Trailer from France for this political thriller, the latest movie from Kelly Reichardt (Meek's Cutoff, Wendy and Lucy, Old Joy). It tells the story of three radical environmentalists coming together to execute the most intense protest of their lives: the explosion of a hydroelectric dam - the very source and symbol of the energy-sucking, resource-devouring industrial culture they despise. A former Marine (Peter Sarsgaard), radicalized by tours of duty overseas. A high society dropout (Dakota Fanning), sickened by the consumer economy into which she was born. And their leader (Jesse Eisenberg), a self-made militant, devoted to the protection of the Earth by any means necessary.
Still by no means a mainstream movie, but a bit of a change of pace for Reichardt. Was mostly well received at festivals.

First teaser for another adaptation of a young adult novel set in a dystopian world. It centres on Jonas (Brenton Thwaites), a young man who lives in a seemingly ideal, if colorless, world of conformity and contentment. Not until he is given his life assignment as the Receiver of Memory does he begin to understand the dark, complex secrets behind his fragile community. Cast members include Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgård, and a little bit of stunt-casting in the form of Taylor Swift. Directed by Phillip Noyce (The Quiet American, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Salt).
Too early to tell if the movie will be suitable for viewers of full age. The more adult cast members at least leave open the possibility.

First trailer for the big screen adaptation of a best-selling novel set in, you've guessed it, a post-apocalyptic world. When Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze can he hope to uncover his true purpose and a way to escape. Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Patricia Clarkson are also part of the cast.
I suspect the alternative title was "The Hunger Cube".

A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal - an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, she faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora (Elle Fanning). Sharlto Copley, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, Lesley Manville and Peter Capaldi are also part of the cast.
