Your Dragon     HD720p 36MB
Disney is practising it for decades, now DreamWorks is recycling their intellectual property in the form of a "live-action reimagining". On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup (Mason Thames) stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), he defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society. With the fierce and ambitious Astrid (Nico Parker) and the village’s quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost) by his side, Hiccup confronts a world torn by fear and misunderstanding. Directed by Dean DeBlois who also directed the three animated films.

Sister Midnight     YouTube
Darkly funny comedic drama from India about rebellious small-town misfit Uma (Radhika Apte) who arrives in Mumbai to find herself totally unsuited to life as a housewife. At odds with her prying neighbors and under the constant oppressive noise and heat of the city, she decides to break free from the shackles of domesticity and follow her own path.
I'm unable to include a downloadable link. But since the theatrical release in the UK starts this weekend I wanted to mention the film.
Edit: Belatedly, downloadable HD1080p 21MB.

F1 sounds like "The Natural" but about F1 racing instead.

Also, Mickey 17 is getting great reviews!

I did not read the book. I found this fun and visually AWESOME. The actors AND characters are superb. This movie was fascinating, interesting, and full of potential.
For about 45 minutes.
It's 128 minutes long.
It got trite fast. There's a huge plot point that is never explained but since it's brought up a few times, I'm sure the explanation is on the cutting room floor.
My husband did read the book and said "They got the scenery right out of the book and lost the plot."

This should have been three 90 minute episodes. The pacing took a serious hit and the dialog suffered because of it.
Edited (Removed extra awesome.) Date: 16 Mar 2025 10:01 (UTC)
