Full trailer of the redband variety for the long gestating remake of the Korean movie (which itself was based on a manga comic) that will be directed by Spike Lee (Inside Man, 25th Hour, Jungle Fever). It's a brutal thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, James Ransone and Samuel L. Jackson are also part of the cast.
Looks pretty solid. What you think about the necessity of doing a remake will probably depend on your knowledge about the original.

Just reading the official summary makes me feel a bit nauseous: Movie will take audiences into the private realm of one the world's most iconic and inescapably public women - the Princess of Wales, Diana (Naomi Watts) - in the last two years of her meteoric life. On the occasion of the 16th anniversary of her sudden death, it explores her final rite of passage: a secret love affair with Pakistani heart surgeon Hasnat Khan (Naveen Andrews), the human complications of which reveal the Princess's climactic days in a compelling new light.
