Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) is a stuntman who left the business a year earlier to focus on both his physical and mental health. He's drafted back into service when the star (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) of a mega-budget studio movie, which is being directed by his ex Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt), goes missing. While the film’s ruthless producer (Hannah Waddingham), maneuvers to keep the disappearance a secret from the studio and the media, Colt performs the film’s most outrageous stunts while trying (with limited success) to charm his way back into Jody’s good graces. Winston Duke is also part of the cast. Directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2).
Reviews from the SXSW Film Festival are very favourable.

The outbreak of the civil war separates them when Olsen makes a fateful decision to fight for the Union. This leaves Vivienne to fend for herself in a place controlled by a corrupt mayor (Danny Huston) and his unscrupulous business partner (Garrett Dillahunt). Mortensen also wrote the story and directed. He also wrote the score.

Not that it makes a difference, but so far there's no meaningful plot summary other than that Bad Boys Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are on the run. Original cast member Joe Pantoliano returns. Vanessa Hudgens, Paola Núñez and Alexander Ludwig are on board from the previous film. New cast additions include Ioan Gruffudd and Tiffany Haddish.

The Three Musketeers - Part II: Milady     HD1080p 34MB
Trailer for the second part of the new serious minded adaptation from France of Alexandre Dumas' novel. D'Artagnan (François Civil) is forced to join forces with Milady (Eva Green) to save Constance (Lyna Khoudri), who was kidnapped before his eyes. But as war is declared and Athos, Porthos and Aramis (Vincent Cassel, Romain Duris, Pio Marmaï) have already joined the front, a secret from the past shatters old alliances. Louis Garrel and Vicky Krieps are also part of the cast.
Already released in many countries, not clear if and when it will premiere in the US.

Trailer for what has now been categorised as emo horror, in which teenager Owen (Justice Smith) is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate (Brigette Lundy-Paine) introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show – a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the TV, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack.
Aside from the usual problem that both lead actors portraying teenagers are approaching 30, this looks unusual. It has received very favourable festival reviews.

Crime drama about a hitman who is diagnosed with a fast-moving form of dementia, with one last task to take care of before he can fade away. in a race against time he has to help his estranged son (James Marsden) cover up a messy crime. He sees only one way out, developing a tricky scheme with multiple steps that require precise execution. He enlists the confidence of his friend (Al Pacino) to keep him on track and begins a race against the clock. Second movie also directed by Keaton (The Merry Gentleman).
I love Keaton, and I wish he had been more interesting film in recent year, but this doesn't look entirely convincing.

It's set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike. Directed by Wes Ball (Maze Runner trilogy).

US trailer for this ... colourful animated movie from France. Paulette feels guilty after unjustly punishing her daughter Linda and would do anything to make it up to her. Linda immediately asks for a meal of chicken with peppers, which reminds her of the dish her father used to make. But with a general strike closing stores all across town and pushing people into the streets, this innocent request quickly leads to an outrageous series of events that spirals out of control, as Paulette does everything she can to keep her promise and find a chicken for Linda.
Won the Cesar for Best Animated Film.

I don't think there's yet an official plot summary, but I don't think that's really necessary. Everyone knows what to expect. Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams and Brianna Hildebrand will return. Matthew Macfadyen and Emma Corrin are new cast additions. Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Patrick Stewart probably as you know who, are also listed. Directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum , Real Steel, Free Guy).

A former storm chaser (Daisy Edgar-Jones) haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend (Anthony Ramos) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with a charming and reckless social-media superstar (Glen Powell) who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.
Best not taken seriously, but at IMDb there's a trivia item that states that this isn't a remake, which seems just laughable since it looks exactly like a remake. The most interesting thing is probably that it's directed by Lee Isaac Chung who previously made the Oscar nominated immigration drama Minari.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare     HD720p 26MB
Action-comedy inspired by true events that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Cast members include Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Cary Elwes and Babs Olusanmokun. Directed by Guy Ritchie (Snatch., The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Swept Away).
Feeble historical connection aside, at the end it just looks like another Guy Ritchie film. Or a Matthew Vaughn film.

Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), a young woman, misunderstood because of her unusual green skin, who has yet to discover her true power, and Glinda (Ariana Grande), a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart. The two meet as students at Shiz University in the fantastical Land of Oz and forge an unlikely but profound friendship. Following an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum), their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths. Michelle Yeoh and Jonathan Bailey are also part of the cast. Directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights, Now You See Me 2).

To provide a small counterweight to all the big-budget, Superbowl promoted Hollywood films, a trailer for a drama from Italy with a touch of humour and magic realism, set in 1980s Tuscany. Everyone has their own Chimera, something they try to achieve but never manage to find. For the band of tombaroli, thieves of ancient grave goods and archaeological wonders, the Chimera means redemption from work and the dream of easy wealth. For Arthur (Josh O'Connor), the Chimera looks like the woman he lost, Beniamina. To find her, he challenges the invisible, searches everywhere, goes inside the earth – in search of the door to the afterlife of which myths speak. Alba Rohrwacher and Isabella Rossellini are also part of the cast. Directed by Alice Rohrwacher (Happy as Lazzaro). Movie was very well received in last year in Cannes.
I have to admit that only when a few years ago I noticed a collaboration between them I realised that there are two Italian sisters named Rohrwacher. Alice the director, and Alba the actress.

Again directed by Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, 300, Sucker Punch).
I hope the summary makes at least a little bit of sense to those who've seen the first part. Will start streaming on Netflix April 19th.

Further voices are provided by Werner Herzog, Colin Hanks, Ike Barinholtz, Angela Bassett, Natasia Demetriou and Nat Faxon. It's based on a book by Emma Yarlett, but it's noteworthy that Charlie Kaufman (Synecdoche New York, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich) worked on the screenplay.

Not my kind of film, but reviews are quite favourable.

First trailer for the origin story of Furiosa, to be in theatres next May. As the world fell, young Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home. Again directed by George Miller.
The previous movie was just insane. Watching this new trailer so far mainly makes me want to watch Fury Road again.

She leads a simple and structured life: her daughter, her job, her AA meetings. Their surprise encounter will profoundly impact both of them as they open the door to the past. Written and directed by Michel Franco (Sundown, Chronic).

Crime drama about Charlie Swift (Pierce Brosnan), a fixer with a problem: the target he's whacked is missing his head. And he must prove it's the intended target to the man who paid for the hit - New Orleans' most prominent and most ruthless mobster (Gbenga Akinnagbe). He enlists Marcie Kramer (Morena Baccarin), the victim's ex-wife and a woman with the backbone and skillset Charlie needs. Dragging her back into a past she was determined to escape sends the two of them on a wild and unpredictable odyssey that's unexpectedly amusing, action-propelled, and ultimately heartfelt. The late James Caan is also part of the cast. Directed by Phillip Noyce (The Quiet American, The Bone Collector, Salt).
Reviews indicate it might be worth checking out.

New addition to the art house food porn genre that is set in late 19th century France. Peerless cook Eugenie (Juliette Binoche) has worked for the famous gourmet Dodin (Benoît Magimel) for the last 20 years. As time went by, the practice of gastronomy and mutual admiration turned into a romantic relationship. Their association gives rise to dishes, one more delicious than the next, that confound even the world’s most illustrious chefs. But Eugenie is fond of her freedom and has never wanted to marry Dodin. So, he decides to do something he has never done before: cook for her. Directed by Tran Anh Hung (The Scent of Green Papaya, I Come with the Rain, Norwegian Wood).
Festival reviews are very favourable but keep in mind that it's almost 2 1/2 hours long and there's not a lot happening besides the cooking. Tran Anh Hung was awarded the Best Director Award this year in Cannes. It's also France's submission for the "Best International Film". Two different, short trailers to choose from.

Though it goes against every fiber of her being, she may have to give this guy a chance.
Looks interesting, though festival reviews are a bit mixed.

The two families reckon with a looming disaster that grows more terrifying by the minute, forcing everyone to come to terms with their places in a collapsing world. Kevin Bacon is also part of the cast. Directed by the creator of "Mr. Robot" Sam Esmail.
Festival reviews are mostly on the positive side. After a brief theatrical run, will start streaming on Netflix December 8th.

Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke and Sarah Silverman are also part of the cast. It's also co-written and directed by Cooper (A Star Is Born).
Still feels as if it mainly exists to win awards. After a limited theatrical run, will start streaming on Netflix December 20th.

Action movie from France about pro thief Carole (Mélanie Laurent), tired of life on the run, who wants to retire. But freedom comes at a steep cost: one seemingly simple last job with her loyal partner in crime Alex (Adèle Exarchopoulos) and rookie getaway driver Sam (Manon Bresch). Isabelle Adjani is also part of the cast, Laurent also directs.
The plot probably won't hold too many surprises. But it looks entertaining, and listening to Blondie's Atomic in the trailer puts you in a good mood. Will start streaming on Netflix November 1st.

Redband trailer for this comedic mystery drama based on a true story set in a 1920s English seaside town that bears witness to a farcical and occasionally sinister scandal. It follows two neighbours: deeply conservative local Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) and rowdy Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley). When Edith and fellow residents begin to receive wicked letters full of unintentionally hilarious profanities, foul-mouthed Rose is charged with the crime. The anonymous letters prompt a national uproar, and a trial ensues. However, as the town’s women - led by Police Officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan) - begin to investigate the crime themselves, they suspect that something is amiss. Eileen Atkins, Timothy Spall and Gemma Jones are also part of the cast.

Satire about the commodification of marginalized voices and a portrait of an artist forced to re-examine his integrity. Monk (Jeffrey Wright) is a frustrated novelist who’s fed up with the establishment profiting from “Black” entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write an outlandish “Black” book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain. Tracee Ellis Ross, John Ortiz, Issa Rae, Sterling K. Brown and Adam Brody are also part of the cast.
Won the People's Choice Award last month in Toronto.

Yet Anna increasingly suspects that their relationship is not what it seems. She starts working for the Love Institute, which uses mysterious tests to determine a couple's level of infatuation. There she meets the stunningly charming Amir (Riz Ahmed). Anna begins to wonder if trusting her feelings might be a more reliable gauge than the machines that surround her.

Satirical crime drama about capitalism run amok inspired by true events. Dreaming of a better life for her and her young daughter, Liza (Emily Blunt) lands a job from Pete (Chris Evans) at a failing pharma start-up, where Liza’s charm, drive, and guts catapult her into the high life and the company into the center of a criminal conspiracy with dire consequences. Catherine O'Hara, Andy Garcia, Chloe Coleman, Jay Duplass and Brian d'Arcy James are also part of the cast. Directed by David Yates (Harry Potter franchise, Fantastic Beasts franchise, The Legend of Tarzan).
Festival reviews are surprisingly bad, many noting that despite a noteworthy performance by Blunt, the movie isn't able to tonally deal with the consequences of the opioid epidemic. Will start streaming on Netflix October 27th.

Complicated drama inspired by true events directed by Todd Haynes (Carol, I'm Not There, Dark Waters). Elizabeth (Natalie Portman), a popular television star, has arrived in a tight-knit island community in Savannah. Here, she will be doing intimate research for a new part, ingratiating herself into the lives of Gracie (Julianne Moore), whom she’ll be playing on-screen, and her much younger husband, Joe (Charles Melton), to better understand the psychology and circumstances that more than 20 years ago made them notorious tabloid figures. As Elizabeth attempts to get closer to the family, the uncomfortable facts of their scandal unfurl, causing difficult, long-dormant emotions to resurface.

Alan Tudyk voices Asha's favorite goat. Directed by Chris Buck who co-directed Frozen, Surf's Up and Tarzan.

Having failed to defeat Aquaman (Jason Momoa) the first time, Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time he's more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm (Patrick Wilson), the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Nicole Kidman, Temuera Morrison, Amber Heard, Randall Park and Dolph Lundgren also return. Again directed by James Wan (Furious Seven, The Conjuring, Saw).

Comedic courtroom drama inspired by true events. When a handshake deal goes sour, funeral home owner Jeremiah O’Keefe (Tommy Lee Jones) enlists charismatic, smooth-talking attorney Willie E. Gary (Jamie Foxx) to save his family business. Tempers flare and laughter ensues as the unlikely pair bond while exposing corporate corruption and racial injustice. Jurnee Smollett, Alan Ruck, Mamoudou Athie, Pamela Reed and Bill Camp are also part of the cast.
Looks like an entertaining crowd-pleaser. After a brief theatrical run, will start streaming on amazon October 13th.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar     HD720p 16MB
Aptly short trailer for a 37-minute short directed by Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom, Fantastic Mr. Fox) based on a story by Roald Dahl. It's about a rich man (Benedict Cumberbatch) who learns about a guru (Ben Kingsley) who can see without using his eyes and then sets out to master the skill in order to cheat at gambling. Dev Patel, Rupert Friend and Richard Ayoade are also part of the cast. Ralph Fiennes narrates.
Given that Anderson's most recent movies felt a bit like overload, a shorter film seems like a very good fit. Festival reviews seem to agree. Will start streaming on Netflix September 27th.

Thriller drama set in Ireland, 1970s. Eager to leave his dark past behind, Finbar Murphy (Liam Neeson) leads a quiet life in the remote coastal town of Glencolmcille, far from the political violence that grips the rest of the country. When a menacing crew of terrorists arrive, led by a ruthless woman named Doirean (Kerry Condon), he soon discovers that one of them has been abusing a local young girl. Drawn into an increasingly vicious game of cat and mouse, Finbar must choose between exposing his secret identity or defending his friends and neighbours. Ciarán Hinds, Jack Gleeson and Colm Meaney are also part of the cast.
According to festival reviews uses a lot of familiar characters and Irish clichés, but at least the cast is authentic.

After they run out of money, Liv, looking for an adventure, convinces Hanna to take a temporary live-in job behind the bar of a pub called 'The Royal Hotel' in a remote Outback mining town. Bar owner Billy (Hugo Weaving) and a host of locals give the girls a riotous introduction to Down Under drinking culture but soon the girls find themselves trapped in an unnerving situation that grows rapidly out of their control. Movie reunites Garner with director Kitty Green (The Assistant).
Apparently based on a real story.
