Truth     HD720p 40MB
Political thriller based on the story of the Killian documents in 2004 about a no-nonsense news reporter (Cate Blanchett) who is convinced that Bush was among many privileged young men who used their connections to avoid combat. Following a tip regarding evidence about Bush, she assembles her team, which includes a journalism professor (Elisabeth Moss), an unemployed researcher (Topher Grace), and a retired Marine colonel (Dennis Quaid). They persistently chase down leads and witnesses in an attempt to build a bulletproof case that 60 Minutes can air. As she confirms more and more of her hunches, she's fully supported by Dan Rather (Robert Redford). Driving up against deadline, the team rushes frantically to double-check the facts, but airing the story just starts a war with the powers that be, who do all they can to discredit them. Bruce Greenwood, Stacy Keach and Dermot Mulroney are also part of the cast.
Being so annoyed by the current state of US politics it's difficult to find the strength to revisit a story from about a decade ago. But the cast will eventually win me over.

Louder than Bombs     HD720p 41MB
Trailer from Norway for this family drama in which an upcoming exhibition celebrating photographer Isabelle Reed (Isabelle Huppert) three years after her untimely death, brings her eldest son Jonah (Jesse Eisenberg) back to the family house - forcing him to spend more time with his father Gene (Gabriel Byrne) and withdrawn younger brother Conrad (Devin Druid) than he has in years. With the three of them under the same roof, Gene tries desperately to connect with his two sons, but they struggle to reconcile their feelings about the woman they remember so differently. Amy Ryan, David Strathairn and Rachel Brosnahan are also part of the cast. Directed by Joachim Trier (Reprise, Oslo August 31).
Reviews from Cannes were a bit mixed.

Meadowland     HD720p 10MB
Drama about Sarah (Olivia Wilde) and Phil's (Luke Wilson) whose son goes missing, shattering their life together. As months pass with little information, they each struggle in their own way to cope. Phil's more traditional route leads to an unexpected friendship, but also a precarious disconnect with the responsibilities of his job as a city cop. Teacher Sarah goes even farther overboard, struggling to keep herself in check beside the students, parents, family members, and officials that interrupt her search for answers. Giovanni Ribisi, Elisabeth Moss, John Leguizamo, Kevin Corrigan and Juno Temple are also part of the cast.
Certainly no easy watch, but the lead actors give memorable performances.

Krampus     HD720p 48MB
Trailer for a festive horror comedy. When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive. Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner and Allison Tolman are also part of the cast.

Youth     HD720p 24MB
US trailer for the latest drama written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty, Il divo, This Must Be the Place). It explores the lifelong bond between two friends vacationing in a luxury Swiss Alps lodge as they ponder retirement. While Fred (Michael Caine) has no plans to resume his musical career despite the urging of his loving daughter (Rachel Weisz), Mick (Harvey Keitel) is intent on finishing the screenplay for what may be his last important film for his muse (Jane Fonda). And where will inspiration lead their younger friend (Paul Dano), an actor grasping to make sense of his next performance?
